Bet your novelty duck there are lessons to be learned

1033

Celtic probably anticipated the three match suspension Uefa imposed on Scott Brown following his red card for an off the ball incident against Barcelona, if they didn’t, they should have.  That’s not to say the decision is not “harsh”, as the club described it, as far as off the ball incidents go, this was a lesser offence, but it was a red card awarded for an off the ball incident nonetheless.

Are there lessons to be learned?  You can bet your novelty Celtic duck on it.

No more on this, or injuries, until late next week.  Absolute focus is required on the task ahead.  Ajax will arrive in town on Monday low on confidence, let’s take them.

A CQN’er has kindly donated two tickets for Tuesday’s game at Celtic Park against Ajax for the 1254125 appeal.  You can bid for them by silent auction by emailing your bid to ajax@celticquicknews.co.uk.

Please include telephone contact details.  Auction will close at 19:00 on Sunday.  The winning bidder will be notified on Sunday evening, tickets need to be paid for directly to the 1254125 MyDonate campaign before 12:00 on Monday or the tickets will be offered to an alternative bidder.

Many thanks for participating.

The problem now is that those clubs who won’t deal directly with Celtic re allocation of tickets find it easier and more cost effective to sell their tickets in bulk to supporter’s buses. This means that many individual applications are ignored.

You’re intelligent enough to know that a Yes vote no more guarantees an indefinite SNP rule than it guarantees that a Conservative will never have a seat in Scotland again.

However it opens the door for the nation to be truly governed by the party the majority vote for. As I’ve said many a time (and it may be a pipe dream), I’d like to see a proper Labour Party rise again, and if it did that’s where my vote would go.

How is it right we can have the bedroom tax imposed upon us by a party that was voted for by a tiny minority of the country.

I think it’s crucial people are aware that the SNP will still be around in a separate Scotland.

I think the nats on here have been happy for people to think otherwise.

  4. hamiltontim,

so surely the supporters clubs ask their members who is going and who isnt, then only apply for that many tickets, and if a member says they want a ticket then dont go they need to pay for the ticket anyway and then try and get shot of it themselves

if its the supporters club that takes the hit then that doesnt seem right

  5. The Scottish Government’s Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, Fergus Ewing, said this when Ed Milliband announced that he would bring in an energy price freeze:

“Never can I recall a measure introduced by a leader of a major political party in the UK which has received such widespread, utter and total condemnation as being completely unworkable.”

Wonder what he thinks of his own party now proposing a price cut??

    I think that’s important too.

I will be voting yes but have never and will never vote for the SNP…I don’t see voting Yes as being a vote for the SNP.

    Do people really think that?

I thought most of them were just countering the impression that some people give that a Yes vote means SNP in power forevermore.

Right now, I’m prone to vote Yes. I’m not by nature an SNP voter.

It would appear that that’s not happening and buses are just taking as many tickets as are on offer.

The ‘fault’ lies with CFC who asked for a 5% handling fee for dealing with away tickets so other clubs opted to sell them directly to Celtic supporters.

I believe that JPT is hoping to have it sorted for next season.

  9. Hibs and others will give buses plenty rather than process individual’s debit card details.

  10. ernie lynch

correct – the SNP wont disband

neither will the OO, BNP, SDL, RIFC, TSB, STUC, EIS or any other acronyms you care to think of

it doesnt matter, however if someone votes for independence just in the hope that the SNP disband then they arent right in the napper and shouldnt be allowed to vote anyway

Ernie do you think Labour will be around if Scotland votes for independence? POWER,and lets be honest, thats what every sliverous politician, of all ideologies want, will evade Labour in a U.K context as it does presently with the Tories in a scottish context.

The Equality and Diversity Directive for the Army states: “Across the United Kingdom, members of every community must be able to look at their Army and know that we defend their interests and values, and that they would be welcomed in our ranks if they can meet our standards.”

At a gala day at Ibrox Stadium, serving soldiers in full uniform display a banner which states: “Keep Ulster Protestant”

At the Ministry of Defence, a spokesperson says: “As far as we are concerned, Rangers want to carry on with them (the Armed Forces Days) and we want to carry on being a part of them.”

The Home Office sends text messages to members of minority ethic groups and drives an advertising van round local neighbourhoods, both saying: “Go Home”.

Clearly, in the United Kingdom in the 2nd decade of the 21st Century, he interests and values of certain communities are less welcomed than others.

    eh ?

  16. hamiltontim,

on the face of it i can understand why celtic asked for a handling fee – it costs money to process thousands of tickets for which celtic get no financial benefit – apart from being able to siphon tickets to the fat cats who pay a couple of grand for season tickets to be guaranteed away tickets

but in this day and age when away tickets are much easier to come by then im not sure its in celtics interest to start handling them again

also, i think you get bigger numbers at away games when clubs sell directly to us, i maybe wrong, but if celtic handled the easter road tickets directly, i reckon i would have been able to walk into the ticket office and got one today, but because hibs sold direct, they were sold out in jig time

To be fair to the rest of the UK though, there’s only one football stadium where such a display would ever be seen, and it’s right here in Scotland.

In actual fact that’s wrong mate. At Perth last season the Celtic areas had large gaps, this was because they opted to sell directly to supporters.

English learned his trade at Wapping. I’m not sure if that’s anything to do with it.
