This seems to be a week for leaks. I hear one club recently refunded two investors to the tune of £500k each. Don’t worry, it wasn’t Celtic, and I hear the club involved are one of the most financially secure in Britain. I also hear the national broadcaster rejected a former presenter’s request to return to the fold.
Still nothing from the SFA, who were responsible for issuing associate membership to Newco Rangers, on the leak from the club’s board meeting that the Association expressed alarm that earlier information had leaked from chairman, Malcolm Murray. Mr Murray recently instigated an investigation into the relationship between Craig Whyte and Charles Green, the nature of which could invalidate Newco’s associate membership.
Far from being alarmed at leaks, the SFA should be keen to see full disclosure. Reports suggesting otherwise are alarming. I am sure the SFA president has already demanded openness and clarity……. Relax, standards of corporate governance at the SFA are as high as ever.
I am also sure the leak from Newco was not a shot across the SFA’s bows, providing a glimpse into what looks like some murky conversations which people at the Association could have much to lose from being exposed.

Daly is 30.
He isn’t that good a player.
He is a decent player and no more.
He won’t get any better.
He won’t have a resale value.
He comes into the same category as Sandaza, Kyle, Shiels and Black.
He’s from Ireland and we know how the lunatic fringe of the Sevco support feel about that.
What’s not to like?
Starry
See you all later, safe flight….pick you up at the same bit as last time HHS

Italian media claiming that Antonio Conte will decide if he is staying at Juve within the next 2 days..
It is claimed he’ll walk unless the Juve suits come up with the money to enable Juve to compete with the big boys in the Champions League . It is also claimed that Conte wants control over who Juve buy and sell . He is said to be very unhappy that the suits landed him with the likes of Bendtner and Anelka .
Some have him at PSG or Monaco . Some have him at Manchester City or Chelsea .
We’ll see.

Its the 1000th post that winsva medal .
Btw.. can you explain your blog name . Probably been asked before ;)
Because we have always been an all inclusive Club, a Jon Daly to Sevco equivalent is difficult but it has me wondering what a player`s background would need to be before a large section of our fans would find him difficult to accept him.

So it’s not the manager who decides which players are bought?
Let’s be altruistic for a moment.
Most of us have spent our lives condemning Them for their sectarian, bigoted policies.
It is the biggest stick we have to beat them with.
Therefore, if the Daly signing comes off, we should welcome it as a small step in their ” cleansing” and give them credit………….
Na, it doesn’t work for me either. They’ll have to die again.

Did I hear that Jabba had approached the BBC about a return to the fold?
hamiltontim,
In many clubs, it is not the manager who decides.
In fact, the name ” manager” is not the job title.
It is ” coach”.
Coaches come and go, perhaps usually after two or three years.
Clubs want continuity of style and whenever possible, personnel.
That’s where the director of football comes in.
In theory, if a manager decides which players he wants for his team, then when he leaves, the next guy will want his own payers.
This leads to staff turnover and eats into funds.
Far better to have a competent DoF, who sources players to fit the club’s style and have a coach with a similar philosophy to coach them.
Continuity of style, starting with youth teams, through to the first team.
Easy.

Bobby Murdoch .
A truly great player . Absolute proof that you don’t need to be a muscle bound athlete to be able to play The Beautiful Game beautifully . .
A dozen caps for Scotland ——-a dozen !.
One of the few good things about being an old git is being old enough to have seen the likes of Bobby Murdoch . . I have a newspaper photo of Bobby inside the sleeve of a Smokey Robinson and The Miracles LP [ The Tears of a Clown ] I play that LP a lot — I therefore see Bobby Murdoch a lot . . Memories ..

The Boy Jinky @ 11:32,
“…………………..I felt I was in the presence of a very special man and was speechless. We both entered the lift in silence and stood quietly as it rose.”
Had a similar experience at a Footie do once, many of the great and good were there including the then current Celtic squad.
Got a tap on the shoulder…
‘Chairbhoy a couple of guys I’d like you to meet.’
Turned aroun’
Tommy Gemmell, Bobby Murdoch.
Stood there wide mouthed and dumb struck.
The Person who introduced us looking at me like I was a moron.
Still one of the best moments of my life.

Re spitting
Wilkins,of “bald ugly and insane” fame-JIMBO67 will remember that one-told a sportsmans dinner in Cirencester that he had to change his shirt at ht due to being gobbed on by the jungle.
Lying swine-nobody could have spat over the running track we had then!
Jungle Jim, are you going across for the golf day on June 14th? Drop me an email. Depending on your plans it might be worth heading over in one car. I’ll probably look for a hotel and stay the night so I can partake of one or seventeen drams.
