Breakdown on taxpayers £75m hit

835

I think some people have been reading too much into mentions of Rangers owing HMRC up to £75m.  For clarity, the big tax case, with penalties and interest, could reach approximately £50m, but that is not the end of the story.

There is the wee tax case, the potential VAT liability relating to the income from Ticketus and VAT due each quarter.  Then there is Pay As You Earn (PAYE) and National Insurance (NI).  With the lack of financial information from Rangers barring this “£75m” statement, it’s possible VAT, PAYE and NI are delinquent.

Add this lot up and you can easily see why the taxpayer could be looking at a £75m hit, Rangers did not link this figure with the big tax case alone.  I’ll leave it up to Craig Whyte’s next interviewers to ask how much of this figure has been incurred under his stewardship.

And remember, we’re only talking about HMRC debt here, don’t forget about the police, Glasgow City Council, utility suppliers and a multitude of small local businesses.

We don’t need no stinkin’ Rangers.

Been a good day, a day we all remember for the rest of our lifes, the 13th of Feb 2012.

The next big day will be the day they get blended. any guesses when that day will be ?

Whatever, they are well and truly fecked, and thank the lord for that.

The best thing I could hope for is the sectarian bile is no more, second best is us gone.

Take care and god bless bhoys and ghirls, this has been a good day to be a Tim.

  5. From my daughter – Roisin – playin with words. I’m mighty proud

    Impressions

I see you with your hardened gaze of stone

Your Judgement is strong as your anger, Ma’am

Your flawless frame is still at core bone

As is mine, yet to you I am a lamb

Ready to be raised and brought to Slaughter

You are strong but be cautious where you tread

You, Queen, are not made of stone and mortar,

What appears as Gold can in fact be Lead.

Tainted though I am, perfection’s not my aim

While here I stand I can feel my mind grow

I know hate can only make the soul lame

And someday you must reap the dark seeds you sow.

But alas my time grows ever short

And the Irony of my judgment wears thin

So as always before harsh retort

You should consider what may be within.

Even as your cold dark eyes judge me

Remember that my eyes can also see.

Glasgow Road, opposite Holm Park, would have put you in the Brick Lawn, next to Clydeholm dog track. That was the scene of my mis-spent youth, a hundred years ago.

    Great memories.

    Goodnight & God Bless .

i heard that wee AJ piece on state radio tonight

you know he said that they tried to pass the debt over into MIH so that it would from say 430 up to say 480

and pinkfLloyds told them to jog-on

AJ actually tried to BLAME the whole shooting match on the Lloyds brigade saying that they had the tenacity to actually LOAN rfc the money over all that time – i mean how dare a bank do such a thing ?

i could not believe it when the said that

there was no apparent thought in his mind that the getting one over on Timmy might have driven them to loan, loan and loan again to their own detriment

no thought of….ah….1967…the bassas…..we are the people….how DARE they win the big cup and WE the people be 2nd ? we MUST beg, BORROW and steal to get one over them !

    1967 has killed them

their pride could not hack it

    get in there !!

sad thing is….. they don’t even see it nor WANT to see it

as we rejoice in their demise may I take this chance to remind you to be careful in future weeks/months

their fans have always been renowned for the hatred and agression towards us, this will multiply 10 fold

stay safe and pick your moments for laughing at them as the lowlifes in their support (approx 97.8%) will lash out at all and sundry

Obviously we know where the sentiments of that poem have been borne. Without revealing them I’d like to use it in my class if that’s ok?

There’s a plethora of linguistic platitudes that I could attribute to it.

Oh and it’s no hawf bad either :-)))

  14. i dont think for a minute murray can walk back into rangers and splash the cash and i dont think whyte is so stupid to allow murray to force him out. the 18m rangers owed to the bank was 3% of what MIH owed the bank i.e. 600 million and with a potential 75 million bill coming rangers way you dont have to be a genius to work out that a return for murray is a pipedream, no way will the MIH board allow him to safe ranger’s with their money.

i think to much emphasis in being placed on the need for their survival by the old media, not enough is being placed on a future without them. i think scottish football could grow stronger if they are liquidated and reformed on the third division, if at all.

    push through:

    summer football

league reconstruction to 18 team, 1x home and away games, increasing potential competition from other team and hence increased gate.

play-off for european football (keep competition in middle of large league all season)

play-off i.e. 4 team for relegation (keep competition in the middle of league all season)

1 team relegated after play-off, overall losser drops down

2 automatically relegated (good potential for returning after drop)

squad size capped at 21 first team players (one transfer window)

television deal to free television i.e. stv/ channel 5 etc… for live games and highlights (higher viewing as its free and higher levels of exposure for sponsers etc… which increases and improves the sellability of the league and club sponsers

equal share of television money throughout league (only a small drop for in terms of income), but increased competion i.e. europe/ relagation/ champianship etc… promotes better crowds

games player on saturday 3pm (live games 12.45pm saturday/ 12.45 sunday only) to improve fans attendance i.e. knowing when games will be played.

think more young players would get their chance throughout the league in this formate, more derbies, minus old firm

no club allowed to spend more than they earn i.e. fairplay

l listen to Johnston interview. One thing that got me was when he said that because DM underwrote the share issue they the board sat back thinking he would do it again . this sums up the entire rangers fans view from the board down. They were waiting on Murray . He was their only plan. They were so conditioned to having a sugar daddy they became incapable of any autonomous thoughts or actions. Hence where they are now.
