Bet your novelty duck there are lessons to be learned

1033

Celtic probably anticipated the three match suspension Uefa imposed on Scott Brown following his red card for an off the ball incident against Barcelona, if they didn’t, they should have.  That’s not to say the decision is not “harsh”, as the club described it, as far as off the ball incidents go, this was a lesser offence, but it was a red card awarded for an off the ball incident nonetheless.

Are there lessons to be learned?  You can bet your novelty Celtic duck on it.

No more on this, or injuries, until late next week.  Absolute focus is required on the task ahead.  Ajax will arrive in town on Monday low on confidence, let’s take them.

A CQN’er has kindly donated two tickets for Tuesday’s game at Celtic Park against Ajax for the 1254125 appeal.  You can bid for them by silent auction by emailing your bid to ajax@celticquicknews.co.uk.

Please include telephone contact details.  Auction will close at 19:00 on Sunday.  The winning bidder will be notified on Sunday evening, tickets need to be paid for directly to the 1254125 MyDonate campaign before 12:00 on Monday or the tickets will be offered to an alternative bidder.

Many thanks for participating.

  1. Hun skelper, not far wrong mate.

Add in the tasty but not cheap Euro game on Tuesday to the reasons as well.

  2. Judith Ralston was born in Edinburgh and began her studies as a classical musician at the age of 6, playing the violin.

She subsequently went on to train as an opera singer, graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with a BA in Music, a post graduate diploma in vocal studies and a further one in Opera studies. She also studied in Germany and Canada.

Her career was cut short when she suffered a vocal collapse which subsequently led to the loss of her singing voice.

Her hobbies include running, skiing, a massive passion for the arts – particularly opera – and lots of fine wine and banter.

I know mate, down to two left, waiting on seanp1916 getting back to me.

As Hamiltontim pointed out Celtic cause some of the problems by refusing to pay the 5%. Pepole/Supporters Clubs buy tickets fully expecting to go but if for some reason they cannot go (many understandable reasons) then they will take the hit if they cannot be moved on. From experience of historically running a Supporters Club if you booked a ticket for an away game and the Club got left with it, then the individual would need to pay for it.

If you are one of those or know of anybody who missed out please give them my e-mail lennybhoycfc@gmail.com

First come first served but sean91916 currently has first refusal, though he is struggling with Flight times.

agreed, the majority of people prefer 3pm, makes no odds to me either way, but 3pm kick offs would definitely get the crowds up

isnt likely to happen though in the near future because of the tv money, no matter how meager it is

I assume you will be voting Labour?

    If Green, my apologies.

Labour once by ‘luck did the right thing. After the end of World war 2, millions of soldiers arrived home from continental Europe, armed to the teeth, and radicalised way beyond any large group in present day society. That’s what 100,000s deaths will do to you.

After 2 world wars in 30 years, (almost 1 million deaths in WW1 for UK), the UK population had to be rewarded and cared for, or these radicalised soldiers may not have stood idly by doffing their caps to their Eton masters- a communist revolution in the UK whilst not likely, was certainly a possibility.

Labour did the right thing on winning the election post WW2- cradle to the grave protection for the population. For this, we will all be eternally grateful.

Since then however, and more so since the rise of capital in the late 1970s, Labour has abandoned the workers. It is run now purely to facilitate the class war the richest 1% are inflicting upon the other 99%. Inequality is now growing at a breathtaking speed. (as an aside, 110 people in Russia own 35% of the wealth). We are in a ‘race to the bottom’.

Labour are now nothing more than a facilitator for multi-national corporations, and USA foreign policy, when they should be a facilitator for the Unions, and the protectors of us.

I am naturally an ‘old’ Labour person, but the new version is basically more right wing than Thatcher 1979. They have betrayed me, and millions like me.

I will be voting for an independent Scotland, not the SNP, though the SNP are more left wing than labour. I used to vote SSP.

I appeal to everyone to base their politics on their class interest, not football whitaboutery.

Just llistened to Wednesday night’s BBC podcast ….Chic Young has confirmed my long term contention that he is King Fud and not the brightest bulb in the pack…. The other pundits were actually gobsmacked at some of his comments ….. I now understand why some of the bhuns were so slow to realise what direction sDM was taking….Chico, and peepul like him, didn’t have a clue as to what was going on when sDM couldn’t sell up….he was plotting his exit, and used his media circus to keep the bears at bay while he tidied up and feathered his nest before leavling

  15. Having checked the bookies’ odds on the outcome of the referendum I doubt it’s worth even discussing the issue.

The SNP leadership know it’s a lost cause and are now positioning themselves for the post referendum world.

By positioning themselves what I mean is forming a disorderly queue behind Salmond’s back to stick the knife in.

Watching their posturing over the next few months is going to be interesting.
