Aberdeen stand up for the fans against Doncaster and Regan

755

Blogging on the move right now but want to pass comment on one part of the statement by Aberdeen chairman, Stewart Milne.  As he confirmed his club would place the fifth and decisive vote against Sevco being allowed access to the SPL next season he said:

“Reorganisation of the game is a priority and is something we have been actively involved in for a long time, but it is not something that should be rushed through just to deal specifically with one club.

“As we have indicated there are a number of other areas that we feel need to be addressed openly in the coming period if Scottish football fans are to feel that their views have been properly taken into account.”

Those well-paid executives who work for us and on Friday met to discuss a way to reorganise the league structure in the next couple of weeks should pay heed.  As Mr Milne suggests, we are the game, not you.

So does this mean that St Anthony’s (the original wearers of the green & white hoops) are the biggest team in Govan. Oh happy day!

  2. For all troubles in football Vladimir Putin is the best solution.

After big flop of the Russian team in Poland he asked politely Andrey Fursenko FA head to resign. Andrey Fursenko accepted last chinese request made by Putin and resigned today. He will take a post at UEFA.

Can’t you sign that man Putin?

    SPL ‘No’ Vote Conspiracy Theory

Seven SPL clubs have now made public their intentions to vote ‘no’ to the Rangers newco. But is it all just a big conspiracy?

Ok, this is going to sound barking mad and perhaps desperate but I think I’ve worked it out. If you like a conspiracy theory then listen to this one.

That’s SEVEN SPL clubs who have now publicly stated that they are going to vote against allowing the Rangers newco into the SPL. But… what if the vote comes along on July 4th and Rangers get a shock victory?

Could all these clubs coming out in public and saying they’re going to say no just be a plot? If they all vote yes and the vote is kept secret, how do we know which clubs said yes and which said no? We don’t.

Therefore the clubs save face with their fans, the fans buy the season tickets and the clubs still get the gate receipts etc generated by playing Rangers. The fans can’t prove that their club said yes. It’s crazy but you just never know.

Let’s just see how the vote really goes on July 4th. Yeah I know it’s unlikely but it all just seems a little odd to me that they are all coming out now and telling us all how they’re going to vote

  5. Ulysses,

i had bought a friends timeshare for 2 weeks, was called the Sunset Beach,

it was a really good place although the bars, restaurants were a bit expensive for the area,

i thought the place itself was a bit too “english” for my liking, although there was an excellent Irish bar near my hotel,

it does have some good local restaurants nearby particularly if you like fish,

also the marina area is good with plenty nice places to eat,and you are only a bus journey away from another couple of resorts

I never said Wanyama said he wanted to leave.

There are quote attirbuted to him today, which implies whilst he is happy at Celtic – its really all about the EPL.

    Not incorrect might I add.

However if this was purely the case, then I said I believed Hoops, Kayal and Izaguirre would be doing similar interviews to the one directly attributed towards Wanyama today.

If those same quotes are in fact true – and they do match up with what his agent has been banging on about, id still be disappointed at the speed of having his head turned.

I look at the three mentioned – who could all quite easily get clubs just as good as Wanyama could, who appear to be playing the right cards. Thats the one Lenny is dealing them – stay here for 3-4 years, grow into not only coping with the pressure but thriving on it. Soak up the adulation and enjoy the fantastic exposure that playing for Celtic and playing in the champs league brings. Then lets have another conversation.

    Good Evening,

Amidst a day when football fans demonstrated that they have a voice, it is very easy to forget that football teams are made up of people, and thyat football clubs are made of people.

Some people are of course of the standout variety– often quietly doing the most amazing things for their own private reasons.

This week saw a young footballer lose his battle with cancer. Miki Roque played for Real Betis but had spent some formative years with Liverpool FC. Following a routine scan for back pain, he was diagnosed with Pelvic cancer, a disease which ultimately took his life. Doctors attempted to save the young man’s life with various treatments, including surgery, but regrettably after extensive treatment, Miki Roque lost his battle and his life.

However, what I want to bring to your attention is this:

I do not know why, but the young man’s medical care would appear to have been paid for personally by Mr Carles Puyol, The Captain of Barcelona.

One reason may be because Roque or his mother came from the same area as Puyol but I cannot confirm that.

What I can confirm, is that some people just impress you more and more in terms of their demeanor, their behaviour and their…….. sheer class.

There are few footballers who I admire more than Carles Puyol. I admire the player greatly, but words fail me when it comes to the man himself.
