Bet your novelty duck there are lessons to be learned

1033

Celtic probably anticipated the three match suspension Uefa imposed on Scott Brown following his red card for an off the ball incident against Barcelona, if they didn’t, they should have.  That’s not to say the decision is not “harsh”, as the club described it, as far as off the ball incidents go, this was a lesser offence, but it was a red card awarded for an off the ball incident nonetheless.

Are there lessons to be learned?  You can bet your novelty Celtic duck on it.

No more on this, or injuries, until late next week.  Absolute focus is required on the task ahead.  Ajax will arrive in town on Monday low on confidence, let’s take them.

A CQN’er has kindly donated two tickets for Tuesday’s game at Celtic Park against Ajax for the 1254125 appeal.  You can bid for them by silent auction by emailing your bid to ajax@celticquicknews.co.uk.

Please include telephone contact details.  Auction will close at 19:00 on Sunday.  The winning bidder will be notified on Sunday evening, tickets need to be paid for directly to the 1254125 MyDonate campaign before 12:00 on Monday or the tickets will be offered to an alternative bidder.

Many thanks for participating.

If you are 15 mins from Easter Road I would take a wander down that way. CSC’s usually park up Abbeyhill way towards Calton Hill.

You will pick one up. Always someone who sleeps in.

Alec Salmond doesn’t want their to be a victory for Yes. He wants it to be close enough that he can threaten to pull another one in 5-10 years and push for Devo-Max.

A ‘No’ vote is absolutely his best chance to stay in power long term, in my opinion.

  4. Another thing about Chiko.

Wasn’t it largely his frenzied, attention seeking, sensationalist reporting of the touchline bust up between NFL and Sleekit Sally that lead to the emergency summit and subsequent SNP legislation?

Salmond will be gone within hours of the result.

  7. Crossword: ” Shun and finally cut.”

I believe I have the answer, ” eschew” and I can understand the “shun” and “cut ” parts but where does the “esc” part fit in with ” and finally”?

His colleagues don’t particularly like him.

    He’ll have no allies.

And of course he knows that all the internal conflicts which have been put on hold pending the referendum will break loose.

It’s not going to be pretty.

  13. Certain ‘anti-racist’ groups should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pursue a racism angle against Roy Hodgson. A ridiculous group calling itself a society of black lawyers is particularly vindictive it seems. Hodgson seems like a gentleman. He also adores the great German author Hermann Hesse. Woy is a good guy.

    Cheers mate.

Hmmm that’s a very good question. Think oldtim is the one to answer that and b.t.w. I can’t imagine how awful a prawn sandwich would taste. One problem I’m having in the lounge is finding a scotch mince pie at H.T. The place is full of steak pies:o)

    Hope you’re well.

Not so,I drove to Firhill last Thursday ” after ten ” per the PTFC Website and bought 3 for the away end as a member of Public, not asked for ST I.D or CSC Membership several others doing likewise.

I think their original intention was via Supporters Clubs and sell balance to Public but they sold no problem.

Could I sugggest calling 0141 579 1971 with your best Partick voice as the wings of the Main Stand never sell out according to the guy I dealt with, however by that time I had declared my colours so was despatched to the Jackie Husband shed.

    (yeah!)

    A Cold Fact.

  18. Margaret, have you heard about this? The young player acknowledges he is relaxed about Roy’s comments. His voice betrayed no sign of upset. Hodgson’s outlook and history give no indication that he is a racist. The PC army aren’t helping certain situations. Good luck to Hodgson.

  19. EDB , only pulling your leg.

Always meant to ask. Is your nom-de-blog in any way a reference to that nectar that we g82 bhoys have fond memories of ?

Growing up , my old man used to play for the Torpedo and my task was to collect the half-time refreshments – generally a couple of bottles of diluting orange.

Unfortunately , the RNTF used to dispense aforesaid refreshment in re-used El-D bottles which would cause consternation amongst the opposition when they saw them being passed around at H-T.

    Ah ,them were t’days lad.

Hodgson is a fan of modern literary fiction generally.

He’s one of the good guys.

The NASA joke though does seem a bit convoluted for a half time talk, unless it’s something he uses all the time and the players are familiar with.

It’s unfortunate that someone in the camp has gone to the press with it. And it’s peculiar that they’ve gone to the Scottish Sun.
