Development strategies

Booking £20m from TV rights in China over 10 years is a remarkable deal for the SPFL, it shows a lot of faith from broadcaster, PPLive, who have the responsibility to foster the league in the world’s most populous country.  The cash will be beer money to Celtic but represents a substantial income for most of the Premiership.

The deal opens the door for Celtic to follow-through, the only club with the wherewithal to exploit the merchandising, scouting and recruitment opportunities there.  We’ve seen strategies developed in Mexico, India and now China, while the European football-tourist market is also now being targeted through online partners.

None of this will put the ball in the Ajax net tomorrow night but it is important nonetheless.

Delighted we’re at Tynecastle in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.  Hearts players found the will to live against Hibs last week but they have little more than effort to their game.  Should be a cracking tie, which will not be subject to the performance vagaries of a home tie with Morton.

I saw George Galloway in the City Halls last night and he was excellent. Apart from putting up imo a compelling case for voting No, he didnt miss The Huns or the Smsm.

One good thing living on a farm, apart from all the other good things is, not having a fireworks night. My dugs hate them as well, they even go mental when guys are out lamping. :))

  9. Weefra,

The kids found our cat in a suitcase in my daughters room earlier, we thought he’d got out and looked everywhere for him. Ps, is it normal for a cat to eat mashed potatoes?

  10. sipsini

Perfectly normal. We once had a cat who loved maltezers. Used to hide them from him as they are not good for cats. We had another one who just adored crisps. Now that caused a lot of aggro, as the mrs and me just luuuuuv crisps. Regardless, they are wonderful animals and really good friends as our present one is.

What was even more surprising was the fact that during Newsnight’s Halloween tribute, with Kirsty Wark, not one of the Zombies were wearing a poppy. Where was their patriotism?
