It’s the battle of the Lennons at Celtic Park tomorrow with Danny enjoying the best run of form in his managerial career. St Mirren are on 20 points, joint with St Johnstone, who they beat in Perth last month, and have already taken a point from Ibrox this season. They are a technically sound team who will be more difficult to create chances against than Dunfermline were on Wednesday. They can also play a bit.
Team formation will be enormously important for Neil Lennon. This is the type of fixture he would previously select a 4-4-2, with two wingers, giving width to the game, but leaving a central two outnumbered by opponents who inevitably pack the middle of the field. If Celtic persist with this strategy they’ll need to tighten up in the middle.
There is an interesting subplot to this weekend’s games. Earlier this month there was a daunting 12 points between Celtic and Rangers. A win for Celtic tomorrow would see that gap shrink to 4 points, with Rangers playing their game in hand away to Kilmarnock at lunchtime on Sunday. As well as playing for three points tomorrow, Celtic have the opportunity to put pressure on Rangers.

Hi Ghuys,
Been a couple of weeks since I’ve been on. Things are going as well as can be expected being a single parent :-)
Again, many thanks to those who have given me support during this time.
Now, back to serious matters ;-) – get it down to four point Celtic.
Hail Hail

Evening, and wondered what the views are on a “time out” – maybe one each half. I have just been watching “ice hockey news” over her in swedeland and tactical time outs are pretty common place. I started thinking of our latest last 10 mins and thought maybe a timely kick up the ass might work. I think that, if it was 60 sec max, it wouldnt disrupt flow but will agree that it might also have negative consequences when we’re on top.

Alright mi amigo
We played some sublime footie on Wednesday
and should have won the game in 45 minutes.
If we can add some mental strength and clinical finishing
we might have the making of a half decent team.

We already have the makings of a good team, fair refs would help, jeezo, how must wee James Forrest’s legs be feeling after a game when he gets kicked from pillar to post with total impunity, and Hoops etc. etc……
Leaving the cheating aside, we have a fair few decent players, and our injuries have been bad this season, Lenny hasn’t had a straight choice all season, can’t be easy for the coaches fitting square pegs into round holes, a nightmare if the truth be told, we will win the league mi amigo, never bother about a 10 point deduction for them, it won’t matter, we are good enough, and we will do it.
not sure that shay ever won anything. my criteria is winning a league in england spain, italy, germany or france or the champions league.
There is plenty of evidence to support the view that B.B.C.(Sports)Scotland is biassed in favour of Rangers and anti-Celtic;
-Any independent survey of respective positive and negative comments of the two teams on B.B.C. Radio and T.V.would show this;
– A comparison of the enthusiasm with which the greet goals of the respective teams i commentaries is further evidence;
– The way in which they allowed their radio commentaries of Rangers’ games to pollute our domestic atmospheres with the illegal, sectarian chants of their fans;
– The number of sports bulletins which begin with the word ‘Rangers’;
– The way in which their commentators greet Rangers in European games with terms such as ‘we’ and ‘us’ – terms not heard in Celtic games;
– The number of times they showed the scouling face of Neil Lennon at the ‘Game of Shame’ ( 159 approx. at the last count) as if that was the worst thing that happened that night.
I could go on but I’ll finish with this – I have heard on good authority that there is a Rangers Supporters Club at the heart of the B.B.C.
Evening bhoys,
Re. the Celtic Song

……..Darn the hair do we care,
Or have I been singing the wrong words my whole life!

I know Mikael Lustig and Andre Blackman are yet to be judged but , when everyone is available, what do people on her consider to be our best eleven ? As European games and some away SPL games might need a different approach, let`s pick our best eleven for Home SPL games. If there is a big enough response, I will go throught the selections and post the eclectic (anagram of ce….celtic!) team tomorrow at 10.30 am before heading off to Paradise.
