    Never want the orcs to win. But it’s not the worst thing for us football wise if they get to the group stages. There is an advantage in not playing on Thursday nights being the main thing.

     

     

    Anyway, they need skelped on Sunday. Hope our bhoys are well prepped and ready for the shenanigans

    Think we are Pot 2, I assume the Huns are Pot 4. Is there an arrangement to keep teams from same League apart at this stage or could we get them in our Group.

    Seriously though Gerrard running celebration is up there with David Pleat from the 1980s!

     

    I never thought they would go to that extreme at a one nil win over a poor polish team to reach the Europa group stages.

     

    From what I saw of the game on polish tv Legia missed 4 golden chances to score.

    Wanted them skelped but just maybe it might all work out and the harder game schedule could cause them to drop League points. How about them drawing Arsenal & KT doing a number on them.

    Well done tonight bhoys – 6-1 on aggregate to the Champions of a country which makes regular appearances at Euro and World cups – I think that score might be up there with our best ever ‘non-minnow’ skelping.

     

     

    Watched some of der Hun – blocking crosses will be vital, this is a key tactic for them. At the back Katie and Goldsen won everything in the air – we need to be fast, on the deck and turn them.

    What a stupid post. I don’t hate Lenny but I didn’t want him appointed manager, like thousands of others. He has many faults as manager. Cluj has been well documented. He did well tonight and I’m very glad but he’s a hit and a miss. Why did he not take Odsonne off after 60 or 65 minutes? I’ll get behind him while he’s here but I want someone better.

    Fine win tonight by the Bhoys.

     

     

    Saddened that the new team fae Govan won too but at least they will have to play as many games as us (except most of our lhads will have to play internationals as well).

     

     

    Hope we win in their apology of a ground on Sunday (otherwise CQN will be unBEARable again), even with a patched up defence. Our midfield and forward line should prove way too much for them, although the MIB and his fellow travellers will probably have some “contribution” to make.

     

     

    Honest mistakes may again be the order of the day….

    Night and day difference between quality of teams in Europe’s two competitions.

     

     

    We have an opportunity to burst their bubble on Sunday. The pressure is on them to win. A win for us and it’s a massive advantage even this early in the season. A draw is a good result. We lose, we’ve a game in hand at CP to get it back. Go for it, Celtic.

    I’m chilled about Sevco going through too .. need all the coefficient points we can get .. winning the league will be easier and will be a chuckle watching them get hammered by uefa and any half decent European team .. they can’t keep their contorted poisonous gobs shut. Legoland will be empty for their group stage matches.

    4-1, away from home a great score and some scintillating attacking play, Eddie, James, Ryan and Mikey all give me hope and happiness, We are however still a worry at the back and to a stronger side could be put to the sword. At mo I do not see any players that have suitably replaced KT, Benko or Boyata and that is my worry. I know it takes time for players to settle, but we have destabilised in this area which is not clever.

    Thanks to the 21 folk who have already emailed CQNPOTY@GMAIL.COM with their choices for our 3 best performers tonight. I don’t want to influence the votes whilst the polls remain open, but I can tell you that 9 different players have already had at least 1 vote.

     

    In case you’ve not seen my earlier posts about this, it’s just a bit of fun in trying to determine this season’s CQN player of the year. So, on a game by game basis, you can choose your 3 best performers and email your votes in. I’ll then add up the numbers and the player with most votes will get 5 points for that game, next best will get 4, etc.

     

    For the AIK Stockholm game you have until 10.00pm on Saturday to vote. I’ll then reveal the results sometime between then and kick ff on Sunday.

     

    I don’t plan to read EVERY post that’s made on here and certainly won’ be scrolling back 18 pages tonight! So, it’s only votes by email that will be counted.

     

    I’ll stick out regular reminders on the blog as each game comes around. You don’t need to sign up or anything, and you don’t need to vote on every game (please just do so for those games that you actually see the whole 90 minutes!). It’d help if you also mention your Blog Name in your email, although there’s no obligation.

    Good point, and I agree, they are dangerous from the wide areas, as illustrated tonight by Jones setting Al-fray-doe up for the winner.

     

    Unfortunately we defended the wide areas very poorly tonight. I lost count of the number of dangerous crosses we had to defend tonight. Hopefully some of our defensive players on the injury list, can play a part on Sunday.

     

    I hope Eddie will be available too.
