Celtic cruise past relegation battlers

757

Celtic didn’t need to get out of second gear to overcome Dunfermline yesterday, making it one of the most comfortable performances of the season.  After the festive season games against Rangers in the previous two seasons we played the team bottom of the league, Falkirk and Hamilton, both of whom were subsequently relegated, but we dropped points on each occasion.  Teams fighting for SPL survival are filled with players fighting for money to pay their mortgages, no result can be assured.

Dunfermline are everyone’s hot tip for relegation but they are still missing several players and having watched Hibs capitulation against Hearts yesterday I reckon nothing is clear cut yet.  Hibs are in trouble.

very true, is it wrong of me to think am right?lol

  2. Stephbhoy,

Wouldn’t disagree with too many of your keep and sell proposals.

The only watch out is selling / moving on 12 / 14 players could leave us short, and such a big change always carries a risk.

The good thing is that we are top of the league and can hopefully sign from a position of strength.

If we got a good offer for Ki (£7 m +) , I would take it , and try to use the cash to get in a decent loan player – maybe someone looking for a shop window , or ! With Euro 2012 coming up there will be players who want to keep fit.

  3. Snyde tonight is funny. The huns phoning in are frothing at the mouth about the thought of signing GARY O’CONNOR. Another wants to bring in half a squad during the transfer window…

If Craigy boy is listening in he will be thinking to himself “You’re awe mental – There’s nae money.”

    Do we even exist?

BBC, STV, Radio Clyde … all ignoring us?

You know the answer to this. Destroy all opposition. Win the treble. Make them cover our triumph in teeth-clenched fury.

One solid hour of Rangers on Clyde. One hour.

What is most entertaining though are the names of players who are exciting the Rangers fans. SPL dross like O’Conner, who couldn’t get into the Hibs team yesterday. Templeton, who I am less than impressed by. Ian Black. And, of course – haha – Boyd and Novo.

And the best bit is this; Rangers fans now ACCEPT they will lose a top player, and in return will get SPL dross replacements. Think how much more they will accept in years to come, spoonfed by the same hacks who let the club fall into the hands of the Trotter Brothers.

Who still thinks Whyte will need to run to the three-wheel van for his get away? These deluded clowns can be sold dog turds with the promise they’ll become diamonds. Like Kate Price, they swallow anything.

They are having a right fit on FF. Someone has posted this, prrof positive that McCoist isn’t of the right stock

    ——

Anytime the FF mob are ragin is funny. Is it just that he didnt pick the huns as his favourite other team or are they upset that he picks Kenny Dalglish as his favourite player?

On a different note King Kenny and LFC have gone down in my opinion by there support of Suarez, even after the most detailed FA investigation immaginable found him guilty of racist abuse. There is supporting your own players but LFC are supporting the indefensible.

Sincere apologies Ernie, I thought you were comparing aspects of the case of the conviction of 2 murderous racists, after 18 years of grief for the Lawrence family, in a case that proved the Met to be corrupt and institutionally racist with the financial collapse of Rangers.

James it is a huge annoyance for me.

Who do these guys think they are ? They barely earn the credibility to be described as “sports journalists” yet are quite happy to go onto a national radio station and spout ill informed nonsense about a hugely complex tax case when they quite clearly havent got the first clue about the world of commerce.

However if that gives fault hope to the great unwashed then all well and good.

think lenny is playing a blinder in the players he is bringing in, few of the player mentioned to leave have kicked a ball for us whilst those brought in can play several positions i.e. mathews, lustig, charlie, victor, brown, sammy, ledley etc…

the 3 quality players would/should enhance the overall quality of the squad and there would still be 2 and in some cases 3 players for each position after the deadwood is gone

when youth get a chance sometimes you end up with a stronger squad

  21. Saltires,

Good to hear from you & yes I saw the acceptance.

Family are all good, hopefully you are enjoying life ?

I saw our Munich acquaintance last week, and, coming out of East End Park yesterday.

Onto football …. If we sign someone he needs to make an instant impact.

If we look at our signings over the last 2 or 3 years, we can classify them as

    – players who make an instant impact

    – players who take 3 or 4 months to make an impact

    – players who don’t make an impact at all.

Without being over negative, we have had very few players in recent years who make an instant impact. Even guys like hooper, Matthews, Kayal, Wanyama , took 8 / 10 weeks to click in.

I suspect Lustig was signed for next season.

With only 16 games to go, we need a guy who can score goals now , not a guy that will click in April or may.

i’ve got a soft spot for LFC having stayed down there for a bit

was in the kop for the BBJ game – their fans wished us all the best in the rest of the tourny – very magnanimous – saying hope we went all the way to victory

i suppose kenny jist tryin to defend his squad – but prob too much on this occasion – all down to the difficulties in having a vast mix of cultures

Sorry for getting into discussion. The answer on your question might be very simple. I just read interview with Jelavic on Croatian website.

Looks like he knows nothing about any offers.

He said: When I read these news about news clubs where the journalists see me, I laugh to myself. I know nothing about these offers.
