Honestly F I thought aside from the goal we were really poor in the first half. When have we given the ball away so easily?

    Ps YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!!!!

  2. I ask for Celtic to UNLEASH HELL ! earlier today…………..indeed they did !

    Superb Celtic

The negativity has enpven infected the Grauniad reporting.

There must be a media Ludge bounty to mention the 17 game stat.

    Herd instinct aka crap journalism,

  4. The Daily Rag reporting “scuffles” and “skirmishes” involving our fans . Good Gawd , it must be just like Manchester 2008 for goodness sake .

As to the Spanish ref blessing himself I think he may have been impersonating the Sevco players at Sunday Mass !

    Has Broony pulled a hammy?

The hope. He felt a twinge and decided not to push it .

He seemed reasonably comfortable in the walk off.

*rest him on Saturday and pull him out of the national squad for a well deserved rest.

  6. Best away performance for a decade and yet some numpties describing it as “poor” at half time. I can only assume you never followed celtic pre MON

    Don’t forget Hercule Pouriet !

  8. Well, fantastic result, terrible performance, apart from the two CHs.Shocking exhibition of passing.Just WTF happens sometimes. Its our strong point.I thought Calmac coming on would have made the difference, but he was as bad.I thought Armstrong should have started the game.I have had this feeling that Rogic is a bit slow for away games.

Anyway, off and running, and Bayern in all sorts of internal disputes.3 rd goal kills off Anderlecht in head to head,so lets go at the Germans.Nothing to lose.

    Agreed about Saturday.

    Reassess after that .

Would love him to help Scotland and wee Gordon.

  11. Who are these Celtic fans, not supporters, who come on here after a European victory and behalf like the media? We could all make comments about this or that which went wrong. But like so many others on here I am just delighted we won. What a performance from our two GBs and of course, Broonie.

  12. 1st half Paddy and Big Tam were not so good…after we scored our 1st….the Celts turned in a magical performance.

To some on here who ain’t happy….tough…to score 3 goals and keep a clean sheet in the CL AWAY from home, is NO mean feat for ANY Club….get a feckin grip !

  13. saltires en sevilla on

    Wow!!!

    What a performance

Shaky start but no-one hid despite a few personal errors..

Indicates the players have confidence in what they are being asked to do by management

Looking forward to a Spring visit to Europe…:-)

  14. The SMSM probably add negative aspects to their Celtic reports because they know some of our fans will react, ergo giving them more attention.

    Ignore them.

If I have a great time with family and/or friends I don’t seek out folk who dislike me for their take on it.

Think it’s worth noting that a team with Henke,Sutton,Lambert,Petrov,Lennon etc. couldn’t get a win in Brussels against 10 men. This wasn’t us at our best tonight but we won comfortably.Take the points (and the lucre) and move on to next game.

  15. GARY67 on 27TH SEPTEMBER 2017 10:10 PM

Best back four performance in Europe for a long time. All four exceptional, Boyata MOTM.

    Indeed.And right about Boyatta.

  16. It was only a short while back that I would have been hiding behind the couch hoping they wouldn’t crumble and make a bollix of it, thankfully we have a manager who has instilled a bit of belief in the players, they can go away from home against a team of roughly the same caliber and do the biz.

Against the cheats we will find it hard, that is a given.

We made them look bad tonight, we controlled the game for the most part, to say they were crap is crap, the mind boggles so it does, we were superb tonight.

  17. For anyone who speaks French, go to Lesoir.be, very interesting article about football being more than a religion at Celtic, and plenty more good coverage from today. Good to see how others view us.

  18. I need to hear Peter Lovenkrands’ analysis.

I think that free kick Anderlecht could have got in the first 20 minutes was a turning point.

  19. SONSOFERIN on 27TH SEPTEMBER 2017 9:58 PM

    Eddy Merckx……

    Don’t forget Hercule Pouriet !

Don’t forget Plastic Bertrand! or Bradley Wiggins Belgian born!

  20. I agree that we were a bit sloppy with our passing, particularly in the first half .. but there are games where we have played well, and got less than our performances deserved, so I will take tonight.

I will agree with one thing Madmitch said … I think Anderlecht looked short of confidence, but I dont think they are as bad as some may suggest… they reminded me of Celtic a few seasons ago … you could see some talent there, but it was lost …. if they can regain that confidence, they may snatch a point or two later in the group (hopefully, against Bayern) …

a pretty good performance. a great result. Some days, that will do.

  21. How did Anderlecht get into the CL? Was it because they were crap?

Did we just beat them comprehensively?

For goodness sake, enjoy the result. We deserved it.

  22. And here was me thinking that football experts said winning when you don’t play well was the sign of a great team:))

Well played Celtic, how many of us would have dared to dream of a 3-0 away win in Europe this morning??

Winning breeds confidence, winning in Europe breeds more confidence in our group and that my friends in Celtic is Progrès:)))

  23. OK Lhads or lhassies

Madmitch may be many things but a HUN is certainly not one of them.

    Time for magnanimity.

  24. Turkeybhoy

    An awful performance?

Come on mate we were sloppy, careless and wasteful in the first half. In the second we were fantastic.

We’ve just won 0-3 away in the Champions League.

  25. CELTIC40ME on 27TH SEPTEMBER 2017 10:04 PM

    It’s a sore one for you….and I’m fekn glad,UP YOURS!

  26. sorry this the beginning of a new era. brendan is the new jock stein. im convinced we might get to another euro final.

  27. The result is fantastic. The performance irrelevant. The confidence and belief the players will get from an away win in the group stages, way outweighs any shortcomings in the performance early doors.

We are still growing at this level. Tonight is massive in that growth.

The €1m euros for a win is also welcome I’m sure.

That result should, all going to form, see us in the EL. More experience, more finance.

Last but not least, for the travelling bhoys, how they’ll party tonight.

    Great night.
