  1. Melbourne Mick on

Well done the bhoys and ANGE, we dug in and maybe not the

Free flowing footy we all love, but job done, could be a turning

    Point in our season.

Thought big CCV was immense, hope we can secure him long

Term, men of the match ?

That magnificent support, sang their hearts out, completely

different from the white hankie multi moniker trumpets who’ve

Infiltrated this dear green place, spew your guts up the lot of

    You.

    H.H. Mick

  2. What I was thinking just before the winner was that there wasn’t much obvious ‘fight’ in the team. Maybe I was wrong but I tend to defend the team in defeat and be critical in victory. Arguably it was our worst performance yet in the league. But we won. At Pittodrie. After a hard game on Thursday.

3 points were vital and that was reflected in my nerves going into this one. It really was win or bust today. Hopefully it boosts confidence. But we need to find the midfield formula to get us through to the transfer window and we need to find more fight.

Kyogo and CCV were both brilliant today despite them both giving the ball away on occasion. CCV can defend.

Brilliant movement for our winner BTW. And a cross from DT for the first that I think was undefendable no matter what the pundits are saying about Bates putting his head on it. Great cross. Superb finish.

Anyway, I’m ignoring the rest of today’s football. But I still have this sneaky feeling……

    Up the Celts!!

  3. A back four of Juranovic, CCV, Julien and Bolingoli until January please…..and see if we want to buy a first teamer, perhaps an elusive Japanese LB.

All others for the bench please.

    HH

  4. Read back and see a number of comments on the way we play the ball out from the back.

Of course, at some point it will cost us a goal. Whether it is a significant goal or not remains to be seen.

But for all those that worry, it rarely results in a goal. After all, we have conceded possession lots of times – or deliberately put it out for a throw – and haven’t conceded yet. (Ralston in the opposition half doesn’t count).

  5. Young Montgomery looked like he was wearing lead boots when he jumped at Aberdeen’s goal. But still he persevered and made the assist that clinched it. Well done Jota who never gave up.Passing was generally poor but it just took a moment of magic from Rogic and Montgomery. Celtic players didn’t seem to know each other. I presume a lot of the poor performance – it was boring to watch – was down to not much above average players tired from mid-week exertions. Joe a bit lucky on a few occasions and his kicking out leaves much to be desired. It’s the reason why passing out from the back was introduced. Not Ralston’s best match, his passing went astray too often and he let his opponent get passed him too frequently. Still, he never hides. CV was strong except for one or two lapses, Same for Starfelt although he always looks uncomfortable in possession. Montgomery looks to have real potential but needs to improve some aspects of his game. Oh for a decent coach? Bitton was okay, nothing too adventurous, nothing too scary. Turnbull couldn’t make the killer pass all day. McGregor never really influenced the game in the way that he can. Looked tired. Kyogo off the pace but scored a real striker’s goal. Off day for Abada, nothing really worked for him and wasn’t that well served, kept not seeing Ralston’s good overlaps. Jota MOM. Lively but needs more skillful players around him. Ajeti anonymous as usual. Three things stood out for me: (i) this certainly wasn’t Angeball, it was scrappy Lennonesque stuff (ii) players don’t seem to be on the same wavelength (iii) distinct inability to switch play from one side of the park to another. I think we did it once thanks to CV but there were good opportunities missed because of that. We have an international break but most players will off here and there so won’t really get to know each other. Ralston and Montgomery will be here so they should get a lot of coaching to up their game. Same with Welsh and anyone else who is still around. I thought the referee was the least of our worries.

  6. Tom McLaughlin on

Let’s stop this nonsense of demanding Celtic lodge a complaint about the referee every Monday morning. It’s the same after every game.

Did he disallow a legitimate Celtic goal?

Did he turn down a clear Celtic penalty claim?

Did he allow an illegal Aberdeen goal?

Did he award a non-penalty to Aberdeen?

Did he red card a Celtic player?

So what would be the basis of the complaint? Oh right. Too many free-kicks.

I thought Madden was shit, but asking for club statements is just silly.

  7. Wasn’t it Madhun who gifted the victory to Hearts at the start of the season by disallowing a perfectly good goal *. (SFA Report card for the ref – good, but could do better.)

    * nottobeconfusedwithjohnhiattcsc

  8. Think we need a left footer at centre back as Starfelt isn’t comfortable as he can’t use his left foot.

Maybe Starfelt would play better on the right centre back position.

  9. Great quote from Charlie.Think of the amount of ypung men going thru this as we speak

“Mulgrew “I grew up a #Celtic fan & it took me 6 months to settle. None of these players will have played for a club like Celtic where you have to win every game. A draw is a disaster & you don’t leave yir hoose! Even Joe Hart will not have played for a club with this expectation”

  10. Superb three points in the end for Celtic, as we snatch victory from a dismal draw, the writing was on the wall for Aberdeen when Tom Rogic was waiting perched on the subs bench just like the good ole days of their nemisis. A simple short diagonal did the trick and any Celtic supporter’s bus coming home from Aberdeen, is where I want to be.

Nir Bitton did the dirty work in a revamped midfield that toiled to allow a desperately poor Aberdeen to eventually equalise after our talisman Kyogo nodded home the deserved opener. Thereafter it was a typical windy seagull day in Aberdeen, with Celtic holding out for the international break.

This will allow AP and his whispering in the ear advisor John Kennedy to take stock, and mount a sustained challenge, sometime soon. David Turnbull had a decent game and one perfect assist, in the myriad of wingers (including convert Adam Montgomery) AP let the right one in, for the winner.

    MARKIEBHOY

Just another of the white hankie multi moniker trumpets.

But you knew that eh? so obvious lol.

    H.H. Mick

  12. We should definitely call out the officials standards.

    Especially after a win.

Why should Celtic be ref’d differently?

    Time to empty The Midden.

  13. RC on 3RD OCTOBER 2021 2:20 PM

agree monty was shocking at their goal but why didn’t hart clear him and the ball out.

    —————————————–

He assumed Monty would get it as he should have. But I think it would have been better if he had decided to brush Monty aside.

  14. I see the huns are back ahah. Not a cheap till Aberdeen equalise and now telling us all how woeful we are.

    Brilliant

  15. what’s an inverted fullback ? I honestly don’t know.

don’t expect an answer from our 2 today

  16. Madhun is the most anti Celtic referee in the SPL which is some going giving the likes of Beaton and Clancy. We had 63% possession yet we had 27 fouls to their 10 and 3 yellow cards to their 0. This is blatant cheating and should be called out. ThE boy who went through Kyogo wasn’t even spoken never mind carded. I’m surprised that he didn’t give them a penalty after CCV cleared after Hart saved.

  17. BIG WAVY

    Agreed.

MOM Rigic for pass leading up to goal.

    Nobody else deserves it.

Although he wasn’t the worst hopefully that’s the trial of Bitton over.

  18. park the bus n blootir it on

Tippy tappy stuff too evident before we reach opposition box.

Hart playing tease bill in our own box?

    Asking for a skelp?

    Two wingers?

Dodgy defence without a protective m/field wall?

Still no big rummle them up big long ball oot guy?

Away win = grab it. hh

  19. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Well done young Montgomery for setting up the winner. Had a tough 90 mins, but these experiences will be the making of him. Showed real character and perseverance.

We are really rough and hard to watch, but that could be very significant today.

    Come on the Hibees.

  20. Not going to much into it,not after a win,but I see CCV being praised, rightly so,but Star felt, who was terrific defensively alongside, hardly a mention. Two FBs very poor,so praise surely for two CBs.

  21. Everything Celtic

“We’ve identified targets and begun discussions before we get to January so that we can conclude deals a lot quicker than we did in the previous window.”

He also reiterated his desire to utilise the Japanese market as their season will be over.

  22. St Tams,

Give it a rest with Biton. He was best midfielder on the park today.Passing was superb.

  23. Agreed on Starfely and CCV..dealt with everything thrown at them.

FB’s now a serious issue. Josip Juranović wil make a difference at RB, Ralston just isn’t good enough.

  24. lets all do the huddle on

the biggest fear during the 2nd half was the madhun giving them a penalty. he would have been itching to do it

the sheeps had a clear tactic of falling over every time they sensed a celtic player behind them then jump up and complain to madhun about how many times they had been ‘fouled’ so he would have been chomping at the bit for a similar thing to happen in thebox

and their full back Ramsay just looks a horrible angry hun rastard, always has a scowl on his scrawny face
