Balance returning, Magnificent effort

1052

After a tenacious win in Paisley on Friday Celtic were back in the groove last night.  Passing was swift and accurate, movement – perpetual.  It was a quiet game for Kris Commons, which at an earlier time would have meant a game with few chances for Celtic, but the prodding of Johansen, Armstrong and Mackay-Steven ensured Thistle played much of the game trying to chase shadows.

The return from injury of two of our three right backs, Adam Matthews and Darnell Fisher, has given the team better balance, although Adam still looks to be finding his sharpness.

John Guidetti established his early season reputation against Thistle with a League Cup hat trick but that seemed like a lifetime ago last night.  The striker had the odd chance but the terror he inspired in defenders a few months ago has gone.

Enormous thanks to winning bidder for our Open Golf Championship Hospitality competition, which finished a moment ago raising £2050 for our School Kitchen project for Mary’s Meals in Malawi.  Thanks to Eden Mill Distillery and Brewery in St Andrews and all who participated.

It was a stunning effort and the money is now in place to complete the fourth CQN school kitchen!  Well done to all who played their part.

Celtic sponsor, Magners, who have helped from the beginning of this recent school kitchen project, have a competition to play at Lennoxtown and Celtic Park.  You can enter your 7-a-side team into the Magnificent 7s competition before 5pm Wednesday 15th.  It would be good to see CQN represented.  Qualifying round takes place at Lennoxtown on Sunday 26 April with the finals at Celtic Park.

We’re in Strathaven, nowhere near Perth.

Hi Wee Frae, that’s grand so it is – here we are in south East Kilbride as well!

Don’t know where I got the idea that you were Perthshire – I’ll put it down to blog-itis!. We must have passed your policies on numerous occasions as we walked up to the Strath before getting the (lazy) bus back.

    Great news all round.

Enjoy them, they can be great fun. They normally start laying, depending on the breed, around 5-6 months old. They can live to around, again depending on the breed, 6-8 years and will lay for most of that. And, of course, they make great pets. Lol. Please keep me posted on their progress. KTF.

Not sure you fully understood the advice corkcelt was giving you.

    But…

If you can take joy from Celtic and lose the belligerent attitude towards the notion that there has been some establishment support and corruption offered to the Ibrox club, there should be an acceptance and an accommodation.

We are still only part way through the maze that has been Ibrox financing and SFA governance for the past 20 years or more. Anyone declaring that the end is already known and declaring one side the winner is being premature.

We are temporarily in a position of advantage. That is so easily thrown away by those that believe this can or will never change. The average bluenose around the early to mid 90s thought we were down and out and about to become as irrelevant to them as Stenhousemuir.

History has never died. Nothing is inevitable- not even death and taxes for the Ibrox mob.

I was more confident about Stokesy scoring against St.Mirren than I am about McCall becoming a good Championship manager……..but I hope the Mullet gets a chance next season to show that he can.

I worry about this new found reverence for all things Scottish and fear we might be losing our ability to laugh at ourselves.

When STV started it was full of the White Heather Club, Moira Anderson, Molly Weir and Music Hall Scot attitudes. It was parochial.

BBC Radio Scotland still carries a trace of that, especially in its Sports Department. I think they merit some slagging. The jibe is against the Radio station and its version of what constitutes Scotland rather than a jibe against the country as a whole.

The Yes side needs to relax and stop any developing tendency to fetishise the name, the flag, the anthem or the racial/ethnic purity of our people, and resist the reflex to rail against those who are less reverential about the symbolism that others place in these temporary signs.

If you’re seeing pop-up ads that won’t go away, or the homepage you set is gone, you may have an unwanted program installed on your computer known as Malware.

Go here: http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware and download the latest version of Malwarebytes and once its installed run it.

This is a 30 day full version which will run in the background. After the trail you’ll need to run it manually (once a month should be enough)

This should clear up any unwanted pop-ups.

    Hope this helps.

You might not be far off the mark with the Hampden one, due to the state of ipox but, I think Michael has trumped thems with taking all their rights, just incase they tried to pull the bath plug again.

This is like a jig-saw without a picture to work with…all I know is. What a Feckin laugh I get in work laughing at thems and I don’t see it changing ;))

playing out of Hampden. When the summer Admin rules came in the plan was hatched. Expect new rules where club insignia belongs to clubs not companies. Ashley obviously wanted Ibrox. SFA moved in, Ashley being getting irritated by Scottish politicians. A wee fine from the SFA for him. Charlie Green gets his last payment for Ibrox either from Ashley or the huns.

I think people do that because in comparison to Radio Four it’s introverted, parochial and amateur.

Maybe of course it’s unfair to compare it to Radio Four and a more valid comparison would be with the local BBC stations in England.
