Bernabei window. Good luck to old foes in CL

411

It is perhaps just as well Greg Taylor has had such an impressive start to the season.   The alleged offence Alexandro Bernabei was arrested for yesterday will not enhance his chances of integrating into Scotland or the Celtic defence.

He is 21 years old, a long way from home and has a lot more money in his bank than ever before.  It is a heady cocktail.  Ange Postecoglou is experienced enough to know how to best deal with the player, how the season progresses is very much up to Alexandro.

After Hearts on Sunday, Celtic are away to Dundee United and Ross County, the latter in the League Cup.  Alexandro should be hoping to make his competitive debut during those two away games.  If he misses this window, he’s unlikely to make an appearance until after games against Newco and our first Champions League tie of the season.

Best of luck to old foes Bodo/Glimt and Copenhagen in Champions League qualifiers tonight.  Good to see honest teams that live within their means prosper.

    ““““

Coisty trying to get the season extended, coz he knows that if he gets it, there’ll be no possibilty a robust response from Timmy, because there is no Timmy, only Dimmy.

    Who’s fault is that?

KEVJUNGLE`s, or Dimdom for putting up with a lame, pro Old Firm, PLC?

CELTIC PLC is as representative to Timmy, as what SIR KEIR STARMER is to working class socialists, whom Labour party is `supposed` to represent.

    What a mess!

Winning Scottish domestic trophies is great, you can only compete against whoever appears in front of you on the pitch.

in context, Celtic has more resources than the entirety of Scottish football put together, not Celtic`s fault, just the way it is, only saying.

It would probably be like, LIVERPOOL, MANUTD, CHELSEA, MANCITY. or ARSENAL, going to English 4th division, or even lower, and comparing resources.

Unneeded all seating, created all ticket games, which then created, all/majority season tickets, which turned supporters, into customers, which created the Tory-fication of football, then throw in TVs influence, and you’ve got the capitalist, casino, laundries, allegedly, which so far, only JEREMY CORBYN has expressed his desire to outlaw billionaires, and give football clubs back to the supporters with guidance schemes provided to ease this scheme into progress, and if fans want rid of seats, and its safe to do so then that’ll happen.

But the establishment don’t like good folk with integrity, who want to make the lives of 99% of folk better, so the establishment set out to utterly destroy CORBYN, starting with…

“CORBYN’S in bed with the IRA, the future of the country is at stake” etc, and when that didn’t work, well we know what was next, I’ll not mention it ever again.

Point is, Tory-fication of football has created a giant iffy industry, German fans rattled the cages to get rid of seats and took no snash, but in Britain there are wee groups were its, VESTED INTERESTS FIRST, THE GOOD OF THE GAME LAST, but its only CORBYN’S interventions in 2019 that had struck the correct cords in any meaningful way, a few months back it was announced in several places that the EPL clubs were installing safe standing areas, which is a misnomer, because standing wasn’t unsafe at HILLSBOROUGH 1989, bad policing caused that tragedy, 97 lost souls. 🙏🏻🕯️💔💚🍀

Safe standng today is a cock & bull, switcheroo, standing with stabilisers wtf?

Give the people their game back Tory pirates!

Bad result for the Vale last night – 4 points out of a possible 12 – need to pick up somewhat although our 2 best players are missing through injury.

  6. Guys,

I must eat a bit of humble pie.

I stated we would not see a goalkeeper as poor as Sam Walker in the CL.

    I was wrong.😒

Very interesting article. For a certain person(s) on here it implies that there would be very few rich investors queuing up to buy Celtic if the present board were hounded out as he/she/they suggest. There are very few buses being parked outside the majority of stadiums in Scotland, it is a small country and the TV rights are poor.

I was particularly taken by this paragraph.

The deal was signed in 2012, which brings us onto our next metric: the financial health of the top flight. That, of course, was the year Rangers were liquidated and reformed as a new club. Hearts and Motherwell also entered administration, as did Livingston and Dundee (both twice) and Gretna, who suffered the same fate as Rangers but were not resurrected. Defending champions Celtic are poorer than the poorest club in the English Premier League, Bournemouth, despite Champions League revenue, while Aberdeen, who have finished second three years running, have finances comparable to Rotherham United.

    HH all Celts

442…ok man wae a plan…serious questions….who do you propose we replace the PLC wae? How would you go about lessening DD’s and corporate investors’ shareholding influence. My guess is…you have no realistic answers…no wonder you feel so inefectual

I don’t know how many current posters were on here when the huns went bust.

Those who were will recall that there was near universal agreement that at some stage the Celtic Board would call out Sevco as a new Club. But not just yet, because, well…………. reasons. But some time soon it would definitely happen, just not now. It never happened and never will happen. And Celtic fans have gone along with it.

There’s worse things than being ineffectual. I suspect you know that.

  10. ERNIE LYNCH @ 8:55 AM,

Ain’t that the truth, think the phrase we on the deludomal used was “keeping our powder dry”, a mean, looking at it now, how dumb was I!?

Especially as we had fholk like neg anon and Mike In Toronto among others telling us how it was.

Of course the scales fell from most of our eyes during the next few years – my epiphany came when for his second go at the UCL proper in as many seasons, having sold several players for a tidy profit Lenny wasn’t backed.

Had to go into the UCL weaker…

Then the truth of the 5 way agreement

The lies surrounding the WTC and the silver bullet

The evidence just grew and grew

And yet, a decade on with our business partners alive and well and living in the heads of the CQN fraternity we still have so many on the deludomal.

BTW: Two Netherlands footballers – one called Luuk, the other is a Frenk

I see the work experience person has been let loose on the news pages again. I’ll admit my own vocabulary is limited but “flop”, come on, surely you can a) act as a grown up (transfers dont always work, players peak at different times) and b) show some humility. Surely, we (as a collective) are better than resorting to SMSM gutter press bile then again maybe not………………….

  13. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Good morning all.

Am totally chuffed we don’t have to negotiate CL qualifiers.

But it can create a midweek vacuum … which nature abhors apparently?

    Have a good day.

  14. CB @ 7.20 last night.

You win the award for the most bonkers / mental statement of the month / year.

For CQN that is some accolade.

MoJ — best start by a CB since MR in 97 …

I think you might be missing out quite a few new CBs in that analysis.

Starter for 10 — I give you both JD / VVD in 2014.

Better players when they came / much better plyers after a season with us.

MoJ offers hope / potential — looks a bit raw and he has not played against any quality opposition.

I fear he has some way to go before he is CL ready.

Things are looking good but please keep it real — let the guy grow / develop.

  15. The board happy clappers / DD acolytes / PL apologists.

They come from all over to big up the current custodians of the club.

No matter the issues in front of us a press release can always be dredged up to clear them of any responsibility for our failures / poor performance / areas of concern.

We — the board / the club / the ex CEO / the kid on owner — are all great / superb / cutting edge / tip of the football spear / club going places / tearing it up / management excellence.

They are great and can do no wrong according to this mixed but vocal bunch of groupies.

Causal vs coincident in the time of AP — discuss.

One thing is for sure they wont.

That means my partner shares a birthDAY with John Fallon. We will be leaving Arbroath shortly and heading for Cafe Andaluz followed by a visit to either The Bon Accord or The Pot Still to celebrate the occasion.

    Happy Days :-))

  18. Interesting comments on KDS about the huge talent that is BD — recently of this parish.

Now getting a game for L/pool U18’s aged — in an AM stylee — 16 and three quarters.

Looking good then for this season — playing age group football against some quality teams.

Will this develop him more than half a season with our B team and half a season on the first team bench — I am going to say no but I am a bit biased?

One thing that stands out is his Nov birthday.

If calendar year age groups people born in the first half of the year are more likely to make it — dodgy / rough and ready analysis but I think it has been proven in a number of studies.

Older = Jan to March / June birthdays.

    Older = bigger in U8’s / U10’s / U12’s.

Bigger = more capable in small boy / wee man football.

Same for the Ladies as well.

As he gets older the influence of his late birthday will diminish and his talent will come to the fore over his relative lack of physical development — looks like this is part of his story and why he has “came out of nowhere” last season to make the jump to being a recognised talent.

    One to watch.

I fear that we were transfixed by the phenomenon/ circus act that was KD
