Battle of the Lennons

917

It’s the battle of the Lennons at Celtic Park tomorrow with Danny enjoying the best run of form in his managerial career.  St Mirren are on 20 points, joint with St Johnstone, who they beat in Perth last month, and have already taken a point from Ibrox this season.  They are a technically sound team who will be more difficult to create chances against than Dunfermline were on Wednesday.  They can also play a bit.

Team formation will be enormously important for Neil Lennon.  This is the type of fixture he would previously select a 4-4-2, with two wingers, giving width to the game, but leaving a central two outnumbered by opponents who inevitably pack the middle of the field.  If Celtic persist with this strategy they’ll need to tighten up in the middle.

There is an interesting subplot to this weekend’s games.  Earlier this month there was a daunting 12 points between Celtic and Rangers.  A win for Celtic tomorrow would see that gap shrink to 4 points, with Rangers playing their game in hand away to Kilmarnock at lunchtime on Sunday.  As well as playing for three points tomorrow, Celtic have the opportunity to put pressure on Rangers.

It appears that we, the complainants, are once again being treated unfairly by the BBC.

They have allowed BBC Scotland to amend and add to their initial submission after informing complainants that any further comments would not be added to the original submission but that our comments will be passed and read only if The BBC Trust decided to take them into consideration.

It appears the whole process is being loaded in favour of Bigoted Broadcasting Company Scotland.

Thankfully we do have a further step after this, if only to make their lives as difficult as hell, by taking it to the Omnibudsman.

BCC, I think Frank McAvennie played in a semi final against ballymena, I was the game and I think that’s correct. He spent all match waving to the fans.

I remember the chants very well as well as the baton rounds bombs and general violence from the RUC.

The only time I was caught up in it was at mourneview one midweek. The soldier song started and out game a tricolour. Suddenly the RUC waded in and everyone dispersed. Well nearly everyone! I was left holding flag and getting hit by baton a few times before eventually getting in among the crowd again. Those days were nuts!!

  6. I can understand Aluko paying half the compo due to Aberdeen – the boy wants to play football at the highest level possible.

He had actually found that at Aberdeen but they released him, so Rangers was obviously the next best and only possible option.

Hi agents must have played a blinder though.

Imagine telling the lad a club like Rangers wanted to sign him – hed have to pay £75k himself and that no other club in britian or the world was interested that would have conformed to the norm and actually paid him a signing on fee.

I mean they really must have done a number on him.

Then again, an agents only motive is himself – so if I was to hedge my bets, it would be that Aluko and his agents are on a whopper % of any future transfer fee.

(So technically Aluko wouldnt even be added to the ‘assets’ list..)
