Boycott call as Celtic fans money promised to re-establish Rangers

1670

The Gang of 10 SPL club who will meet next week will decide whether or not we have a morally sound and ethically administered league. The meeting wasn’t announced three hours before overtures were being made on terms a Rangers Newco would be prepared to agree to in order to win their backing.

Effectively, the other 10 will asked to hold their noses, put all moral judgement aside and tell Rangers Newco the terms they need to agree to in order to get back into the SPL, retain their history and limit consequences of the alleged improper registration of players. Some of those hoping to front a Rangers Newco are prepared to do whatever is necessary to get back on a level playing field with those who have spent the last 20 years playing honest football and paying their taxes.

The question to be considered is not just what is ethically right in sport; it’s more personal than that. This is about what is going to happen to your money, the football club that defines who you are, and your relationship with the game for the rest of your life.

The schemers and cheats are not beaten and they are not going to give up. There is no honour, no ‘dignity’, no moral compass that understands there are consequences for decades of rampant abuse. All there is, is a sense of entitlement that I struggle to comprehend.

That sense of entitlement is about to promise bucket loads of your cash to someone else in order to restore the old certainties. This time, they are not even going to use the tax man’s money, they are going to use YOUR money. The money you put into the game will be distributed and used to flush the smaller clubs, who will in turn restore Rangers to their position of ascendency.

This is not sport, it’s a disgusting abuse of Celtic fans. You are not even being asked, you are being expected to open your wallets and pay whatever price it takes to put Rangers back on top.

I have never called for a boycott of a newspaper, never mind a football game, but this is not football anymore. We cannot be party to this. It is not a passing-issue either. Rules are being made with consequences that could last 100 years.

You have suffered from decades of malpractice and have earned the right to go to Ibrox in two weeks to enjoy the reflection of honest endeavour. After this, our next away game will be at Kilmarnock. If the Gang of 10 attempt an insurrection using your money, join me in a picket outside Celtic Park when these tickets are available for sale, and outside the away gates at Rugby Park on game day, to explain to Celtic fans the consequences of supporting the clubs who would use your money to establish a new Rangers.

Unite and bring the full power of Celtic against those who would rather do a deal with the devil than establish an honest, even, playing field.

If the Gang of 10 give Rangers Newco their way, using your money, we cannot go back to an away game, not this season, not ever. We must demand this discipline from each other and insist the club refuse all away tickets.

Having paid our taxes, registered footballers in an honest manner and brought international acclaim to Scottish football, the Celtic Movement is being corrupted by the lowest common denominator.

Our magnificent sporting institution is being destroyed. For the love of all that is decent and meritocratic in the game, we need help from England, Europe or wherever to move out of Scottish football.

I am just about finished with the entire, corrupt, shambles that masquerades as a sport.

Issue six of CQN Magazine….. has sold out! None left, sorry.

Their pythonic hubris and crass refusal to admit to wrong-doing is doing my nut in.

I am sad to say it but I think they are beyond redemption, likening them to an old rabid dog and termination might be the kindest deed of all .

To be fair, any decent Rangers fan is saying they MUST take their medicine. The shock jocks are fighting for their existence.

  5. As long as their misdeeds, sins, crimes, transgressions, whatever; are appropriately punished, then I am content to accept their continued existence.

If their punishment has a negative effect on Scottish football, well so be it – that;s not a sufficient reason not to punish them. If I cripple someone drink-driving, should I get off free because the appropriate jail sentence would have a negative effect on my family or my company?

We need to kill Hugh Keevins and James Traynor, and burn down the offices of the Daily Record. Then claim that if they put us in jail, we would no longer be able to buy their paper, so they should let us go free.

If anyone gets to say that on Jabba’s phone in tomorrow, I will buy them all of their drink at a home league game after the split.

And now would be a Great time to ask the LORD to help our Celtic Leaders make the correct choice.

  8. maybe I’m being deluded but…

If the other 10 clubs are serious about no newco, why don’t they all agree to boycot the bigotdome. Hit them financially. Starve their income and kill them sooner?

  9. tarrant, mate I should be out killing the darnels in my garden and that is where I am going in a couple of minutes.

I am a wee bit taken aback by Paul’s conviction and attitude. He is not a one who is quick to temper and what he has written doesn’t scare me per se but it most definately hardens my resolve to do what is best for The Celtic and the Support.

I’ve given up with them, I’ve tried to give them the benifit of the doubt on so many occasions, more fool me by the looks of things.

Not one of them – NOT ONE – old or new, still employed or long paid off, not a single one of them has put his hand up and said I wish we had not done that, not becasue we were caught but becasue we cheated everybody we played against.

They know they cheated, they know the world knows they cheated but they just don’t give a toss.

I read the huns in the press and they play the game like there will never be a reckoning.

They pontificate with the strategy taken straight form the ‘Derailing for Dummies book’.

    an excert…

You are just being hostile (hacks to the Celtic Support)

This is a great one to pop out if it seems like they’re going to push the matter. After all, nobody wants to be “hostile”, do they? In a culture rigidly defined by social protocol, invariably designed to favour the privileged, people are very concerned about “getting along with others“.

Especially Marginalised People™! Know why? Well, since they’re marginalised, they experience a variety of discriminations, usually in many aspects of their daily lives. It is not at all unusual, therefore, for Marginalised People™ to have to be accustomed to being very, very cautious about the way they engage with the Privileged®. This is because discrimination may mean they routinely encounter violence, silencing, oppression or just good old-fashioned outright ridicule and diminishment. That can make life stressful and exhausting, so many Marginalised People™ develop complex strategies to avoid hostile engagements with Privileged People® .

Further to this, Marginalised People™ are forced into a certain sort of social behaviour by Privileged People® – “appropriate” behaviour. After all, there are different rules for them than there are for the Privileged®. This training in “appropriate” behaviour usually begins when they are very young, so it is well-ingrained.

By accusing them of hostility, you will successfully enliven their sense of caution and anxiety around this matter. You may also provoke a feeling of guilt that they are not “behaving” the way they have been trained to.

But even better – by accusing them of hostility, you pass the blame back to them, rather than consider what you might have said that was so offensive and hurtful it caused the “hostility”!

This will definitely work in your favour, because it will further insult and enrage them. You are making progress…

    Crossroads indeed.

I know quite a few huns, they all seem to be good guys in the daylight hours but not one of them – NOT ONE – has admitted to me that their club knowingly cheated.

They are ashamed, that is painfully obvious but still they lack the capacity to admit they did wrong. Why, why can’t they do it? I don’t understand their fear.

  14. These people do not have what a Celtic supporter has. A belief that is based on morality and right. I would not contemplate cheating anyone. I would make an exception for Whyte and Murray. That is their way of life. Just think. Without the refs, the Masons, the SFA, SPL, League, BBC Scotland and all the radio stations, STV, (by the way–who the hell is in charge there when they climb into bed with the Orcs in this particular season?) and all the rest of them–the Masons, bowling clubs, cricket clubs, rugby clubs– because it’s a group thing–how did they not win everything every year? Better than that–How did Celtic manage to win so much? Jock Stein gave the answer many years ago. Nothing much has changed.

there are some who have seen the truth and admitted it, and hate to; there are some who know it’s true but aren’t ready to admit it, but know it’s inevitable; and there are some, as kitalba points out, that are beyond redemption.

The most hopeful sign for me was the thread on FF suggesting that they just take their medicine and start from SFL3, rebuilding their reputation across Scotland and spreading their money among all SFL clubs on their way up. It was not the majority view, but it was certainly the option that offers their cherished value of dignity.

I know Rangers fans and supporters who are not bigots; most of us do. They acknowledge that their club’s historic bigotry contributed to their success, but maintain that it does not form part of their greatness. There’s a deeper argument there to be unpicked, but more importantly there’s an acceptance and an attitude that is probably more widespread than we think. Let them take their medicine. Acknowledge their wrongs, accept their punishment, reform in SFL3, and rehabilitate themselves.

Meanwhile let the bigot contingent fester and form their own newco, racist sectarian bastard Real Rangers / Continuity Rangers / Oglach na hUgly / Govan Globetrotters FC, outside the league. Let them convince themselves they’re an honourable continuation of the club founded by 4 lads in a park (yawn). They’re continuing the tradition of defiance of big business football, like FC United and AFC Wimbledon. Fk the Glazers! Fk the Whytes! Fk the Murrays! Well Paul, but not David! No, David but not Paul! Naw, fk fkng Stewart Regan, that’s a fenian name! So is Murray! Yeah, fk the Murrays!

Let them hack and kick and march all over the world and infight until they all get jailed or die of inbreeding.

  17. A post I put up on the night of Pablo’s funeral;

“One other thing about this morning, I’m not very good at these things. When I arrived nice and early, I went straight in and got a seat in the Crematorium – it was full. There was an old song, My Happiness by Connie Francis playing. I thought it an unusual choice, but hey Pablo’s eclectic musical taste is legnedary (sp?). The coffin was brought in to this lovely old song – I did realise that something wasn’t right – they were starting half an hour early. But what is the protocol when you realise you’re in the wrong funeral? I chose to stay put!

So RIP Margaret Campbell, you got a lovely send-off and I got 2 for 1 this morning, I was too embarrassed to tell anyone earlier.”

We are on the verge of a treble, have a young team, playing good exciting football, with the promise of greater things ahead.A young manager, who inspite of all he has had to endure, has shown he has the heart of a lion, and his love for this club is limitless.Look at the carnage over on the other side of the city, you would think they won the treble today! Its just the beginning of the end for them.
