  1. 3-2 up, with 10 minutes to play, we bring on Turnbull to replace Rogic who was dead on his feet.

Turnbull goes strength into the attacking No. 10 role vacated by Rogic – at the 3rd goal Turnbull makes a Rogic like, half hearted attempt to tackle then track the Aberdeen player who skips past 3 stationary players to feed the Aberdeen striker.

The game was chaotic, Duffy was in freefall getting dragged out of his comfort zone and our Coaching team allowed us to continue with the 4-2-3-1 formation we were chasing the game with !!

4-5-1, sit deep snuffing out any space around the box, avoid any cheap free kicks and see the game out. Maybe not the Celtic way but surely after the week we have had, justified to claim a huge ( and largely deserved) 3 points.

Neil Lennon was a terrific defensive midfielder, all about shape and control. How can he not see what is evolving in from of his eyes? If NL can’t see it then what are his technical staff watching, it is truly basic stuff we are talking about here.

  2. I don’t see how we could possibly be any worse under a new gaffer. We’re absolutely rotten.

Lenny will never be a good in game manager. He’ll react to the game rather than try to own it.

Our coaching is very questionable given the lack of structure and any discernible pattern of play.

Neil Lennon’s big attribute is suppose to be motivating the players but today with minutes left on the clock he’s sitting on his arse, arms folded.

We need to act now because after Fir Park and Easter Road it will in all likelihood be too much to ask of a new manager.

My affection towards Neil does not take priority over what’s best for Celtic.

  3. Westcraigs – I get your concern but did you honestly think that was a team imploding today ?

In difficult conditions, against a good, robust team, hopeless ref (for both teams) and behind 2-1. If ever there was a time to implode, it was there. No?

Neil Lennon will win ten in a row,

Scott Brown replaced Ntcham and was / is meant to be our defensive midfielder.

Watch their 3rd goal, he is out of position, flat footed and allows the Aberdeen midfielder to breeze past him, taking him out of the game.

Fresh legs, years of experience and our Captain, couldn’t control his own shape never mind the team’s !!

  5. The pumpkins are on the porch, yet we still dont know our best formation, let alone starting 11.

A very concerning state of affairs

Maybe by Christmas we’ll know. Easter maybe?

  6. NORRIEM@2:56pm

    Agree 100% with your comments.

One of the things that stuck out a mile was on one of the goals big Cosgrove had a half hour to turn in the box and shoot.

Hate to say this but what is Jozo doing, bring him back on a pay per game.We need a CB badly.

  7. Tommy Joad,

I have seen nothing this season to suggest that,NL sits in the dugout arms folded, any half decent manager would be getting better performances from these players.

  8. No Bobby Does It Petta on

All things considered, we have been incredibly unlucky this season… injuries and covid etc

    Whilst the other lot haven’t.

Surely their luck will run out soon?

I don’t see how we could possibly be any worse under a new gaffer. We’re absolutely rotten.

I disagree my friend, that is far from the worst Celtic squad I have seen, a better coach could make a much better fist of it HH

NO BOBBY DOES IT PETTA on 25TH OCTOBER 2020 3:50 PM

The terrible performances by us this season has absolutely nothing to do with luck.

We should not be relying on the huns to run out of luck……

  11. TOMMY JOAD

Come back on and tell us that at the end of November. Goals are raining in against us like confetti. We have no shape, no organization, no spark, no imagination, no ideas. We have to go to Lille, Prague, Milan, Motherwell and Hibs in the next 4 weeks. With this utter shambles of a defence, we will likely get nothing from these games.

  12. I feel sorry for duffy – he’s a fan and has made the worst start, a defender has made, I can remember!

No sleep tonight. Keep going duffer, it’ll get much better.

  13. The Battered Bunnet on

Looking on the bright side, Shane Duffy was only directly responsible for one third of the goals we lost today. That’s a significant improvement.

  14. dearie dearie , I feel sorry for duffy – he’s a fan and has made the worst start, a defender has made, I can remember!

couldn’t give a monkeys if he is a fan or not , don’t feel sorry for him one iota , he is being paid thousands to play , we should be getting a refund and returned to sender.

  15. No Bobby Does It Petta on

    One Night

Julien, Eddy, Bitton, Forrest, Elhammed, Johnston, Ajeti

If all fit and all available for all of the season so far, then seriously doubt we’d be in same position.

  16. WESTCRAIGS on 25TH OCTOBER 2020 3:32 PM

We are doing a sevco this season.

Sevco imploded last season. We are imploding this season. Things will get worse before they get better.

Sevco will thrive on our mistakes and collapse and can only get stronger .

Maybe lawwell expected sevco to implode again this season. Bad call Peter.

It is not lost yet but it is getting there

    ————————–

While not a fan of Lawwell I fail to see what ‘bad call’ he’s made about our poor form, lack of system and poor coaching. We have also been gutted by covid; 4 players out because of it and the usual escape goat Forrest injured. I was very happy at the end of the window having lost none of our starting 11-15 and also brought in some good players. Do we want Lawwell to intervene in set up, coaching, tactics etc.? That’s exactly what he’s supposedly been doing for years!

    No win situation surely?

  17. I can’t believe most posters reaction to that today is to bury their heads in the sands a little deeper.

Sevco will drop points, they just gave us a doing at home a week ago, on that day the head buriers thought having 2 international players on a bench was a positive as we started with 2 players only making their second starts for the club.

Today was must win, we failed, the league is poor, we are poor and Sevco are strong in Europe and at home.

We have no time to wait, I said that last week and we are in a worse position now.

Is their really anyone who thinks NFL will do ten?

Blind faith and dropping our standards is what got us in this position.

Doing nothing wasn’t an option to me last week , doing nothing now is accepting defeat, the players we are missing now is the excuse, we couldn’t get performances with them now their the saviours.

If you can’t see our problems are deeper than missing players and are managing and coaching issues, you know nothing.

  18. It’s heart in mouth time every time the opposition is near our penalty box.

I haven’t been the most vocal against Lenny, I was prepared to see how today went.

We’re a shambles. When player after player makes glaring errors we have to look at the management team.

I honestly believe we’ll drop points at Fir Park and Easter Road under Lennon.

The most damning aspect of our game is that I no longer look forward to our games.

It’s not enjoyable watching us play anymore. It hasn’t been enjoyable for a while.

Excitement about an upcoming game is now replaced with a sense of oncoming doom.

    Neil should go.

  19. The only thing that surprises me is that people remain surprised.

We’ve been a disorganised mess since the season started, the only thing that has changed are posters’ excuses kicking the can down the road – the long break, the transfer window, the bedding in period, fitness levels, the weather, COVID, the ludge, too many internationals, the SFA, no crowds, locusts, pestilence, famine, etc etc.

You’re watching Lennyball – throw on the technicians and hope it clicks, react to falling behind by throwing on more and different, just keep trying to outscore the opposition.

And we would have gotten away with it again today if it was wasn’t for that pesky Duffy!

Bored if it. We’re months past making a positive managerial change and everyone is still hoping for external forces to bail us out – a mythical hun collapse to COVID19 contamination (FFS, how low are reaching?)..

The slow car crash continues and we’re all the dummies in the front seats.

Buckle up and tell me when we hit that turning point you all keep telling me about?

    HH

  20. The squad of players that we have is more than good enough to win the league and all is not lost yet.

But the guys in dugout need replaced asap.

I would like Eddie Howe . But I think WGS will be in tomorrow

  21. DESSYBHOY on 25TH OCTOBER 2020 3:17 PM

Problem is, most did ignore their progress.

They had a decent win against Feyenoord, it’s because Feyenoord are pish. Then Porto were pish. Now Galatasaray and Liege are pish. Maybe we can keep calling Rangers “pish” and “lucky” when Slippy lifts that trophy with that smug grin on his face.

Fact is, we’ve been sleeping at the wheel while they’ve been slowly building a system and a squad that fits the system.

We still don’t know our best formation and/or first 11.

    It’s a massive concern.

Sorry but the thought of Morelos getting his hands on the SPFL trophy is making me shudder.

  22. ST TAMS on 25TH OCTOBER 2020 4:07 PM

Lennon was in almost instantly after Rodgers left. I’d be very surprised if the board weren’t at least looking around.

  23. Peter Lawwell should know that he’s next in line for a taxi down the London Road if this is lost.

We’ll be at our weakest in 20 years when this season is finished, should Lennon be allowed to continue down this path.

  24. So we sack Neil Lennon, who has an incredibly good win percentage held up against any Celtic manager.

    In history.

When he is trying to complete the quadruple treble, probably only three points adrift of the top, with 25 games still to play, in the middle of a pandemic / injury crisis that has cost him six first team players?

The guy is a winner and has NEVER let us down. He’ll win the ten, you know it.

    TJ

  25. They are . The 2 names I’ve been told are. WGS and MON.

Personally I would have neither. But that’s our forward thinking board for you

  26. Just took a peek at the zombies. They rested 4 that played against us, including Barisic, Morelos and Kamara. Formation as before 4-3-3 with everyone knowing their role. It worked 5-0 in Gibraltar, 4-0 at Willen, 2-0 against us, 2-0 at Liege, and now cruising 2-0 against Livi, who we scraped past 3-2 4 weeks ago.

What’s the difference between us and them right now? Simply put, they are organized and obviously well coached. We are just shambolic. Nuff said.
