Ashley could fulfil Tarantino vision

948

Did Dave King honestly say there would be a “forensic investigation” before newco, under his control, would repay Mike Ashley’s £10m loan?  This, before the second tranche of the loan, which the club will need to meet payroll, is paid, and while Ashley could acquire an array of property and IP assets by simply not transferring the money when expected.

Unnecessarily provoking the source of short-term finance your club is dependent on is a bizarre tactic.

If it is indeed “the end” for the current newco board, as King promises, said board have a matter of weeks to secure whatever assets they can for those who have previously invested in the club and provided loans.

The crux of King’s comments are reported as:

“Would we pay [Ashley] immediately, I don’t think so no. We would complete a forensic investigation.

“If David Somers’ indication is correct that there has been some malfeasance then it is possible that the club would have a claim then I would attach the money and make a claim.

“If any individuals behaved improperly then it is important that they are held accountable.”

There’s a scene in Pulp Fiction when an unfortunate predator, “Z”, is informed that some African Americans are about to “Get medieval on his ass”.  We don’t get to see what this means but stay tuned, between now and the EGM, Mike Ashley might just provide a demonstration of what Tarantino had in mind.

Remember, Ashley is not at Ibrox because he fancies being the next David Murray.  He is not interested in the godforsaken world of having to run a football club in Glasgow, he’s happy to allow others to carry this burden.

He may well allow King to ‘win’ the EGM, but the spoils of victory will be very much on his terms.  Trying hard not to imagine Paul Murray in a leather mask now.

Today is World Cancer Day.  This disease has taken too many from the blog already, not to mention millions across the globe.  There is a lot of good news, though.  Progress is being made, but many in the developing world need access to simple preventative treatments, methodologies and information.

The preventative message still needs to get through to a great many in the developing world, before it’s too late.  Here’s a video outlining where the battle is at the moment:

That is an interesting stat … However there is no doubt ( in my mind) that Scotland as a society is much more secular than when I was a young lad ( I’m 47)…

I think it is generally accepted that. Church attendance is in decline among the traditional religions.

When I was a young boy folk defined themselves by their religion more than they do nowadays. Hence my point that ascribing yourself to acts or views of religious bigotry strikes me as being old fashioned..

So there may be broadly as many Catholics as there were 40 years ago but I’d wager there are less ‘good catholics’ as my grannie would describe regular chapel attenders..

    ………………………..

Agree with everything you’ve said. That’s my view exactly. I was surprised to hear the 2011 Census stats.

Watching the epic of everest on bbc4 from 1924. It’s already caught my attention and mallory and irvine haven’t yet reached base camp.

Anyway not the reason I’m on now. Since march last year I’ve done a two prayer midnight vigil which includes a mini litany of cgn intentions. In recent times, there’s one of us I haven’t noticed.

Derbyshire Bhoy, I hope this finds you in fighting fettle and you’re enjoying Ronny’s renaissance.

  3. Delaneys,

where is petec picking you up,

My opinion is that Rangers supporters fall into two categories, bluenoses and Huns.

Bluenoses are die hard Rangers supporters who you can talk to, have a bit of banter, share stories and enjoy a pint with. I have a few friends who are Bluenoses and stand up guys.

Huns on the other hand are the unacceptable face of the Rangers support and can never be considered ‘handsome’. They are sleekit (how did Celtic get on last night? When they know we were beaten. You know the type.) they are prone to acts of violence and hate anything to do with Ireland and Catholicism.

  5. McCulloch has a wee look over his shoulder and then tramps on Nakamuras head.

Goes in with a straight leg on the Hearts keeper and catches him around the rib cage.

    Does Kayal.

Elbows Motherwell player in face in League cup tie.

Elbows Griffiths in back of head and stamps on Guidetti in same game.

Elbows St Mirren player in the face.

Apart from the St Mirren incident for which McCulloch got his jotters every one of these incidents were never looked at. Not one member of the media took issue with any of these incidents. Described as naughty by Keevins and Dalziel. The next time a Celtic player commits similar type offences like the witch hunt on Glenn Loovens please remind them that it was only naughty. It wasn’t dirty or sneaky or cowardly or thuggish.

McCulloch is getting away with it the same way Barry Ferguson used to.

an tearmann / Winning Captains – thanks very much for taking the time to reply.

Given their current boardroom plotting, it may be worth sitting back and watching for a week or two.

Just watched Sunday’s match again and watched the post match analysis that I didn’t on the day. Surprised and happy to see John Hartson admitting he has egg on his face regarding his persistent negativity of our manager. Even the wee hun mullet (although he looked as sick as a hun goat at lodge chucking out time) was complimentary of Celtic and Ronny.

All last week the huns were saying on their sites that Black was going to take the game, boss our captain and run the midfield ……………..

Next week that wee turd could be painting my shed, it’s due its annual coat of green.

An Tearmann, looking very positive that I’ll be at the game but it will be an in and out for me. I’m up to my neck in work blah blah and may be a last minute scramble to the game:-(

No BV build up or post match drams for me……….booooooooooo.

This work pish is really getting in the way of my normal pre/post match routine.

  14. a good cqn friend a few years ago, ULSTERCELT, passed on a poem to me,

standing alone is about being true to yourself, inclusive,

OURSELVES ALONE, by JOHN O’HAGAN Poem Source

First Line: The work that should today be wrought

Last Line: Redeemed — erect — alone!

    Subject(s): Nationalism – Ireland

THE work that should to-day be wrought,

    Defer not till to-morrow;

The help that should within be sought,

    Scorn from without to borrow.

Old maxims these — yet stout and true —

    They speak in trumpet tone,

To do at once what is to do,

    And trust Ourselves Alone.

Too long our Irish hearts we schooled

    In patient hope to bide,

By dreams of English justice fooled

    And English tongues that lied.

That hour of weak delusion’s past —

    The empty dream has flown:

Our hope and strength, we find at last,

    Is in Ourselves Alone.

Aye! bitter hate, or cold neglect,

    Or lukewarm love, at best,

Is all we’ve found, or can expect,

    We Aliens of the West.

No friend, beyond our own green shore,

    Can Erin truly own;

Yet stronger is her trust, therefore,

    In her brave sons Alone.

Remember, when our lot was worse —

Sunk, trampled to the dust —

‘Twas long our weakness and our curse

    In stranger aid to trust.

And if, at length, we proudly trod

    On bigot laws o’erthrown,

Who won that struggle? Under God,

    Ourselves — Ourselves Alone.

Oh! let its memory be enshrined

    In Ireland’s heart for ever!

It proves a banded people’s mind

    Must win in just endeavour;

It shows how wicked to despair,

How weak to idly groan —

If ills at others’ hands ye bear,

The cure is in Your Own.

    The foolish word ‘impossible’

    At once, for aye, disdain;

No power can bar a people’s will,

    A people’s right to gain.

    Be bold, united, firmly set,

Nor flinch in word or tone —

We’ll be a glorious nation yet,

    Redeemed — Erect — Alone!

Delaneys Dunky, excellent. Very happy that everyone got tickets. My wee bro texted me a photo of my ticket (I know, thats a wee bit freaky). I asked him if the tickets, as in his three and mine were together. He told me they were perforated about a third of the way along. That boy should be on the stage.

Getting back on blog, I have no issue with Celtic supporters calling the durty hun shite, monkey’s.

I’ve been called worse by them, we all have. 25’000 of the animals called me a paedophile on Sunday.

Calling them monkeys and Celtic supporters wetting the pants about it is an insult to monkey’s.
