A ‘Grand’ old Kano Foundation

198

Across the globe in Western Aus, our friend and CQN’er, Martin Kane, will hopefully have a warm glow today when he hears that the charitable foundation that bears his name, The Kano Foundation, will this month take its 1000 child through the turnstiles at Celtic Park.

The guys at the Foundation would like to mark this occasion by giving credit where it’s due: “Taking 1000 kids to Celtic Park would NOT be possible without the fantastic support you guys have given us and for that Heartfelt thanks. You have all played an important part in this and should be very proud of your efforts.

“To mark the occasion, our good friend AMAC has re-designed our logo and we would ask that for at least 1 day as many of our online friends would do us the honour of changing their profile picture/avatar to this logo and ask as many of their friends as possible to do the same.

“We sincerely hope you will all join us in celebrating this fantastic achievement.

“We thank you once again for your wonderful support and look forward to seeing sea of KANO avatars.”

You can get the avatar from the Kano Foundation Facebook and Twitter pages.

THE EXILED TIM – They are scum of the highest order.

    Even the People’s Friend? (thumbsup)

Yes, as rumour has it that they started life as The Peepil’s friend.

  2. Re the Jag with the Kano Foundation Logo.

I can exclusively reveal that our esteemed, maybe that should be steamed ;-0, Sannabhoy graciously consented to let a mere peasant like me cut keys for it. He didn’t let me in it mind!!

‘Big Nan – Remind me again why we need this new legislation?

Because Kenny MacAskill said some very stupid things after a football match.’

It wasn’t the league cup final. It was the ‘shame game’ against the huns and Salmond’s populist ‘something must be done’ response to it.

I’ll let you off ,this time.

  5. Let’s all write posts in the style of The People’s Friend. It will be a great laugh.

    I’ll start.

Scott Brown seemed very keen to get the Celtic captain’s armband back off Beram Kayal when he came onto the park last night. This reminds us of a story we once heard about a Fife granny who was always trying to knit scarves for her grandweans when the cold of winter began to bite. The only trouble was that granny was much better at making cloutie dumpling than she was at knitting and, in fact, all her attempts at turning wool into warm clothing turned out a bit like dumplings.

When one grandson became the pride of the family and was named as captain of the local Boys’ Brigade under-12 football team, he simply picked up one of the discarded dumpling-scarves and used it as an armband, handmade with a granny’s love.

    Celtic v Hearts Ticket Prices

By: Newsroom Staff on 29 Nov, 2011 16:56

IN response to a misleading report in the Edinburgh Evening News, Celtic Football Club would like to clarify the following:

Celtic Football Club offered tickets to Heart of Midlothian to be directly distributed to Hearts supporters for the upcoming game on December 10 at Celtic Park. However, they did not wish to do this.

It was therefore agreed between the clubs that Celtic FC would sell tickets directly to Heart of Midlothian fans, something which Hearts do for Celtic supporters for matches at Tynecastle.

The price of a ticket for the Hearts match was reduced from £32 to £28 in season 2009/10. This price was held for season 2010/11 and a small increase of £1 was introduced in season 2011/12 in line with all SPL clubs within their category.

The Special Delivery charge is applied at fans’ discretion, although it is recommended by Celtic FC to guarantee ticket arrival. Should the fan choose not to have tickets sent by Special Delivery, then tickets will be sent by standard post.

A small booking fee of £1.50 is added to the ticket price of the £29 to cover the cost of administration of this ticket. This is common practice with most ticketing agencies throughout the United Kingdom.

It should be noted that when Celtic visited Tynecastle in October, our supporters were asked to pay exactly the same prices – £29 for a match ticket and all booking and postal charges being the same.

I understand your loathing for all things SNP but I really do wish that you’d stop using this new legislation as a political hammer with which to beat them with.

I will never vote for them again for even attempting to introduce this nonsense. However, my greatest concern is how it will effect individual Celtic supporters, not who brought it in.

  9. vogue,

I meant to ask Jude of he believed that, if the players never spoke to the Press, the Media would not write anything derogatory about us?

Watch for when this law fails. Watch for Alec Salmond stating that he knew this all along but the only way to prove that such a law was unworkable once and for all was to bring it onto the statutes.

  13. Kudos indeed to all the Bhoys’n’Ghirls at The Kano Foundation!

    Or it’s genius ( which I doubt).

He’s the only thing close to a proper politician in the Scottish Parliament and you have to ask yourself this – how much grief would he get if he said “a law of this type is unworkable and everything it would deal with is covered by existing laws” As Ms Graham demonstrated there are plenty that think existing laws unfairly targeted one side and things needed to be ‘evened up’. They would never lie down to that argument.

  17. BBC have received nearly 5,000 complaints about Jeremy Clarkson’s ” the public sector strikers should be taken out and shot in front of their families'” statement.Position untenable, sack him now,fud of the highest order.

There are already countless examples in the public domain as to why the Sun are lowlife scum – naming a rape victim, and the accusations towards Liverpool fans are just two of them.

Anything new will simply extend that rag’s list of shame.
