Agents talk to the media when they are not talking to Celtic

1126

One of the problems of doing your business discretely is that if and when agents or selling clubs publicise your interest in their player, media attention has a tendency to attribute too much focus on the most recent name revealed.  Teemu Pukki is a player Celtic have been trailing for some months but the fact that his agent yesterday revealed their interest is no indication that he enjoys any pre-eminence over others strikers being considered.  If anything, briefings from the agent are an indication of the opposite.

Reports yesterday that Pukki is backup in case a bid for Finnbogason fails are also wide of the mark; this is not the active path Celtic are working on.  There are (at least) two other strikers under consideration, neither of whom have directly or indirectly leaked the discussions.

Nothing sells media adverts like transfer ‘news’, which is fair enough, but news is easier to find than the actual story. This is a ‘no news’ article, the easiest of all. No panicking in the back…

Today I am going to count my blessings that so far in my life my 3 children have never suffered more than the usual childhood maladies and injuries .

This evening I will go home and hug each one , even the 17 year old who would rather chew an onion than cuddle her dad . I’m going to do that and thank the Lord for my luck.

I cannot convey adequately my sympathy and sorrow for Oscar and his family ,they are in my thoughts and prayers

I am selfish enough to hope I am never presented with such a test of strength and character

No it’s blatant stupidity ,ask my daughter :))

  6. Had BT Sport on yesterday when I found out it was available on Virgin XL… cringeworthy amateur stuff on whatever talk show was on, looked very much like a tv station in it’s infancy, but delighted to have it included in the package as I was a tad radge that ESPN had been dropped after just signing up with Virgin.

Paul67, Celtic use leaks to the media as much as anyone to further their own agenda. Agents are simply doing the same thing.

This suggestion of a grand plan with numerous targets being pursued is utter nonsense. Transfer strategy is being made up on the hoof and the reason we haven’t signed a striker is because Peter Lawell thinks we don’t need one to beat Karagandy.

The usual last day fiasco awaits.

Well bhoys, in support of Mackenzie Furniss the CQN predictor for season 2013/14 stands at a might 63 entries. 4 more to get to that magic number. A big thank you.

Remember to change your moniker as well before Sunday 6pm, so that Wee Oscar’s family benefits as well.

    Can’t see it happening

A few years ago Gretna had a sugar daddy and made rapid progress through the Scottish Leagues, reaching the top division and a Cup Final.

Before Mileson stepped in Gretna had traditionally played all their football in England [Northern Premier League], levels 7 and 8 on the pyramid.

If Gretna had stayed in English football even with Mileson’s money they would have struggled to reach Div 4 [ FL2 in new money]

Celtic Nation are currently at level 9, a long, long way to go up the very difficult English League pyramid.

    Emotions can sometimes overcome rationale.

Oscar is a topic where we all have an emotional interest.
