    Thanks mate.

    Roasters, moi, never…:)

Stevie Frail, now you ask. I believe he would quit when something else would come along. Now as I understand he is has not gone on to something else…mmmm.

I believe from what I have heard there were differences of opinion, did we really need to sign a RB…mmmm.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  4. AK-the old adage was only sign a player if he is better than what you have, early days I know , but us Ciftci better than Stokes, Blackett better than Izzy? HH

We are downsizing as we have always done. Why is it now that you are getting upset?

The question I want answered is why are we paying players over £5ooo a week to play in the SPFL? It’s madness, you can’t build a team playing in our league by paying wages to players that dwarth those on offer to other clubs.

Celtic fans today need a reality check, we are a third rate club in a forth rate league, get used to it and just accept we are what we are.

Really ? 6 years at a small town Norwegian club is real experience?

At his last club it took him SIX years to get things right -are you really suggesting that we give him six years to see if he can turn the Big Book of Coaching from the chapter on 4-3-2-1 to something else? Cos that what it looks like from where I sit in main stand. A slavish adherence to a system that we just don’t have the players to play – no real defensive mids on the books – LG being asked to carry the forward role!

He is slow to see patterns of play develop and slower to make changes that actually affect the outcome of games in a positive way!

BGS – PL and the players from Twitter and KDS

  7. HT-Allegedly told the lapdogs that if a Celtic defender had put same challenge in for our penalty, it would have been a red card. We know that to be the case , but he will maybe get banned by the clowns at Hampden.HH

Ronny keeps getting described as a rookie manager but he ranks as 8th out of 18 Celtic managers in terms of prior experience.

I think that is a bridge we will cross if it comes to it but ultimately it would end up in court and I doubt SFA would want that.

I didn’t say I was getting upset mate I said supporters who attend games are asking questions, with good cause in my opinion.

I do understand where you’re coming from with wages. However, we pay the money to attract better players. Our difficulty is that we pay salaries high enough to take the best in Scotland but not high enough to entice those who’ll make a difference in Europe.

  11. Doc, you couldn’t have read it in that time

I know what you’re saying but isn’t he right in saying what we all think?

Ps well done the GB for their banner at Pittodrie yesterday.

  13. Croppy

    We’re getting into diferent territory.

You possibly deliberately missed out Tony Mowbray due to his experience ( in losing ). I don’t fully subscribe to the ‘absentee landlord’ theory, despite DD’s obvious absenteeism, and his remote soundbytes like ‘WGS was great for the balance sheet’

The biggest counter against being absent, is that Minty Murray hardly missed a game during the fraudulent ‘nine in a row’.

How did that turn out? – don’t compare I know, I know

Money won’t be pumped into the empty seats at CP not now or ever, it’s over done and good night, every penny is accounted for and ‘ we pay the bills ‘, if we get 13M in, we sure as hell won’t put 13M out.

I’m sure PL is ‘the de facto head of footbal l’ and his role is is replicated around most big clubs in the SPL, and definitely the EPL, and example of which could be Manchester Utd signed Luke Shaw before Louis Van Gaal had ever heard of him.

You got the last bit spot on, – if things don’t work out for Ronny Deila or Louis Van Gaal or Jose Mourinho or yada, yada ‘they’ll’ drop the manager .

    Hail Hail

  14. HT-I agree mate, but he is their current go to guy for a soundbite. We really need to start getting streetwise on and off the park.New players should be shown how the MIBs work in this country, Thomson was waiting on any contact on Shinnie, step forward Boyata.Rope a dope stuff.HH

I didn`t think that anything could make the Malmo defeat more painful.

    This does

    =========================================================

While losing to Malmo had no bearing on the loss of Van Dijk, that defeat in Sweden did cost Celtic the services of Jason Denayer who was set to rejoin the Scottish Champions from Manchester City for another season’s loan, had Celtic made it into in the Champions League.

Denayer’s own preference was for a return to Celtic and Manchester City were prepared to allow this move to happen IF Celtic had reached the group stages.

  16. Time to put yesterday’s fiasco behind us and concentrate on Thursday

Three pieces of advice for RD

    1) Dont have a defender making his debut away from home in a European match, in what is likely to be our most difficult match.

    2) If we manage to get a goal ahead, as we did against Maribor, Legia, Malmö etc , don’t **** it up by trying to score another and leaving our defense exposed.

    3) Your ‘in match’ decision making has regularly been shown to be poor,I don’t expect you to have a pre-prepared solution for everything, but have some pre planned ideas around a sending off, a key injury etc.

    #simples

  17. Macjay – I’m not sure I buy that. City say those 6 games at the start of the season are the tipping point for his development.

  18. Cowiebhoy

    Fair do’s but,

The opening of the window to the first qualifier is always virtually impossible to hurdle.

We wouldn’t sell VVD, just like Zagreb wouldn’t sell Simunovic.

  19. croppybhoy @10:03 pm

    “SFTB

Really ? 6 years at a small town Norwegian club is real experience?”

Yes, 6 years in the top division of Norwegian football is real experience. They once had a bic club domination from Rosenborg and Ronny, amongst others broke it. If Thistle’s manager could win the league here, we’d be clammering to bring him to Celtic.

As for small town- makes it all the more remarkable. Jock had managed Dunfermline, Tommy Burns – Kilmarnock and Davie Hay- Motherwell. Don’t think they can afford to look down on Stormgodset. There are over 60k people in Drammen. Motherwell has 30k and Kilmarnock 46k.

“At his last club it took him SIX years to get things right -are you really suggesting that we give him six years”

It took him 5 years to win the league with that club, their 2nd ever title and their first since 1970. He also won them a cup and a 2nd place. he got 6 years with Stormgodset to “get it right” as you, underwhelmingly, describe it. He achieved the same destination in one year with Celtic- so why would I be putting any arbitrary time limit on this?

“to see if he can turn the Big Book of Coaching from the chapter on 4-3-2-1 to something else? Cos that what it looks like from where I sit in main stand. A slavish adherence to a system that we just don’t have the players to play – no real defensive mids on the books – LG being asked to carry the forward role!”

It’s just a system. Lots of teams play that system well and lots play it badly. Same with 4:4:2 or 3:5:2. They are just numbers representing layout of players, at times on a field. They win nothing and they lose nothing. We were no better with Ciftci up front alongside Griffiths so the system is not at fault. We have the players we have because of the economic circumstances we are in. We are not about to land superstars any time soon. I have seen derided players (Wanyama, Ki, Forster, Bitton) develop and improve after they were dismissed by punters in all 4 stands. Leigh is doing a good job of carrying the forward role. It is his rivals for the position who have to step up.

“He is slow to see patterns of play develop and slower to make changes that actually affect the outcome of games in a positive way!”

And yet he won the league with Stromgodset & Celtic, and all of us who are criticising him, have won what exactly? Personally, I think he could buy and sell 99.9% of CQN posters in analysing a game and telling you what was going on. He has made a career out of it in a hard competitive industry.

Anyway, Sportscene is on and I must indulge my masochistic streak

    Just a wee thought.

People smuggling is a crime. Correct?

It is a criminal act to pay someone to commit a crime. Correct?

    Criminal acts are illegal. Correct?

Stop Press…………..34 drowned off a Greek Island.

  21. I heard he was dead on

    SFTBs

That is some claim – he did what he did in Norway in a year in Scotland because he inherited Neil Lennon’s team and it took him long enough to get them to play especially after dropping the player of the previous year for too many matches.

He won a one team league with the most expensively assembled squad.

It was the very least expected of him and he had to weaken our cup final opponents into winning the other cup.

He’s not a great manager, he’s not Norway’s answer to Dortmund’s Klopp as some people tried to paint him when he turned up.

He’s an average manager who is being found out and found wanting.

  22. What have I missed Bhoys and Ghals?

Wee thought. We seem to start games better than we continue and finish them.

    McLean. You’re an orange bassa.

Finally – 3 guys did nothing to stop their winner. Gordon, Broonie and Blackett.

  24. Interesting new rule in Scottish football according to Willie Miller – two half penalties equal an actual pen!

  25. Even though United lost yesterday their are suspicions that they are well up on the Cifti Mackay deals!

  26. After being at Pittodrie and watching the highlights my opinion is this.

    Aberdeen should have scored more.

We had 2 net bound shots in the game.

What was Brown doing at their second goal?

Straight red for the foul on Gtiffiths.

    Penalty for Charlie’s handball.

    Penalty for Boyata’s foolish challenge.

Red card for the guy kicking Lustig in the head.

Yellow card for the Hayes challenge on Lustig.

We were awful on the day.

    We’ll still win the league.

  27. Craigellachie10 on 13th September 2015 10:49 pm

Lustig kicked in the head…………………………….according to willie miller yeah it was a rash challenge but it was ok because he went for the ball ? in addition the fourth official plus assistant referee running the line had a clear view of it, and took no action ? lol

Professionals eh what are they like
