  1. GORDYBOY, if you are there why not wander down the strip past the many ‘Irish’ pubs and all day English breakfast places and ask them.

  3. Good evening friends, very acceptable result.

So there I was in heathrow Terminal 5 with none of the bars showing the game. Fortunately, the Modbro App on my phone worked a treat and I caught the whole of the first half, benefitting from Heathrow’s free wifi. Then went to gate, boarded only to be told that 3 eejits hadn’t made it to the gate on time so we’d have to get their luggage off before departing, so probably a 15-20 minute delay. Phone back on (think I accidentally disabled the flight mode) and surruptitiously continued watching the game from my seat. I’ll turn it off as soon as we move away from the gate, I promised myself. But when push came to shove (see what I did there) I thought I’ll just watch 5 minutes more whilst the safety demonstration is distracting everyone else. So just as we got to the ‘escape rutes are here, here and here’ did we no just go and score and Jobo lets out an incontrollable “YES!!!” much to the disgust of most of the other passengers. Phone then immediately off and another hour and a half before I knew we’d secured a very acceptable draw.

    A great day!

I Rotally agree about Biton.A superb footballer a club playing in the league we are in should be doing cartwheels to have this kind of quality.I did say before, when the CHs are fit,Eric looks to me as if he could play the Wanyama role.Strong, quick in the tackle, and can pass.Could be an excellent foil for Biton,Rogic,if they stay.I honestly have no idea what some people on here see.

Great result, Busy wee night after the match, Chuffed for Brendan and our makeshift back line, Leigh is priceless for us, Our Midfield is an enigma for me, it functions at times and stalls at other with the same players or different players, I think that’s where BR has the biggest job to find what and who works and who to sell or bring in.

I like the look of Paddy Bamford. Good Back up for our Leigh, Dembelle will take time to settle into the team by the looks.

Onwards to Sat and Barca, We are progressing now by the looks , Brendans methods are sinking in.

I am divided on Brown more often than not, I happen to think at times, he is a very poor captain in must win games and in other games he drives us on.

Delighted with the result tonight. Don’t need to score any more goals now, provided we do not concede :-)

Started well, lost a silly goal and direction, but came back in second half. Good substitutions by Brendan and magical play by Mr Roberts who never gave up a lost cause. Great finish by the Griffalo.

  14. Good result under unfavourable circumstances – we live to fight another day.

If Man City sign Stones for £50 million – can see Everton getting VVD in for crazy money – thereby a windfall for us.

There are many times when I want him to grab games by the throat but I guess if/when he begins to ad this to his game then he won’t be with us for too long. While I agree he doesn’t often speed the game up I prefer his style of keeping posession rather than treating the ball as a hot potato. Who knows with more reliable ball players around him he may begin to quicken things more often?

    TURKEYBHOY

Erik might well be a fair shout for that position though I think we should be buying someone tried & tested. Pretty sure with all the season tickets sold, shirt sponsor money & der Hun in the league we must have a right few quid?

With a full house next Wednesday evening we should be in for a very exciting game we cannot rule out Astana an away goal for them would make for a nervous night. It could be a real roller coaster of a game but with our support we can go through I am sure Brendan will ensure the players remember tat this is only half-time. H.H.

  19. !!Bada Bing!! on

A bit of resilience at last, we kept a good shape most of the game, O’Connell outstanding, and for those of us hoping we could do a deal for Roberts….. Enjoy him for the season, a winger with plenty of tricks,a change of pace, can link up and score a goal too,an entertainer.

Wee wee bit of out order there.Urine Jobo’s bad books noo. ;))

  22. Good result today… Just what we needed, though we must keep focused, the job is less than half done… Though I kinda think that was the trickiest bit.

Couldn’t catch the match so was diving in&out of CQN, so once again, thanks to the excellent update ghuys.

Jobo… I helped design/implement that Network, had no idea it would have been put to such great use:)

    FAN-A-TIC @ 7:45 PM,

Got to agree, we know what these players are capable of, we’ve seen it. Yet we have also seen when they don’t want to bother… too many times.

The should look @ young KT and PR and see what is expected when you put on the hoops. Those yhongsters will be worth their weight in gold, because they are talent Footballers who show attitude and application every time they put a top on. Not when they feel they need a performance or are in the shop window.

You all know that I post on here quite regularly.

I have never posted any comments about the views of a journalist who has written a report about a Celtic game.

But I have just read Alistair Lamont’s report on tonight’s game on BBC Scotland’s website.

My God…how he must hate that we got a good result tonight.

If his report does not rally Celtic fans around the club I don’t know what will.

  24. MADMITCH on 27TH JULY 2016 7:36 PM

“Good game, great result, good performance and all to play for. If only BBC Shortbread had put up the money to show the game”.

Are you daft? If they’d spent our licence fee on showing games like this then there would be less to subsidize sevco.

  25. Ok, i have now had three messages from mates sayin something along the lines of ‘I heard Celtic were lucky to get away with a point today’

I agree with your suggestion about trying Erik in the midfield… given the players we have at the moment, him and Biton together would be my preferred combination in the middle. Once we get Jozo and Boyata back, we will have cover for the CB position, so could afford to move Erik forward.

I get some of the criticism of NB, but, some of it I find unfair … he did seem to lose focus last season, but, at times, I think the lack of movement in our game, and the slow pace at which we break forward, makes the passing out of the back more difficult than it should be, and makes players such as him look worse than they really are.

More movement = more space to pass into = ‘bad’ passers becoming ‘good’ passers. If we are playing more of a ball movement game, I think NB would look a much better player.

I am hoping to see more of that under BR.

On that note, I didn’t see today’s game, but, last season, after going down a goal, I would have been concerned about the lack of mental strength, and giving up 2 or 3. today, that didn’t happen, I am hoping that is down to BR, and is something that might bode well for the upcoming season.

  28. Marrakesh Express on

Watched the game in a Benidorm Irish /Celtic pub just off the beach. Interesting chat with tims from Dublin Newcastle Edinburgh Renfrew and Castlemilk. All apart from one was well versed on res 12. All adamant that PL must refer to them as new club on September 10, as they would certainly ram it down our throats.

Very loud rendition of the Celtic song after Griffiths’ goal which must have startled 50k lying on the nearby Levante beach. Hh
