I feel he will show improvement with more games. Liked the passing stats someone posted indicating 11/13 complete and the 2 misplaced did not cause serious problems.
He does like players to show for him and our mid need to give him options ir it’s going long

I wouldn’t think that defeats to Malmo, and Aberdeen give much of a reason to be optimistic on Thursday.
I don’t get it.
I think its more likely another defeat, unless the players begin to realise their recent efforts are unacceptable.
We will find out soon.

I don’t want to get into a debate over the long-term strategy of the club but you are letting the players and the coach off just to stick the boot into PL like you do every week
Celtic are a much better paid team than Aberdeen, Malmo and Kilmarnock. The team cannot defend set pieces against agricultural opponents. Again.
Id love to see the bhoys put on a great performance for the supporters v Ajax.
I don’t care if we get beat….just give it a go with a bit of Celtic heart and courage, ..that would make me happy.
I want to see Celtic play like Celtic.

You could also argue that our loss (to Inverness who were on form at the time) and Dundee were direct equivalents to what has a happened so far this season.
The new recruits are still bedding in, so it’s definitely not time for panic stations.

I’ve had a bee in my bonnet ever since Neil McCann contrived to have Derk branded a cheat.
To me there is no difference to the penalty given to Aberdeen this weekend than the one he won at St Johnstone.
Both forwards played for contact & both took a dive, yet only one is banned and branded a cheat.
For the avoidance of doubt both for me are penalties & excellent striker play but I see little to no difference in either incident.
I ask again, does anyone know of another player since Derk who has been banned retrospectively from conning a pen?

He can try and get wide men to cross for our two strikers ( but PL refused to buy a 2nd one)
He can try and get his defenders to defend
(But in the case of our Center Halfs they are not good at defending That costs money )
Our plan at present is to hope for the best at CL qualifiers against teams like Malmö Maribor legia etc. but we don’t plan for CL and end up losing massive amounts of income
Result all we can afford is 2nd or 3rd rate players like boyata or Blackett
Ronny wanted experience. But pl will not sanction a transfer for “dead money ” ie no sell on value. Forget what that player could do for the team over two years or so
So sorry PL strategy has a knock on effect on what happens on park
What could Mon do with a players like that maybe a little better tactically. But with one striker !!! And no Center halfs!!

Gary Neville was commentating on the Man U v Liverpool game & he said someone needs to tell the Liverpool CB’s they are not very good footballers. I think Derk needs to be told this ASAP lol
Some of his passing is X-rated, so it’s good to see those stats but no doubt he needs to improve on his distribution big time. I think there’s a decent CB in there, hopefully he gets a settled partner in Simunovic to play along side. I think he’ll come good.
Blackett on the other hand was awful on his debut there was nothing to his game that looked positive. Not clever to judge a player on one performance but he looks a real dud to me.

The defeats at Malmo and Aberdeen were down to players not doing their defensive job properly. The manager needs to boot a few erses and get defenders doing the simple things right. Also Ronny needs to take off the blinkers regarding Johansen and get him dropped till his attitude changes. Some of the hysteria on here is ridiculous. we have no good given right to beat anybody but we can succeed with hard work and doing the basic stuff correctly.

We lost by an o.g to ICT last season in a team with 10 changes before a do or die at home to Maribor. It’s not really the same.
The Dundee game was right after going out of the CL as well.
The problem is not the same because we face an organized opponent who are on a winning streak. We cannot afford to fall further behind at this stage. If they win at Tynecastle, then they are not going away and should they leave Glasgow on Halloween still top of the league or further ahead the board are very likely to push the panic button.

Saturday was the first time I had seen Blackett in a competitve match.
Not impressed.
Kieran Tierney would have been a better option imo. He is our player after all, and a good one at that. Blackett will be away at the end of the season.
