The question I want answered is why are we paying players over £5ooo a week to play in the SPFL? It’s madness, you can’t build a team playing in our league by paying wages to players that dwarth those on offer to other clubs.
Celtic fans today need a reality check, we are a third rate club in a forth rate league, get used to it and just accept we are what we are.

Ps well done the GB for their banner at Pittodrie yesterday.
You possibly deliberately missed out Tony Mowbray due to his experience ( in losing ). I don’t fully subscribe to the ‘absentee landlord’ theory, despite DD’s obvious absenteeism, and his remote soundbytes like ‘WGS was great for the balance sheet’
The biggest counter against being absent, is that Minty Murray hardly missed a game during the fraudulent ‘nine in a row’.
How did that turn out? – don’t compare I know, I know
Money won’t be pumped into the empty seats at CP not now or ever, it’s over done and good night, every penny is accounted for and ‘ we pay the bills ‘, if we get 13M in, we sure as hell won’t put 13M out.
I’m sure PL is ‘the de facto head of footbal l’ and his role is is replicated around most big clubs in the SPL, and definitely the EPL, and example of which could be Manchester Utd signed Luke Shaw before Louis Van Gaal had ever heard of him.
You got the last bit spot on, – if things don’t work out for Ronny Deila or Louis Van Gaal or Jose Mourinho or yada, yada ‘they’ll’ drop the manager .

I didn`t think that anything could make the Malmo defeat more painful.
While losing to Malmo had no bearing on the loss of Van Dijk, that defeat in Sweden did cost Celtic the services of Jason Denayer who was set to rejoin the Scottish Champions from Manchester City for another season’s loan, had Celtic made it into in the Champions League.
Denayer’s own preference was for a return to Celtic and Manchester City were prepared to allow this move to happen IF Celtic had reached the group stages.
Time to put yesterday’s fiasco behind us and concentrate on Thursday
Three pieces of advice for RD
1) Dont have a defender making his debut away from home in a European match, in what is likely to be our most difficult match.
2) If we manage to get a goal ahead, as we did against Maribor, Legia, Malmö etc , don’t **** it up by trying to score another and leaving our defense exposed.
3) Your ‘in match’ decision making has regularly been shown to be poor,I don’t expect you to have a pre-prepared solution for everything, but have some pre planned ideas around a sending off, a key injury etc.
Really ? 6 years at a small town Norwegian club is real experience?”
Yes, 6 years in the top division of Norwegian football is real experience. They once had a bic club domination from Rosenborg and Ronny, amongst others broke it. If Thistle’s manager could win the league here, we’d be clammering to bring him to Celtic.
As for small town- makes it all the more remarkable. Jock had managed Dunfermline, Tommy Burns – Kilmarnock and Davie Hay- Motherwell. Don’t think they can afford to look down on Stormgodset. There are over 60k people in Drammen. Motherwell has 30k and Kilmarnock 46k.
“At his last club it took him SIX years to get things right -are you really suggesting that we give him six years”
It took him 5 years to win the league with that club, their 2nd ever title and their first since 1970. He also won them a cup and a 2nd place. he got 6 years with Stormgodset to “get it right” as you, underwhelmingly, describe it. He achieved the same destination in one year with Celtic- so why would I be putting any arbitrary time limit on this?
“to see if he can turn the Big Book of Coaching from the chapter on 4-3-2-1 to something else? Cos that what it looks like from where I sit in main stand. A slavish adherence to a system that we just don’t have the players to play – no real defensive mids on the books – LG being asked to carry the forward role!”
It’s just a system. Lots of teams play that system well and lots play it badly. Same with 4:4:2 or 3:5:2. They are just numbers representing layout of players, at times on a field. They win nothing and they lose nothing. We were no better with Ciftci up front alongside Griffiths so the system is not at fault. We have the players we have because of the economic circumstances we are in. We are not about to land superstars any time soon. I have seen derided players (Wanyama, Ki, Forster, Bitton) develop and improve after they were dismissed by punters in all 4 stands. Leigh is doing a good job of carrying the forward role. It is his rivals for the position who have to step up.
“He is slow to see patterns of play develop and slower to make changes that actually affect the outcome of games in a positive way!”
And yet he won the league with Stromgodset & Celtic, and all of us who are criticising him, have won what exactly? Personally, I think he could buy and sell 99.9% of CQN posters in analysing a game and telling you what was going on. He has made a career out of it in a hard competitive industry.
Anyway, Sportscene is on and I must indulge my masochistic streak
