Celtic swept St Mirren aside this afternoon as a hat-trick from Gary Hooper and goals from Georgios Samaras and Dylan McGeough
Celtic came roaring out of the traps and blew St Mirren away this afternoon. Georgios Samaras got the show underway on 4 minutes when he collected the ball after Marc McAusland failed to make a clean connection on the ball. Samaras still had a lot to do and carried the ball into the box. With defenders closing in from all around the Greek striker placed his shot instead of going for power. St Mirren keeper, Craig Samson got a hand to the shot but the ball spun slowly towards goal and settled 8” over the line.
Four minutes later, a clearly confident Samaras drove into the St Mirren penalty box before cutting the ball left for Anthony Stokes, who’s fired cross was turned over the line from 3 yards by Gary Hooper.
Samaras was running the show but was hampered by a knock to the ankle which he took a few moments to recover from. This coincided with St Mirren’s best period of play as the visitors gained more possession and territorial advantage in the period before half time.
Celtic started the second half just as brightly as they did the first as Hooper and Kayal could both have added to the score, however, the third would arrive 8 minutes into the second half. Victor Wanyama played an excellent forward pass to Stokes who hit the goal line before cutting back for Gary Hooper. Hooper collected with his back to goal but spun and shot in a sweeping move that left Samson with no chance.
Hooper completed his hat-trick on 57 minutes when he tried to play a one-two with Stokes but the ball was returned by a defender, allowing him to chip the on-rushing Samson.
18-year-old Dylan McGeough made his first impact as a Celtic player minutes after replacing James Forrest when he collected the ball 10 yards in front of his own box, ran 70 yards into the St Mirren box, before creating space and despatching Celtic’s fifth goal. An unforgettable moment for the young player.

Hamilton at 13.03
If its offensive and our fans are being castigated for apparently offensive chants, why shouldnt theirs. Or should we be treated differently?
That’s a shocker about Gary Speed.
Met him inAyr about 15 years back when he was up for an international youth tournament with Leeds Utd youths or some team like that. Talked over a pint about footy in general, really pleasant fella.
There’s more to this than ‘straightforward’ suicide (if there can be such a thing), though we may never know dependent on family wishes.
RIP
The huns obviously don’t agree with Sands political position, that’s political sectarianism and aired in public in an offensive manner.
A fantastic weekend turned sad, R.I.P. Gary Speed.

My point is that current legislation is enough to deal with the singing of racist or sectarian songs. Of course we shouldn’t be treated any differently, that was my intended point.
Singing f Bobby Sands is surely glorifying death……..
Good footballer Gary Speed the guy must have been under some sort of pressure may he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.
watching a bit of the killie match
we will win this league – rangers are gash
Hamilton- in the absence of any new legislation we have been reported to both EUFA and the SFA for “offensive chants”- so even laying aside the “even it up” bill- we should still be able to call for them to be cited by the SFA for their chants- going by what the polis have set as acceptable standards
Dreadful game of football doon Ayrshire way!

the other side of the same ‘ooh ah up the ra’ coin, no….?
RIP Gary Speed;
meddylion gyda ei deulu…
How anybody can expect songs being sung about the IRA being stopped when other fans are singing about one of its political representatives is beyond me.

Agreed but for me it shows how ridiculous things have got. I do think that the accusations levelled against us will come to nothing, as it should.
Imatim/Goldstar
For me the ref was no better and no worse than was to be expected; the level of officiating lately has been better but they are ALL incompetent.
Allowing them to lift £800 sheets a game should be a criminal offence!
Glenda threw the ball away petulantly and Sammi raised his hands to push a player away.
If opposing players did that in a game against us and DIDN’T get booked we would be shouting HUN from the rooftops.
We take away from the performance by carping on about the ref all the time.
Someone once said ‘If youre good enough the ref wont matter’
Cant think who said it but…
We WERE good enough and the ref DID NOT matter!
ps before you all say it I DO know who said it!
Gary Speed was the sort of footballer I would have in any side–a bit like Joe Ledley. Very honest, but uncompromising. He only retired a couple of years ago, and on Football Focus yesterday looked fit and well. Fans loved him at every club he was at, and that tells you a lot. Only God knows what was on his mind. The Welsh team were looking terrific after only a handful of matches under his guidance. Say a prayer for his soul, and for the Lord to look after those he’s left behind.
the old what minute will the penalty be given sweep will be starting soon
they are stinking the place out
Hamilton- I think we are in full agreement

It´s not really rankers I´m worried about.
Now see that lad in the black, with the whistle, and the 2 lads in black standing at the sides,…
Muir is bent and has previous with us.
They will be positively mibbed this season.
We, negatively.
Watch this space.
Killie keeper doing his best to provide an assist for the huns, passing the ball about his area. And not for the first time.
Good afternoon bhoys, thats all the running around after the weins finished.
Gary Speed so sad, looked fine on motd yesterday
anyone got a link to the Celtic highlights from yesterday?
oh and come on the Killie.
EBM without doubt mate
thankfully Swansea v Villa is starting soon so i dont have to watch anymore
i feel dirty even tuning in to them
Don’t want to tempt fate and all that I’d love to see Forrest or McCourt or Commons or Sammi or young McGeough on form and running at the football comedian, Kirk Broadfoot.
He’s not very good.

Lennon n mc…
I for one certainly would never ask for the Celtic support to desist from singing such songs.
I’ve not put my point across properly.
In my opinion the huns should be allowed to sing any song that isn’t racist or sectarian. We should be afforded the same courtesy.
Lafatmee a way up the tunnel with sore tights
who’s Kane Hemmings? on now for lafatmee
Are the huns getting these guys oot the crowd?

Just checked in to Sky and the commentator managed to get in the fact that Raith Rovers had shocked Celtic 17 years ago today. That was after interviewing that Uber Hun Jimmy Nicholl. This is the same Jimmy Nicholl who led the Windsor Park crowd in the chanting against the Republic of Ireland in a World Cup qualifier. Jack Charlton said it was the first time in his life that he could actually FEEL hate. Nice guy.
Bradfoot with his 5th foul.
All ignored by mib.
That was a good shout for a penno.
After a review, good shout.

Apologies, the confusion was my fault.
Anyone needing an idea for a cheap, meaningful Xmas present for a fellow Tim.
Download as many Celtic FC clips from Youtube as you can onto a Memory Stick. I’ve done 100 of what i would say greatest moments, goals, interviews, songs etc. (Bellamy not signing THAT top is in there). Kitalba you added a few this morning that i had forgotten, Celts for change & The Takeover (oops) so thanks to you.
Takes a bit of time but it is well worth it & the more you do the more excited you get when you remember a Classic Moment. HH
