I may have told you this before, apologies if I’m repeating myself. Around 20 years ago, in a TV studio minutes after a Rangers victory, a former captain, Terry Butcher (what ever happened to him?), told the audience, “David Murray will not stop until he’s won two European Cups and 10 in a row.”
Use of the personal term “he”, not the club name, struck me. Murray was personally invested in this matter. Such a burning desire did not make David Murray a bad person, he owned the dominant club in Glasgow, but the team he was dominating had all that glorious history. If the boot was on the other foot, you’d want the same. I would.
Perhaps if Jock Stein had stayed at Hibs, Celtic would have stayed in mediocrity, David Murray would have had a more affordable dream and the liquidation of his club would not have been necessary.

On Tuesday’s STV report that Hearts manager, John McGlynn, said:
“How many fans would think they could win the league if Celtic weren’t in it at this stage? All [clubs’] fans would.
“That would cause great excitement and I think it would bring fans back to the game, at the lower clubs.
“If you look at the rest of us outside Rangers and Celtic, we’d all fill our stadiums if we thought we’d realistically have a chance of winning the league.”
There are screeds written and spoken about our game but the McGlynn Plan is the most productive comment I’ve read all year. Well done to STV for the report, hopefully they will put the same questions to others in the league. This is the most important question for Scottish football right now.
It’s time for these clubs to throw off their downtrodden ways and genuinely compete for the Scottish title.

the association that he is head of ? and does the lack of
any coherent action not bring charges of bringing the
game into disrepute directly onto the SFA itself ?

habitually lied to them and of so why have they

there is no reference to Smith leaving never mind
compensation. Accounts have been approved by Messrs Peat,

were very likely to go into administration and that a CVA
was likely to fail. Was this assertion shared with other SPL
board members or did Doncaster and Topping keep it to
themselves as they pretended all was well while preparing to
change the rules to allow a Newco access to top flight
football ?
Was he approached by Sky and told the consequences of the
above happening ?
If so, where is the communication between the two? I remember
he stated there was a contract to be renewed in June/July
and then it all went quiet. At a conference last week he said
that he was surprised how `resilient’ the game was here.
So what happened in between times when the contract was
`negotiated’ ?
If the new contract was not to be signed until the summer
then why was Doncaster saying that the deal would be a
reduced one without `thems’ before the deal was agreed ?

Who represented the police at any of the creditors meetings

The Bank of Scotland informed Celtic that it was calling
in the receivers on Thursday 3 March 1994 as a result of
exceeding a £5 million overdraft. What was the
descrepancy in dealing with Celtic compared to dealing
with Rangers FC for this bank ?
What was the situation with regards SPL stadium
refurbishment and Sir David Murray´s companies winning
the contract for this work ?
Was the stadium refurbishment an SFA or Bank of Scotland
inspired strategy that just happened to help Sir David Murrays
business ?
Who really introduced EBTs to Sir David Murray – perhaps a big
Fife banker and not a porno star ?
Was there any communication ever between Murray
and Ticketus ?

Why does Lord Hodge get all the Rangers cases ?
and it related to non disclosure of Rangers EBT
beneficiaries ?
Where is Lord Hodges report and what is the status
of it ?
Why were suspicions not raised when in 1996 highly
paid super star Andy Goram could only pay an issued
fine with minimal installments ?
Why were suspicions not raised when in 2001 highly
paid super star Lorenzo Amoruso could only pay an
issued fine with minimal installments ?
Why were suspicions not raised when in 2008 highly
paid super star Nacho Novo could only pay an issued
fine with minimal installments ?
Does this not indicate a massive failure within the
judicial system ?
Does it hint at financial malpractice possible fraud

If so why is this being so quietly accepted without recourse

when you called for a football summit ?
Why did you call for a football summit due to the
“disgraceful scenes” at the shame game yet you failed
to comment or notice the SFA´s lack of discipline towards
Rangers employees for their disgraceful behaviour that
night ?
When you considered the necessity of the new offensive
football bill. What did you think of the justice handed
out to Neil Lennon after being assualted on the pitch
at your team Heart of Midlothian ?
Did you think the sentence handed out to the nail bombers
was leninent or did you agree with the “not proven”
verdict ?
Did Craig Whyte complete the necessary HMRC request
forms to allow you to intervene on Rangers behalf
of their tax problems ? If not why not ?
Did Alex Salmond mislead the Scottish Parliament over
his intercession with HMRC on behalf of Rangers?
Do you consider Sevco to be an integral part of
Scottish society ?
At what point in time were you made aware of the
perilous financial situation at Rangers and by whom ?
Would you welcome further endorsements of your party
and policies by Sir David Murray ?
Why are Sevco fans immune from the new legislation
that prompted you to call for an immediate football
summit ?
If you were aware of Rangers perilous financial state
before the football summit do you now accept that you were;
either putting the cart before the horse (so why ?) or you were
indeed hoodwinked into the Rangers must survive at all costs
PR campaign orchestrated by Media house presumably
especially considering that Sevco fans are immune from
prosecution ?
Are Sevco fans being spared from prosecution as this is
what media house have requested ?
To whom have you spoken to with regards the perilous
financial state of Rangers and were these meetings
minuted ?
If not why not ? What do you have to hide ?
Are you still proud of Rangers FC historic accomplishments ?
Are you content that Scottish Independent Television openly
admitted to becoming Rangers and Sevco´s official media
partner as you had nothing to say on the matter ?
Is this your vision of a future of Scotland where the only
Independent Scottish Television channel is a customer
of Rangers FC and then Sevco especially considering
how much public finance is given to Sevco from BBC
Scotland ?
Section 15. ECA governance, administration and accountability
Does the ECA approve of the use of EBT´s to pay players and
football employees ?
Has the meeting you have had with Charles Green been minuted ?
Do you consider Sevco to have taken the place of Rangers within
your organisation ?
If yes how has this come to pass considering your own statutes ?
Why has so far no decision been taken upon this ?
Is Karl Heinz Rumennigge compromised in his position as head
of the ECA considering that his close friend and former General
Manager of Bayern Munich – a club he partly owns – is an EBT
beneficiary ?
Does the above also explain why the ECA have ignored this issue
with regards to one of their founder clubs ?
That the ECA statutes were partly written by John Mc Lelland
is it safe to conclude that the ECA is only a vehicle to extract
monies from UEFA for the use of club players on international
duty and has in fact no interest in FFP ?
If yes then why the hands off attitude to the situation caused
by Rangers FC ?
Section 16. SPFA governance, administration and accountability
Why has the SPFA made no comment so far on the general use of
EBT´s ?
Would the use of EBT´s reduce a members fees considering part of
his salary would be hidden ?
When were you informed that Rangers FC stopped paying tax and

If duplicity occurred, it ultimately occurred to the hindrance of Rangers, in that sense the end has more than justified the means, even if it was never intended as such.
