HT Aberdeen 0-0 Celtic
Good competitive first half. Not a lot of good football played, but it is like Pittodrie games of old, with a robust Aberdeen team with a good sized home crowd behind them.
Not often we’ve seen 45 mins from Celtic with only 1 attempt on target. The pitch is not suited to our game as the ball is bobbling around all over the place. Aberdeen defending high up the pitch and forcing Craig Gordon to distribute the ball long every time he has it. This has prevented us from building from the back and has knocked us off our stride. Young Fisher had a slow start but grew in confidence and was pushing forward more towards the end of the half and had a good effort just over. Again, the ball bobbled before he hit it which made it tough to keep down.
Izzy also doing well down the left hand side. It’s our midfield where we have struggled as they have found it hard to find any space. The last 10 mins were our best spell. Hopefully Ronny will find a way to get our normal game going in the second half.

Celtic looking every in champions and well worthy of the eleven point margin Sky managed not to mention.
Very much a dead rubber of a first half, with RD opting for caution and certainly no need for his players to be chasing a meaningless points, bursting a gut.
Interesting side Ronny has put out, which began to show it’s class as the half wore on, expect Celtic to start to punish the gaps Aberdeen are leaving chasing a pyrrhic victory.

Wonder if Sky will show the penalty appeal we had just before HT. Just like they showed the pass back to CG hitting his chest?
Wouldn’t be a wee bit of selective analysis going on there surely?

The game has a bit of an edge for an end of season game…Aberdeen well up for the game and our bhoys have had to get up for it….Griffiths struggling with a high defensive line and the offside rule…plenty space behind if we time our runs right…
Armstrong needs to toughen up a bit….but rest of the boys are more than holding their own
Logan seems to have not been forgiven by our team and their is guaranteed to be a red in this game …my money is on broonie…

The last game we had up there was scrappy too, I don’t expect anything else with the ref and dons working together to disrupt and flow to the game

Ffs Walker even says it was a penalty…..IF it was at the other end it would have been.
Scrappy game. Dons playing a high def line catching us offside a few times. And keeps Leigh 30-40 yds from goal when playing off shoulder of last defender. Doesn’t leave much room/time to pick out our through ball.
Clever by McInnes.
Thought we struggled with this at first.
Dons looking for free kicks to lump long balls into box.
We need to be more savvy about conceding free kicks in dangerous places.
Overall, looking like a typical end of season affair, where 8pt leaders go away to 2nd place side, knowing league is win. Only pride at stake.

This seems to be Dons game of the season, they are up for it – fair enough.
They are getting a wee bit of a helping hand from Thopson et Co – to be expected.
So, another stonewaller turned down. Aye, these things even themselves out over the season……………………………Tosh.

Someone running from deep will beat their offside trap, beat it once and it will crumble

Happy enough with first half. I think Ronny is experimenting so a clean sheet, no injuries and no red cards will suffice for me. Johanson full of energy as usual but Commons hasn’t been in it much. I reckon the ghood ghuys will shade it.

If these things even themselves out over a season we’re in for a good last couple of games.
RWE on
It was a poor football first half.
Very scrappy but two clear chances for us.
SJ and Darnell.
Robson, Rooney et all biffing their way around the park and then falling over at the slightest opportunity.
Thomson as usual gives a performance that would embarrass a Sunday Park official.
Not helped by assistants who raise their flag when the home fans howl.
Cosy Corner Bhoy on
Very disjointed first half. Mixing long and short balls makes it difficult for the front man/men. Don’t know which ball to expect. Short passing game wins for me all the time.

C’mon the hoops.
No finesse about the game. Played in blustery conditions.
However, I think we will get fed up messing about. With the big punt and sort them out in the second half.
We have a bit of end of season languor about us, understandably.
That was a good pen shout
But it was no stonewaller
Considine blocked him and withdrew his arm once he unbalanced Darnel
A clever foul he got away with
