Cadete scandal casts shadow

1236

Alexander (Sandy) Bryson has been mentioned in reports concerning another controversial matter in SFA history.  He was Head of Registrations when Celtic tried to register Jorge Cadete in 1996.  That case led to SFA chief executive, Jim Farry, being dismissed for gross misconduct after he failed to register the player in time for him to face Rangers in a Scottish Cup tie.

The Burness report into what happened noted that Farry “deflected responsibility to Mr (Sandy] Bryson (head of registrations] …. (on] certain executive decisions”.  In a contemporary article, Mirror Group Newspapers noted “it is unclear what part registration chief Sandy Bryson may have played in this debacle”.

Apols, I’ve not had a chance to read back yet. Always enjoyed and valued your posts. Your opinion still stands, surely you know that. I didn’t renew my ST this year either, and I’m clogging up the broadband :(

  2. One other thing

the outcome does not surprise me in the least. The repercussions if truth and honesty prevailed were overwhelming. It’s not just the huns we struggle against… it is the make up of a society where greed, lies, and self preservation rule.

Just look at the political set up????

Parliament? Lords? Rank, file, pomp and privilege rule the day still. Always have done. Hopefully one day humanity will see through this – that is a personal wish of mine.

This is the situation most likely to invoke the anger of Sc football supporters – it’s very closely related to what happened last year. I see them overlooking the rest of it. So as long as the SFA/ SPL concentrate their media management on that side of things, the league reconstruction, along with strange rulings from “independent tribunals” will all be overlooked, and this will be taken as a green light by those in control. You’ve found a way they can fast track sevco – I bet they have another dozen :((

Ps don’t agree with you on your last point amigo – don’t want to play them ever ever again. It’d be like playing football against Frankenstein’s Monster :))

“never ever trust a guy called sandy”

I reckon that’s the best bit of advice I’ve had in recent times.

Am also sure I was given that advice when young, but being youfful chose to ignore it, to my error.

Alexander the Great used to have sex with his favourite general, and encourange homosexuality amongst his other generals, the night before battle, and war historians reckon this was a big part of his success. This is the importance of the name “Sandy/ Alex/ Alexander”.

Heh heh heh. Tis true. :)))

James, it’s not getting there that would be success. Just taking the first step on a journey in the right direction would be a start.

Here’s yer first step…..A posting to every club blog/message board and a letter to every fanzine. Test the water and find out. We have the technology….we can rebuild it…and we can OWN the objective and the outcome across all of football. Look at what is possible and not what the obstacles might be.

Otherwise what do we do? Nothing?

Thanks for that. My point was merely that Im not on here much now, and as opppossed to last couple of seasons, I only made one match this.

\others on here (Hamiltontim, Barroch, etc helped last season, and I still hold them in much respect).

So when the talk is about the performance I have nothing much to say.

Still itching to say I wish the younger guys, Watt, MaGeough, George, Findlay? would have more game time. There are others as well. Atijack??? I’d just like to see them pushed into the first team. Anyway. Others will know the youth team much better than me.

But I’d like to see our club say “No reconstruction for next year”. Let’s agree a proposal for season ending 1213-1214.

    Fortunes Favours Maybee.

I get your point. But burying the new Huns would be so sweet. Especially with Green Brigade banners welcoming them to first ever Celtic v The Rangers.

You’re other point about homosexuality among Alexander and his troops goes over my head. SandyandJulian,cfc@friendsofdorothy

That’s a great question amigo – I have no idea. But if you delve into the history of Matt and Celtic (two very serperate entities) you’ll find their paths cross a lot. I’ll ask someone I know who’s a Matt McGinn expert and see if there’s a story re McGinn’s the bar.

Another song for you to hear – with Matt McGinn it’s all in the lyrics:

And all with a sense of humour, albeit it feckin true. I’d say he’d be writing a few songs about the SFA and Salmond’s Praetorian Guard, if he hadn’t been taken from us before now.

Wee agree on a lot I reckon (except for the playing thems again).

Glad to see a wee chat about the actual football, it’s a refreshing relief:

“Others will know the youth team much better than me” – good call on the youngsters and a reference to Lenny who was a big part of their education. Is it showing now? Is he trying to build a good squad that can alter tactics? Of course he is. He’s a flamin genius.

And this on top of what he’s gone through here. Was a busy day for me today, but when I saw the result (here on CQN), my first thoughts were, Lenny, get the hell out of here. The PLC of Celtic are holding you back. Since he took over, my concern for Celtic winning trophies has been over-ridden by my will to see Lenny winning them. He’s represented Celtic in ways most of us would even dread to contemplate, yet still has a team playing outstanding football, and as some are quick to say here “over-achieving”, which annoys the flying feck out of me. Apols, I’m ranting, I do that, and when with pals, I see their faces and it’s easier to stop.

Scottish football is deid, it was always dying anyway. The big thing here is where do we as Celtic FC go. The Celtic board need to get their thumbs out – even if it meant a year out of football, this support would be back double-fold. But to carry on as is, with the status quo, the support is eroding. The finest financier in the world couldn’t overcome this without change.

    =================================

Have to say Im a huge Matt McGinn fan. And John McLean.

The pub, which is a wee bit scabby, but in my drinking days I frequented, often on an afternoon meeting my auld man. Pub isn’t that bad, just full of very drunken old men and chancers. If you cannae handle that that don’t drink in Glasgow town.

It’s very much a Celtic pub but being city centre and jakey it is a mixture. As a homage to Matt McGinn it’s disappointing, though it has copies of his albums (note to youngsters, awfy big CD’s). All in, as a place to meet and just have a couple, it’s fine.

I could get the Auld Yin to tell you some stories about Matt. Need to say he was a good man. I’ll link a couple of his football songs in a minute, but he was reeally a folk singer and comedian. He was very outspoken at the time, St Columba and the Masons, but seems a bit tame now. He was a Socialist all his life.

Ef the sfa, the spl and Scottish ref committee. I want Celtic out of it and have done for three years now, I don’t see any point in continuing the lie of open and fair competition.

Celtic fc will get my full backing if they stand up for themselves and if they roll over then it’s the beginning of the end for Scottish football and our club.

Scottish football is rigged and always will be if left in its current form, so its a root and branch change or leave them to rot, I can’t see any other way forward and won’t be swayed by blind loyalty to our club and status quo.

The testimony of Bryson is the equivalent of perjury. He knows his interpretation of the regulations is false,as there are plenty of contrary precedents, and not one in support of his evidence.

The outcome is that the huns are not to be punished. Even though punishment is clearly due.

IMO,our quest for punishment shouldn’t include punishing ourselves,

As I said earlier,I hope the club will stay silent on this, but up the ante behind the scenes. Our departure from Scottish football is long overdue. The forces of darkness can squall over what is left.
