Cadete scandal casts shadow

1236

Alexander (Sandy) Bryson has been mentioned in reports concerning another controversial matter in SFA history.  He was Head of Registrations when Celtic tried to register Jorge Cadete in 1996.  That case led to SFA chief executive, Jim Farry, being dismissed for gross misconduct after he failed to register the player in time for him to face Rangers in a Scottish Cup tie.

The Burness report into what happened noted that Farry “deflected responsibility to Mr (Sandy] Bryson (head of registrations] …. (on] certain executive decisions”.  In a contemporary article, Mirror Group Newspapers noted “it is unclear what part registration chief Sandy Bryson may have played in this debacle”.

Sevco are a newclub, with no history . And Scottish Football has no integrity

  2. And to think some booed the bunnet when he raised the flag,

The wee man would be tearing the SFA and SPL for ars@ paper if he was still our CEO.

Aye, those were the days. Miss the wee man and his ways in some respects.

Surely the man to raise the flag next season and to remind them he has not disappeared.

The Celtic Genie grants You one Wish..

    You have Two Options..

Option 1: Rangers get Caught cheating and a Independant panel Strip them of Titles (They Will never Accept) and the Play on in The SPL..

Option 2: Their Own Peepul Commit Football Hari-Kari and The Club Dies and then Wakes up in a Shower in The Lowest Tier in Scottish Football..

    And I’m a fan of his too…

Utterly disgusted by today, St Mirren game is too soon for a boycott

I see huns playing football every week, I hear the supporters doing what they have always done every week, I just can’t get my head around that they are not the same as has always been .

  9. Big-Cup-Winners – Thanks. Spiers knows, as a fan, his club cheated and seems honest enough to admit it. His journalistic integrity falls short though when it comes to punishment.

  10. Ambrose form is very concerning ….he is personally shipping goals on a game by game basis

Having I be taken off against Dundee was risible …..having to be moved out of defence after five mins against Motherwell was very very concerning

Needs a few weeks in the reserves to sort himself out ….

Not sure I’ve ever been that impressed anyway

  11. Geordie

keeping her faithful to the hoops won’t be a prob..it’s me I worry about..(not the hoops)

    he certainly is… o))

  12. The fine of £250,000 that is never going to be paid is frankly Pythonesque.

I would have been much harsher & fined them £25,000,000 which is never going to be paid.

The punishment must be made to fit the crime.

O, my God. What a sad & twisted wee country we live in.

Please hurry up and rub the bottle. There’s a few of us thinking the genie is going to stay inside.

What a bizarre corrupt place we live in. Over the next few days the message that Oldco “didn’t cheat”; “didn’t gain a sporting advantage” and “No titles were stripped from the world record holders, with 140 years history” will be repeated ad nauseum. The facts that defy these statements will be lost.

    bt,

good point, why would the appealant body be involved as a witness.

    PFayr,

you keep ignoring the “FACT” that according to the SFA there is no one more qualified on the rules than LNS and he would know exactly the criteria for eligibility, he would also know eligiblility is not discretionary or at the whim of an administrator. The players were ineligible according to the rule book, the fact the SFA declared them eligable against their own rules should have been identified by him.

But as you say its opinion

Whats your view on BT’s point, why would the appealant body be allowed to offer opinion as a witness.

    Boycott somebody……

    Walk away………

Not go back to the football…..

Withdraw our support from our club….they would like that btw…..

Please tell me what the answer is, we are fecked, Timmy has been put in his place today.

I also see the Zombies playing every week, it’s laughable to be honest, they are so poor.

I get what you mean, but back here in Bonnie Scotland we have to keep up the fight, I will never give them their history, they are dead, the fans of the dead club have attached themselves to a new club who play at a ground that was vacant and up for sale.

There are plenty of things that should have happened but didn’t, perhaps to placate the hordes, or for other reasons, who knows, but the next time we visit ipox and play a team wearing blue, it will be the first time ever those clubs have met.

I am actually quite proud that we have pursued justice ‘long an hard’ …….. They are shameless, and don’t have any ‘character’ at all …… They shafted Scottish Football to an incredible extent and, as a result of today’s ‘punishment’, they will continue to pollute the sport of football in this Country, but hopefully not for too long now…….
