James Forrest, great article, spot on….and you are right, change will come, sure as night follows day.

Its time to face the music.

    Rogan Josh?!

Did he no play for Celtic back in the day?

Or am I thinking of Josh Rogan?!

A long hard week, indeed. Our main hope of avoiding that is for the players to start performing like they were at the start of the year.

And Ronny has to start paying attention to events in front of him. Too often he seems unable to react to how the game is unfolding.

    Alternatively,there’s always prayer…

    Rogan Josh?

I`ve been out of the curry loop for a goodly number of years.

A lamb Korma at the Shish on Gibson St. was seen as pretty wild.

    Things have changed then ?

Is “doing a runner” still a goer?

I think prayer is part of our strategy for Thursday. The prayer being that Ajax have declined even more than we have since we last met.

Ah well off to listen to people moan that their Apple Pay does not work

Stunning day as I travel to the Big G.

Helping to lighten my mood after Saturday. Big week ahead. Pretty concerned about Thursday. Our team currently know each other less well than they did at the very start of the season.

It’s mid September. The season started 2 months ago. Shouldn’t be.

Doing a runner is highly undignified. Especially at my age.

But The Shish Mahal was a regular haunt for a while in the 80s.

At the time,The Sunday Mail declared The Shish as the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow,The Koh-I-Noor was a close second.

Third was my local one in Ardrossan,The Sangeet. Their Special Chilli was amazing. I asked the waiter how hot it was and he replied-Put it this way,I wouldn’t eat it!

  10. Feeling rough today bhoys….not a hangover:)

Don’t feel up to much….so I hope someone can rant on my behalf a bit today.

    Cheers:)

  11. Bad as the result was on Saturday, the body language of our players worries me more. Ajax away is a good tie to show that they are made of though.

I would love to see the stats for our win percentage when Craig Thomson is refereeing in comparison with others. He’s a cheat, although we were poor.

  12. Watched the game on Celtic tv hole the wife slept.

She came downstairs around noon and said so Celtic won?

I said no they lost to 10 men.

She then asked why aren’t you in a filthy mood?

It’s got me questioning why it does not have the same emotional pull it once held.?

The general apathy has also affected members of my family who are season ticket holders but often skip games.

I feel the custodians have to look at themselves for the disaffected way many lifelong supporters feel.

The Craig Thompson Show…I call it.

Without fail….every time he is involved in a televised match….he causes it.

    Especially against us.

And that’s why…we need a better team on the pitch to negate the cheating.

    Always been that way….shocking.

“Most people would consider ”the league” to mean the top league.

Bringing those two managers into your argument to defend your point is silly because they are not our rivals in the first place”

It was meant to be silly. I thought that was obvious. If I had been serious I would have suggested Pellegrini last year and he is still in a job- (outspent rather than dwarves all others)

Managers with bigger budgets than the opposition who fail to win the league they are in (or in one case get promotion) don’t keep their jobs.

See Pellegrini. See Harry Redknapp in the lower divisions.

“The same rules apply with Ronny Deila. Should he lose this league, the results will be catastrophic but people like you will be sitting in April telling us how Ronny is the man and Aberdeen will fold.

    It’s simply not credible anymore.”

You are right. It is not credible because it is not April, it is September. We would both lose money predicting what each other will be saying in Decemebr far less April.

  15. The Green Man,

    Agreed.

He’s sleakit though. If he sees a chink in our armour he effectively exploits it. Unfortunately on Saturday it wasn’t too difficult to spot our weaknesses.

  16. I think there is a solution though…technological one.

We get ourselves a 3D Printer…source a huge vat of Black Goo(Google it), loads of micro chips.

And hey presto…we can make our own programmable football players.

    The Future eh:)

The PLC would love it…no transfer fees.

    SFTBs

England is not a fair comparison either given the level of competition there and the number of sides with apparent money to burn. In Scottish terms what I told you is fact and as we don’t play in England and never will, it’s a nonsense point.

You’ll still be supporting Deila when we’re 5 points down on Tuesday against an opponent who don’t face 11 men behind the ball every week, no European football distractions and we’re playing Sunday matches when they’ve already played 5 times out of 6.

That;s your prerogative but with a dressing room rift apparently going on because the manager called them scared and his insistence on zonal marking shipping late goals on a match by match basis I don’t like those odds.

And neither will the board if it goes to 8 or 10 points especially after a refereeing performance like that one – get used to that. It’s here to stay.

  22. I’m in my fifty ninth year and had followed the team for most of my life. I can’t actually remember the first Celtic match my dad took me with his pals and my uncle jimmy. Last saturday I spoke to my son after the match and he was surprised I hadn’t launched into a rant about Deila being a dud and Lawwell and Desmond’s downsizing of the team. The truth is I can’t arsed anymore. The heart and soul has been ripped out of the club and with it my support. I used to sing,”We don’t care if we win, lose or draw”.Now I just don’t care. My message to the Happy Clapper brigade. I was once you. One day you will be me.

Good Morning bhoys a lovely sunny summer morning here.I am looking forward to the game on Thursday it will give the team the chance to show that we can compete in Europe. I am supporting Ronny 100% he will turn it around and we will get back into a winning groove. H.H.

    Darn the hair we care”

The silly embarrassing sanitised version of the Celtic song brought out `62 or so,by Glen Daly.

Here`s the Terracing version. The words the punters used. The correct version.

We don`t care what the Rangers ( or ” animals ” ) say

What the hell do we care.

Jungle Jim Hot Smoke. Supporting the hoops you will have seen many ups and downs for our club. However,I dont know if you would agree or not but I find as I age I mellow and say to myself I have seen it all before.Like life its self football has many ups and downs but the good days for our great club will return does that make me a happy clapper ? I admire your spirit….and wise words indeed.

I agree with what you say, and it would be my default position on most things in life, a calm approach.

However….when its comes to Celtic…im a totally different person, it drives me up the wall, and I should know better after watching the team for almost half a century.

But I just cant stand the way things are going.

    But…im not ranting today.

  31. I usually avoid CQN after a defeat as the endless “PL oot” and “happy clapper” debates make me cry

However, I don’t have an issue with zonal marking itself. It’s a system that can work perfectly well when done properly. We used it just fine under WGS and NL. The main weakness of zonal marking is when a player in a designated zone is standing static and an opposition player gets a running jump on them and beats them to the ball.

The ball dropped onto Quinn’s foot in the penalty box. That’s not a failure of the system, it’s a failure of the players. To put it simple, that would have been an area designated to a couple of players and they could have attacked the ball without a Dons challenge if they were on the ball.

And the goalie? I think he gets away with a lot. Needed to command his box.

That being said, it’s early in the season and we need to integrate young players like Ciftci, Blackett, Boyata etc. I think these guys will get better.

This time last season there was already a “Ronny oot” section within the Celtic support and he won them back. He could certainly do it again.

Though I am disappointed we have had another poor start to the season. Last season was understandable as it was a transitional season. Two seasons in a row? Maybe we need to rejig how we prepare for a new season

  32. Morning, rift in the dressing room is this fact? All because RD said the players were scared, can the players not handle the truth? cause they looked as though they shat it to me.

We are falling for this press hype, it’s building up do desperation stages for someone other than Celtic to win the league, last night on Sportscene they’re rambling on about no one out with the “oldfirm” winning the league in thirty years.

    “I’ve given up caring”….. oh dear…

We’ll I do care and won’t give up till I’m dead.
