Aberdeen 1-3 Celtic

884

Celtic blitzed Aberdeen with three goals in the opening 11 minutes in what at that stage looked set to be a drubbing, but the hosts pulled a goal back in the 12th minute, which set a parity for the remainder of the match.

Leigh Griffiths has had to be patient this season but he made the most of his starting opportunity tonight. The opening goal, came from his corner, which was headed into the net by Dedryck Boyata. Patrick Roberts had a clear chance to open the scoring seconds earlier, but Aberdeen keeper Lewis turned his effort behind.

The second Celtic goal arrived on the 8th minute. There was nothing really on when Griffiths collected the ball wide on the right, but one cheeky nutmeg later and the Aberdeen defence were chasing shadows. Leigh crossed and Callum McGregor fired a shot which was blocked by Logan. The rebound fell to Stuart Armstrong, who contorted his body to make a contact good enough to score.

Again, there was little obvious danger when Leigh Griffiths collected the ball 30 yards out in 11 minutes. The Celtic striker took on two defenders before cracking a shot from 24 yards, which moved and deceived Lewis before smacking the back of the net.

At this point Celtic looked more likely to score six than to settle for three, but, remarkably, the fourth goal of the game arrived just a minute later, when Jonny Hayes lost Kieran Tierney with a quick change of direction before thundering one into the top corner from 23 yards.

unspecified-54

It was now Celtic’s turn to rock. Perhaps the game’s most important subsequent moment came after just 14 minutes when Stockley lost the Celtic central defenders, but couldn’t make contact with a cross 7 yards in front of goal.

Celtic’s passing in recent weeks has been exceptional, but they didn’t get this right on a choppy Pittodrie surface, as the unforced error count spiked. The ball rotation we have become used to seeing this season didn’t happen often, underlining the importance of suspended Scott Brown.

  1. We talked to Moussa in the Jan window, that’s all, he was sounded out, NOTHING was signed till he actually signed for us, no pre contract was signed, had there been it would have been on the Celtic site and all over the media, there was nothing cos he signed nothing.

Brendan had a chat with Moussa’s agent, he told him to tell Moussa to speak to Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling if he had any concerns about Brendan’s credentials. Moussa is only here because Brendan lured him to Paradise.

  4. What exactly is ‘Cockney” rhyming slang?

Cockney rhyming slang at its most simple is a use of a conjunction of words, whose last is used to suggest a rhyme, which is its definition. For example one of the most famous and one that is very rarely used in all seriousness is Apples and Pears, meaning stairs.

Usually the rhyming slang is abbreviated to just the first word, so the above example would become apples.

    as in P**H Lilian Gish

This in effect makes a sentence in which it is employed much harder to understand and when a phrase incorporates two or more elements of rhyming slang the meaning becomes so obscure that to the ininitiated confusion is the result. There lies its original purpose, as a form of coded speech.

There were 27 kids making their first communion today at a mass that is always busy….there are a few places around the chapel, some were invited to the same mass but three of four communions, not that it matters, a lot ended up at ours, even though a few of the other “celebrations” had free bars……I informed all invites I would expect to have a beer/cider bought because I had provided their sausage rolls & sandwiches :-)

Miss GFTB obviously got monetary presents but as rosary beads go, holy pendants and medals, we could open up our own we chapel shop …….

Moussa said in a celtic tv interview that he had spoken to the club months previously , there’s a lot of negotiations involved in a player signing and I think the player and his agent would have kept his options open right up till the last , remember Billy McNeil saying that he had the unmentionable ones signature on paper and we know what happened next , so Borini or Moussa or any “done deal” is 99% complete and the last 1% is the actual signing the deal , so Moussa probably only became a Celtic player 5 mins before appearing before the press . Anyway Cowiebhoy fancy a singalong ? :-) ……….. CALL CAL ( That’s Amore) When your left back goes down , don’t be stuck with a frown call McGregor , if your man on the wing , he just aint doing his thing call McGregor , If you’re missing a spark in the heart of the park call McGregor , for no matter the role he’ll chip in with a goal CALLUM McGREGOR.

Turkeybhoy, I’ve not seen enough of Eboue to even begin to form an opinion yet. He came on a few weeks back at CP and got off to a shaky start, then settled into the game and turned and opposition player inside out at one point.

I hope you’re right but as one who visits CP every home game, I’ve yet to see this boy play properly, and by properly I mean a whole or substantial part of a game.
