Calmness will prevent Big Dan Moments

921

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a home game; 4th August, against Aberdeen.  Since then we’ve played five games on the road, three of which involved international travel, with two games in the Highlands.

Statistical analysis shows that form suffers when teams are forced to pile-up away fixtures.  Training schedules are interrupted as travel eats into time which would otherwise be spent fine-tuning fitness or working on defensive/forward strategy.  Instead Celtic have improved enormously from their Flag Day at the beginning of the month, despite, or perhaps, because, Neil Lennon has indulged in extensive use of a squad rotation policy.

No one at Celtic will be complacent ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League play-off, the ghost of Ross County in 2010 and Inverness in 2011 will see to that.  One ‘Big Dan Moment’ is all it takes to turn a comfortable lead into a tight tie with a player deficit, but I suspect Neil Lennon will be more concerned with putting the brakes on his players, rather than motivating them.  A calm and organised performance is required.

Berra is a very left footed centre half, not nearly as good as Charlie Mulgrew, anyone can see that except the muppet in charge of the national team. Would we spend money on a back up for Mulgrew? A right sided centre half required

    ————————————————————————————–

I think the idea is to get Charlie back into the LB position. He is better there for me than izzy imo. Much more creative. I think Berra would be a good signing!

  3. Morning CQN,

I’m looking for some advice,my cousin is desperately looking for a job since graduating from Glasgow Caledonia University two years ago, where he obtained a 2-1 honours in accountancy. He’s still to gain his ACCA but is finding it difficult without a company.

Does anyone know of anywhere that would be taking on personal? OR anywhere he could gain experience,he’s more than willing to do voluntary work to gain the experience?

The guy is getting desperate about the whole situation, and I wouldn’t normally ask on CQN.

Need to head out just now but here’s my email addy miksupastar@gmail.com

Young Tony is a great weapon to have on the bench once their legs tire. Read quotes from their Captain yesterday, sound like a team who just want their season to finish.

They will still be dangerous right enough.

  7. Proudbhoy, if you’re in chaweng ask behind the bar at the Irish place opposite mcdonalds. They should help. Or you could stay another day and watch it there! : )

  8. a ship called dignity on

Whopee !! Got password al last – only been 3 months – had so much to say at the height of Govan Storm – but great to be here at last

  9. I am in a quandary about tomorrow night…..should we stick TW up front with Hooper, and give them a taste of Jock Stein style rammification? Or is discretion the better part of valour and we give them a lesson in possession football?

They seem quite adept at possession, so I’d go for attack attack attack.

One thing I’m glad of…..I’m not Neil Lennon…consequently I don’t have to make that kind of decision. He’ll do it for me!

    HH!

  10. IMO…

The broadfoot, Sally looking for a way to mutually terminate the contract, is spin to avoid another ‘walking away’ story.

Can’t pull the wool over these peepers! lol

“Celtic’s Paddy McCourt and St Johnstone’s Alan Mannus make Northern Ireland’s World Cup qualifying squad.”

Photo is of uber-hun David Healy, who DIDNAE make the squad…

Nae photies of Paddy at BBC Scotland?

    Not surprised…

  12. TWTD understands that Daryl Murphy’s season-long loan move to the Blues from Celtic could be completed as soon as tomorrow. Talks regarding the 29-year-old’s return to Portman Road have been ongoing for the last couple of days with the Irish international back from his hamstring injury sooner than had been expected.

Murphy was back in training with the SPL champions yesterday having suffered the injury only a fortnight ago.

Discussions regarding his loan to the Blues – his third temporary move to the club in addition to a number of spells on trial while with hometown club Waterford United – will continue today, but with all parties keen for the deal to go through, the situation could be resolved by Wednesday.

  13. I should add, they are avoiding another walking away story just as they have fooled the former rangers support into stumping up for a season books and got the band wagon rolling for cup games. World records the lot don’t you know ! lol

    Nothing stupid!

They’ve not just got to beat us, they’ve go to beat us well.

Sit back, soak up the pressure and then hit them on the break should be the plan.

  15. IMO we have to start with young Jamesy on t he right and Sammi on the left.

Stretch them on the flanks and keep their full-backs in their own half.

Would also have young Tony on from the start with Hooper.

    So there!

    HH!!

At the risk of sounding flippant, but what the hell, I’d recommend Duff&Phelps….looks like you could make a fortune there, even as the office gofer,if their latest accounts are anything to go by.

Have you seen their per diem rates for doing the most lowly of tasks?

    Staggering.

And why not screw rfc(almost liquidised) for whatever….everybody else is.

The only bods gettin’ nada are the creditors….right down to the face-painter owed £40.

We should have a collection…..pay her,and a wee bit on top for interest, and shame the ***** out of them.
