Backlash Sunday

833

It is difficult to overstate the importance of Sunday’s cup final to Motherwell. They have won as many major trophies in the last 65 years as Celtic have won European Cups in the same period. What an opportunity they have.

Sunday might be just another final to you and me, or more importantly, to the Celtic players, but it is a date with destiny for all at Motherwell.

Right now, Celtic players will still be de-escalating emotions from Wednesday night. It is difficult to switch from one emotional peak straight into an equally intense state, but if we do not find our sharpness or thought and body, the Invincible trail will end this weekend.

I don’t think that will happen; there should be a backlash from Celtic. The open wounds from Wednesday will be used as fuel. The players have been slapped about by the hurt of defeat and will want to avoid a repeat on a national cup final. If Motherwell want to win, score a goal, or if they even want to pass the ball, they will have to operate at a level they have only attained for seconds this season.

The stakes are as high for both teams. Let’s hope the matter is decided without controversy.

Have a great and memorable day at Hampden.

  5. I know there has been quite a few CQN’ers that have passed to their eternal reward but tonight memories of Miki 67, Macanbheatha, Devonshire Bhoy & El Diego Bhoy have come flooding back to me, maybe we should have a particular hour, on a particular day once a year to remember & share a yarn about our deceased comrades.

    God Bless them all.

    YNWA.

  9. 4 massive massive games in the next 9 days will determine our season. 1st tomorrow will see us on the road tae back tae back trebles, another Celtic first. Next 2 will help consolidate our lead at the top especially as the sheep have 2 easy ones at the same time, and then Anderlecht with the opportunity of Europe after Christmas.

Massive but as Lena Martell said “One Game at a Time Sweet Jesus”, especially the morra which is the Feast of Christ the King.

God be good to him and all our departed Brothers.

I spent the past 4 hours single handedly minding a 1 yr old Grand Daughter who wouldn’t rest for a second, had two of the dirtiest nappies imaginable & ran me ragged.

I’m just home totally shattered, about to crawl off to my leaba so Good Night & God Bless All.

  12. It has been a difficult week. Today we will put that to bed.
