Ashley could fulfil Tarantino vision

948

Did Dave King honestly say there would be a “forensic investigation” before newco, under his control, would repay Mike Ashley’s £10m loan?  This, before the second tranche of the loan, which the club will need to meet payroll, is paid, and while Ashley could acquire an array of property and IP assets by simply not transferring the money when expected.

Unnecessarily provoking the source of short-term finance your club is dependent on is a bizarre tactic.

If it is indeed “the end” for the current newco board, as King promises, said board have a matter of weeks to secure whatever assets they can for those who have previously invested in the club and provided loans.

The crux of King’s comments are reported as:

“Would we pay [Ashley] immediately, I don’t think so no. We would complete a forensic investigation.

“If David Somers’ indication is correct that there has been some malfeasance then it is possible that the club would have a claim then I would attach the money and make a claim.

“If any individuals behaved improperly then it is important that they are held accountable.”

There’s a scene in Pulp Fiction when an unfortunate predator, “Z”, is informed that some African Americans are about to “Get medieval on his ass”.  We don’t get to see what this means but stay tuned, between now and the EGM, Mike Ashley might just provide a demonstration of what Tarantino had in mind.

Remember, Ashley is not at Ibrox because he fancies being the next David Murray.  He is not interested in the godforsaken world of having to run a football club in Glasgow, he’s happy to allow others to carry this burden.

He may well allow King to ‘win’ the EGM, but the spoils of victory will be very much on his terms.  Trying hard not to imagine Paul Murray in a leather mask now.

Today is World Cancer Day.  This disease has taken too many from the blog already, not to mention millions across the globe.  There is a lot of good news, though.  Progress is being made, but many in the developing world need access to simple preventative treatments, methodologies and information.

The preventative message still needs to get through to a great many in the developing world, before it’s too late.  Here’s a video outlining where the battle is at the moment:

Agreed, a long overdue change of policy.

  3. And in an article on the BBC website about 5 loanees from one Ashley club being forced onto another Ashley club, we have the totally unconnected mention of the strain that coaching Celtic put on the current (but working his notice and attending gardening nightclasses) Sevco manager.

“McDowall has admitted that years of being involved as a coach with Celtic and managing Rangers had taken its toll on him.”

A quote beneath the last picture of Mini me on the BBC article about the loanees.

Thank you SMSM media for reminding us of why we don’t believe anything you say.

  4. Serious issue, I know.

A mental healthy study showed 26% of active footballers display symptoms relating to depression…http://po.st/kEm1gA

Now if Sevco could solve there issues, would that figure drop ?

I’m really only guessing as previously we have ignored the domestic market. I think the fact that Ronny has seen both players close up is significant mate.

I appreciate your comments, I have no problem with disagreement, it all contributes to a healthy and vibrant blog.

You are probably right in the unpredictability in rearing our own youngsters and IMO you have given the best possible reasons why Lennoxtown does not give value for money.

  11. Dave’s difficulties with SARS began in 2000. He asked to be deregistered as a tax payer having declared a modest income of some £3,500. Some officious jobsworth took the perverse view that this didn’t square with his recent purchase of a painting by Irma Stern for the negligible sum of around £100,000. Dave’s difficulties are summarised in Judge Southwood’s judgement of 20/07/2011. Legal experts are firmly of the view that, in the intervening period, Dave told a world record number of lies. That is not, of course, to say that he is the world’s most successful liar. Here are some less familiar extracts from the unanimous three bench decision – note that each and every assertion by Dave is acknowledged as false:

“It is not in dispute that [Dave’s] evidence at the section 74C enquiry was materially false and in certain respects was a complete fabrication… [Dave] testified that all his wealth originated from his extremely wealthy mother, Mrs. N. He had no assets of note….According to [Dave] his mother would have set [the appellant company] up using her advisor in Glasgow….Regarding the [company][Dave] testified that the [it] was incorporated in 1993 by one Mr. XXX, at the time he could not remember his exact name, and his mother, Mrs. N, who was a very wealthy woman and lived in Scotland….According to [Dave] he would consult her but invariably she would let him guide her as to what should be done. Consequently it was not always necessary to phone her. [Dave] said that he cost his mother a lot of money by selling her DEF Ltd shares too cheaply….According to [Dave] this was to demonstrate that he… still had faith in DEF Ltd. (This was a hollow undertaking as almost all the DEF Ltd shares held by the appellant had already been sold.)…Regarding [Dave’s] knowledge of the trust structures [Dave] attempted to create the impression that he knew very little about the trust structures of his mother which were beneficial owners of the interests in the [company], ST Ltd and B Co.. [Dave’s] evidence at the section 74C enquiry is a tissue of lies. [Dave] obviously had full knowledge of the offshore structures which he had established in 1993 and 1996…[Dave] allowed the transcript of the evidence at the section 74C enquiry to be used before the SARS panel when he obviously knew that much of the relevant evidence was a fabrication….Not only is the evidence vague and unsubstantiated but it makes no sense and is improbable…. [Dave] denied that he had testified that he did this when it is clear that he did… [Dave] contradicted himself about whether he had a loan account in DEF Ltd… [Dave’s] evidence makes no sense at all…. [Dave] testified that over a lengthy period he had falsely stated in his tax returns that neither he nor his children were beneficiaries of a trust whether inside or outside South Africa. At all times he and his children were beneficiaries of the X Trust. He did this in his returns for 1994-2001….He also knew that his mother did not have shares in the [company] or exercise any control over [it] either directly or indirectly… He knew that no other person exercised control of the [company] directly or indirectly and he knew that he had de facto control over [it]. At all times the trustees of the trust and/or the [company]’s directors did his bidding….In argument before this court [his own] counsel readily conceded that [Dave] was not honest and was not credible”

True enough each to their own, Im glad that all religion is in its death throes, how about those who live without religion each day I switch on the TV or open a paper each and everyone one of these death cults outrages them further with the next mindless killing for their ‘God’.

What you get from religion you can have without it, its a cancer on this planet, outdated and prehistoric.
