Celtic cruise past relegation battlers

757

Celtic didn’t need to get out of second gear to overcome Dunfermline yesterday, making it one of the most comfortable performances of the season.  After the festive season games against Rangers in the previous two seasons we played the team bottom of the league, Falkirk and Hamilton, both of whom were subsequently relegated, but we dropped points on each occasion.  Teams fighting for SPL survival are filled with players fighting for money to pay their mortgages, no result can be assured.

Dunfermline are everyone’s hot tip for relegation but they are still missing several players and having watched Hibs capitulation against Hearts yesterday I reckon nothing is clear cut yet.  Hibs are in trouble.

Radio Clyde doing an absolute parody of itself.

Half an hour into the show … the entire thing (bar one call, at the end of which there were questions, for two minutes, about who Celtic would sell) has been about Rangers. I kid you not. They have not mentioned – the panelists – the team which sits at the top of the SPL. They haven’t talked about us at all!

It was Rangers who opened the show. Rangers who opened the Scottish Cup preview and every mention of other clubs turns into a “would Rangers be interested in any of their players?” discussion.

Seriously lol … it’s offensive, but in a funny kind of way.

Wee James is one of the good guys.

He was seen by us strolling happily outside the stadium in Seville with his good lady and Owen Coyle and his wife too if memory serves. Very relaxed and spoke away to any fans who asked for photos. Also, don’t forget his outing of the scabrous Amoruso as a Latin cheat and scoundrel in the ‘grog-gate’ scandal when he played for the Ayr Excited.

I’ll not hear a word agin him.

conflicting stories on Rhodes – some say thay have a 2mill release clause, others say WHam have already bid 3.5 so should have triggered the 2mill

as for Baba, they say he may be off to Greece, Maritimo want us to enter a bidding war – think TET said last night either Greece or Spain

4mill a lot for us, but if we want to win, we’ve got to be prepared to go that extra mile

  6. ‘This highly professional display against one of the form teams in Scotland this season, though, suggested they can survive – thrive even – without him.’

Oh dear, fair enough, Murderwell are high up in the league, but to spin the orcs victory as being over one of the form teams? Come on. How long ago was it that they were ‘second equal’ with us? Not that long ago. And how many points behind us are they?

The facts are, is that Motherwell had picked up 8 points from a possible 18 from their previous 6 games.

    Form team? Gie’s peace.

James Forrest I believe its getting worse STV news started with Rangers and yesterday during Scottish 8.10mw radio Dunfermline v Celtic the number of times they mentioned Rangers was unbelievable. Also the Number of times they have mentioned Healey scoreing is quite desperate. They are in serious financial trouble and appear to be in complete denial.H.H.

yes the Celtic directors have participated eah year -and I read somewhere that Sir Robert Kelly was renowned for his singing (baritone/bass?) of God Save the Queen (it might have been in History of the Celts)

aslo heard a wee whisper from a very reliable source that Sir Moonbeams used this event to ‘welcome’ wee Fergus with a very specific statement about what he thought of him and Celtic…seemingly Fergus was furious and it renewed his motivation to make Celts a success.

thems love to ‘use’ such events….Celts just play the game as you can imagine how the press would have spun the story had they refused

another reason why we should savour their current sitiuation

“We’ll move onto Celtic … for a minute.”

Ha! Why am I listening to this ??? “Doctor … can you help me?”

And they weren’t kidding! A minute – ONE MINUTE – is exactly what we got!!!

  22. Jeez oh do people still listen to Radio Clyde?

It’s no been the same since Jimmy Sanderson left.

I think I have only been unfortunate to hear it once in ten years just a few months in fact and that great footballer and crack panalist Gordon Dalziel no less was on. I thought imagine getting one of those new DAB radios and you end up listening to him. I think I would rather have Classic FM than that gobsmite.

Celtic mentioned for the second time by “panelists.”

  26. Reporting Scotland- All the Rangers goals, Jelavic, Novo, Healy, Lafferty etc etc. Not even a mention of the Celtic game, nothing, zilch, nada, totally ignored.

Did big Lafferty do his hammy trying to avoid one of the blue balloons- haha after the wrapping paper mess they made at Celtic Park last week, sweet irony.
