A week for leaks

1020

This seems to be a week for leaks.  I hear one club recently refunded two investors to the tune of £500k each.  Don’t worry, it wasn’t Celtic, and I hear the club involved are one of the most financially secure in Britain.  I also hear the national broadcaster rejected a former presenter’s request to return to the fold.

Still nothing from the SFA, who were responsible for issuing associate membership to Newco Rangers, on the leak from the club’s board meeting that the Association expressed alarm that earlier information had leaked from chairman, Malcolm Murray.  Mr Murray recently instigated an investigation into the relationship between Craig Whyte and Charles Green, the nature of which could invalidate Newco’s associate membership.

Far from being alarmed at leaks, the SFA should be keen to see full disclosure.  Reports suggesting otherwise are alarming.  I am sure the SFA president has already demanded openness and clarity…….  Relax, standards of corporate governance at the SFA are as high as ever.

I am also sure the leak from Newco was not a shot across the SFA’s bows, providing a glimpse into what looks like some murky conversations which people at the Association could have much to lose from being exposed.

TET, maybe we should nip over to portugal for a game and hook up with lenny and fat ally. There’s a 26 page thread on hun media about them playing golf together in the algarve in the close season. Most of it is pure hatred against our manager. Some of it calls for the useless one to be sacked for even contemplating socialising with NFL.

You can partner the fat loser btw (and I dont mean me) :-)

They are not all bad, only when they get together, brings out the bad. Some of my best mates support them, when I ask why they hate the way they do, the answer is stunning – its just part of the game!! This logic is common in their support.

Another friend of mine, big bluenose, got married in a chapel to a good catholic girl fae Holytown. When I remind him of this he laughs.

We are what we are, and that is Tims, we don’t always win, not for the want of trying, but they will never defeat us.

Take care and god bless Timland.

O.G. Rafferty, in your opinion is there anything about this whole sordid hun fiasco that’s not gradually came out? The old adage, the truth will out does seem to be correct. That being the case there will be more and more and more.

Will anything be done about it, will there be consequences, will they pay their dues, that’s more important.

It looks very unlikely they will, they’re already one league closer to soiling our saturdays once again.

It’s the culture and tradition of the Zombies to hate – and it’s been passed on through generations as the done thing.

I was always told by my parents that all men are equal and due the same respect as your own.

Although when I hit my teens my dad always stressed Celtic we were a class apart.

I just love CQN and have been on here for 7 yrs + but I just love all of your contributions, believable or not, they are your opinions at that time, and I respect them. Whether I agree with them or not, I still respect them and do my best to understand your opinion, which I generally do. So I’m off to bed now as there are beasts to be attended to in the mo. Night night Timland.

  25. Excuse my interruption,

Could someone tell me the original registration number of Celtic ?

I’m in the middle of a futile argument with a supporter of Third Lanark, or maybe Gretna, Airdie, some such club of historical insignificance.

The company number would be a clinching argument.

( as if we needed one; any semblance of debate or point-scoring, only gives credence to the thieving shysters ).

You could not insult me if you tried. We are all welcome to our opinions on this site, and I probably sympathise with most posts on here, not necessarily agreeing with them, but we are all adults and hopefully can live with each others opinions. At the end of the day, we all want Celtic to succeed. :)))

martybhoy59, I’ve had a look at nazimedia and I’m amazed it took until post number 39 in the thread before the real bile came out.

This is another world record for the hun support. Its days like this I wish I could still post on their fascist propaganda site.

actually, here is Paul’s explanation… which is pretty clear

    http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/?p=8001

The Celtic Football and Athletic Company Ltd

I think when you have been asked the same question about six times in a few days it’s worth explaining the issue here. If a football club is liquidated it’s finished. Continuity with its history and records ends. This is not the same as a football company changing its name.

Celtic was established as a sporting club at a meeting in a church hall in November 1887, in many ways, no different than a million other football, karate and badminton clubs. It subsequently registered with the SFA in 1888. In April 1897 it incorporated as a private limited company, registering as The Celtic Football and Athletic Company Ltd at Companies House. It was the 3487th company to register in Scotland and was given the incorporation number SC003487.

In 1994 the company became a public limited company and changed its name to Celtic PLC but, of course, remained the same company, with the same incorporation number and retained the same registration with the SFA. You can check our corporate history, from incorporation in 1897, to name change in 1994 to our most recent annual return, dated 31 December 2011, at Companies House here.

On the same day Celtic changed its name to Celtic PLC, Fergus McCann changed the name of an off the shelf company, securing the old trading name ‘The Celtic Football and Athletic Company Ltd’, which is fully owned by Celtic PLC, but is not registered as a football club. I assume this was to secure our old name for the club and to protect it from potential abuse.

Don’t let anyone tell you our history ‘started in 1994’. We are very much the club of Maley, Quinn, Thomson, McGrory, Stein, Johnstone and Dalglish.
