Cadete scandal casts shadow

1236

Alexander (Sandy) Bryson has been mentioned in reports concerning another controversial matter in SFA history.  He was Head of Registrations when Celtic tried to register Jorge Cadete in 1996.  That case led to SFA chief executive, Jim Farry, being dismissed for gross misconduct after he failed to register the player in time for him to face Rangers in a Scottish Cup tie.

The Burness report into what happened noted that Farry “deflected responsibility to Mr (Sandy] Bryson (head of registrations] …. (on] certain executive decisions”.  In a contemporary article, Mirror Group Newspapers noted “it is unclear what part registration chief Sandy Bryson may have played in this debacle”.

    Damn right!

So the institution that stole quarter of a billion and 22 trophies gets fined quarter of a million like I tellt all of ye.

And Ibrox that was claimed to be worth 150 mill is now Sevco’s for 5.

Good luck Celtic you’re gonna need it. I will always support you.

Football gets not one more penny from me though.

I thought Efe looked good when he first started, but, his spatial awareness and concentration are lacking. More worryingly, opposition managers in the SPL are starting to target him as a weak link.

The only decent central defender we have, at present , is Kelvin Wilson, who reminds me of big Johan – knows his capabilities and doesn’t try to play beyond them.

I am disappointed in Rogne , he looked as though he had potential , but injuries and a lack of confidence have curtailed him, and he now looks as though he is playing with half an eye elsewhere. Maybe , just maybe , NL can inspire him with confidence and point out that there is a No 5 jersey up for grabs.

A judge can only deal with the facts as are presented …..he can’t give evidence in a hearing in which they are presiding

If they are the appellate body they should not have been involved in the original hearing

    It’s an SFA stitch up

Yep, the denial from the huns gets stronger with every decision the corrupt guardians of Scottish football allows thems to crawl away from.

Yes they are in liquidation but not gone…here’s hoping Charlie chuckles finishes the job.

Fair play to you, keep telling it like it really is, I honestly want to believe it, but being a stubborn old fecker…….

At the end of the day, how long do you reckon before everything is back to normal, and the huns are back in the top division, challenging for the CL place ??????

Oh, dear, what a thought, it might just be sooner than we think, after all they have been treated disgracefully, they have been vindicated from all alleged crimes…..

    We will regret this day………

The constant mocking of the Orcs has been great fun. Their current team is a joke too.

But Green has his eye on the prize and is no mug. He has them dancing to his tune like some pied piper. They turn up in droves and hang on to every sound-byte TFPLG and Challs spout. They are getting stronger; Celtic are not.

Our club is in the doldrums with a support that can’t be ar$ed going to the game. Internal friction between the board and fan groups threaten outright civil war.

The support are rudderless and it’s heartbreaking to see Celtic park half empty. The club seems impotent at this point.

Nothing would unite and impassion supporters like a fight. Green picked one tonight are Celtic willing to take up his challenge ?

  16. TET, their dream of getting successive promotion is optimistic, next year will be harder, after a transfer window with no players coming in, how many going out to balance the books.

Then, depending on restructure, Div. 1 even at the first try, that is a hard division to get out of.

Then they get into the SPL, will they attract top players, not internationally, so, 6-7 years to be challenging, just an opinion.

  17. I haven’t read back so forgive me if this has already been asked. But I assume now that it has been confirmed that the Huns played improperly registered players due to ‘administrative errors’ the SFA will rewrite the history books in relation to the Scottish Cup & League cup?? Obviously they will now realise that since they hav thrown clubs out of these competitions for minor admin errors they must now strip the cups from the Old RFC. (I won’t hold my breath).

  20. LNS, his team and the SPHell couldn’t believe their luck when Bryson provided their get-out.

They did need to do some legal gymnastics to come up with their reasons, but at least they could finger the SFA.

    Pathetic, but so obvious.

Stillwating to hear what you would have the board say and what action they should take’

The board should issue a statement condemning the decision.

If they feel they can take no further action they should say so.

Though before they adopt that as their position Peter Lawwell should phone Fergus McCann and ask him for advice as to how to deal with it.

I too think Rogne is for the off, who was the EPL manager who came up for a game and left raving about him?

If he was part of lennys plans, he would have been dealt in by now or sold in the last window, still think Ambrose has a future tho’
