Is that the time?  Many thanks to everyone who submitted questions for the Club to answer at the Forum this evening.  CQN submitted six pages of questions along with many other groups, from which an agenda has been prepared (below):

Stadium Atmosphere and Matchday Policy:

What is the current position in respect of the Green Brigade?

Do the Club believe their response to Motherwell was justified and proportionate?

Stewarding at home matches is heavy handed in certain sections of the Stadium e.g. Block 122 and Blocks 110, 111 & 112, is there a reason for this?

The presence of FoCUS at home matches is intimidating and antagonises supporters, is it necessary to have them and if so can they be located in an area which is less intrusive?

Can the Club introduce a code of conduct which all Stewards need to sign up to?

Attending matches is expensive, what are the Club’s plans on ticket pricing?

Safe Standing has been regularly discussed, what is the current position?

The Coach Park has been relocated to an area which is unsuitable for the majority of fans who use it, what is the longer term plan?

The Kerrydale Bar has been a welcome addition to matchday are there plans for another?

What are the Club’s thoughts on the current location of the Family Section?

Stadium Catering has long since been considered over-priced and sub-standard, what is the current position in terms of offering an improved service?

Many fans feel their support is taken for granted, would the Club consider adding value by recognising long-term support for 5, 10, 15 years’ Season Ticket purchase by offering upgrades to Premium or Corporate for a day?

With so many empty seats on match day at present can the Club not allocate these to good causes, school and youth groups and community projects?

PR & Communication:

There is a perception that the Club are quick to criticise our fans but slow to praise them, what’s the Club’s view?

Why is the Club not more vocal when our Manager, Players and Fans are attacked in the media?

The Club is seen to be slow to react to key issues through the media, why is this?

The Club has stated its opposition to the OBTC Act but there is a sense that it has to do more in support of the fans who are affected by this, will the Club take a more vocal position?

Is this meeting a recognition from the Club that a gap exists between the Club and the fans?

The Club are often considered to be on the back foot in terms of PR, is there recognition of this from within and is there a plan to drive the PR strategy by producing more positive stories?

Would the Club consider the introduction of a weekly phone-in show to combat existing shows which often provide misinformation or unrealistic comparisons from unqualified sources?

Supporter Specific Issues:

Given the level of demand which exists, would the Club consider adding to to the excellent new disabled supporters’ facility or creating something similar in another part of the stadium?

Fixture re-scheduling at short notice is costing supporters money and ultimately driving fans away, can the Club seek an agreement with all other Clubs that a minimum notice period is put in place?

Would the Club consider a floating credits scheme for fans outside Scotland to mitigate losses when matches are rescheduled?

Murrayfield – what is the plan relative to transportation and kick-off times, also Edinburgh cannot be accessed in a 24-hr trip by Irish supporters, can this be reflected in their Season Ticket offering?

At present away, neutral and European match ticket allocations are based on attendance of matches at each of the defined categories.  Would the Club consider a scheme where all matches are taken into account including attendance at home matches as this would encourage more fans to attend home games?

For European match ticket allocation there is no stated policy at present, this leads to confusion as fans don’t always know when they will receive an offer or if it’s first come first served, this needs to be made clear by way of a stated policy which allows for clarity and gives supporters a defined process.

    Ernie.

I responded to you the other day.

    That response still stands.

You`re not the slightest bit interested in my views.

All you want is an opportunity to insult.

    Go for it.

  4. Ernie,

All your points are bang on but most don’t effect income which is what tt is on aboot.

Last question! If we get the 100 bus from Edinburgh airport are we better getting off at Murrayfield stop or Haymarket stop for the game on Saturday?

    Thanks

We can agree to disagree on that one. I think our income will still be higher.

They still have to negotiate another year in the lower leagues and have no European football and no pedigree at that level or experience. They will strugle in Europe. Celtic should make the league stages of the CL next season and maybe even get a Europa league run. Celtic have kept money by waiting for them to come up.

Celtic know the challenge is to stay in that top spot and win the title.

So if I take out a payday loan to pay the Car or Mortgage because i’m skint

say £2 grand with repayments of about £4k ,I’m sure the said lender would want security against said loan and the chances of me paying next month are nil:))))

Reminded of a story from a pal when the provy man came to the door he told his wife to tell them he would pay them double next week, she just said” If we cant pay it single this week there is NO chance we can pay it double next week ,pay the man”

No doubt Establishment skullduggery will try and help them out but they are in the ever tightening grip of the spivs.

    Life is good csc:)))))

Murrayfield stop is not far from the Roseburn Bar. You will see the Hoops. Don;t get off at Haymarket. It’s a fair walk back to the ground.

Much does the airport bus cost these days?

You may be better just jumping a taxi from the airport. It will be much quicker and take you to the pub. The cost may not be much different.

    Just a thought.

It was really witty, wasn’t it. Rapier like even.

  14. navanbhoy

As Livibhoy will know, be very careful when leaving the ground. Walking back to to town via Haymarket is not well advised after games against that mob.

If you’re heading into town you’re better getting a bus from the bus stop opposite the Murrayfield Bar, which is about 50 yards away from the Roseburn in the same block.

I would bypass Haymarket totally and go further into town. Malones would be a good bet….

Apart from all that – enjoy!

It was a simple enough question.

I suppose we’ll just have to draw our own conclusions.

  16. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

No we’re Celtic supporters. TD started to have a go at teachers last night. Don’t expect us to sit back and abide by the Marquis of Queensbery rules when we’re being attacked. This is CelticQuickNews not The Guardian.

  17. The huns have just to beat Albion Rovers before playing at Ibroke for the semi

They certainly have a chance to get to the final. Just hope the Dons don’t fluff their lines.

Rock Tree Bhoy, Personally I avoid direct communications with TD like the plague. However I can’t avoid reading the inter-action between himself and a few others. He is certainly no shrinking violet and can well stand up for himself and gives as good as he gets.

The state of the stadium suggests the income won’t be spent on assembling a squad.

And without a squad that can compete they won’t get the footfall.

  21. 1ST rule of of ‘Smart arse club’

If someone is a smarterse right back at you, don’t winge aboot it.

  22. Rock tree Bhoy

I doubt that the TD needs much support. If anyone comes across as the playground bully it is him.

He is trenchant in his opinions. Often generalises his views and personalises any differing view.

Most actions get a similar reaction.

  23. Ernie,

    Again, I completely agree.

What I’m saying is I think tt is very naive if he thinks bigger crowd means bigger income.

    Tons of other factors imo.

  24. Livibhoy

Agree my bhoy. Only 2 Irish pubs in Edinburgh that have a “real” Irish aura about them…Malones is one and Dropkicks (more of a nightclub, but decked out as a pub, with brilliant GAA memorabilia) is the other…..both owned by Irish guys, and good lads.

Don’t get me started on Biddys and other chains…..

  25. corkcelt- SUPPORTING THE DAM 5 on

TOSB, Nope wasn’t that witty or rapier like but I just have a most peculiar sense of humour. Silly things make me laugh and his post just did, absolutely not taking sides or laughing at you. Sorry if I offended you.

    11:01 on 20 February, 2014,

With you on “thems” holding out and the proverbial hitting the fan early next season… Though I think they will weigh it up and go earlier, as their goal is the spfl.

Anyways, some of the retorts today have been keeping me up, the blog needed lightened up.

    Good banter.

  27. I think its grossly unfair to expect posters/lurkers to come on to this site to read opinions on football only to be assaulted with politics. I would like to raise a motion that, when posting, the poster must state the subject he will be posting on. This will allow those of us who aren’t interested to scroll on by without reading half the drivel before finding what it’s all about.

I’ll start the ball rolling…..Today I will be writing reviews on some very special books…starting with this….

Won’t indulge in the petty name calling on here – like the vast majority I have grown out of school playground behaviour.

Notice that after a sensational performance by the EPL’s teams in CL, they bemoan the Laws of the Game and want them changed ‘cos it’s no’ fair !

This despite the ludicrous situation that said Laws are agreed by the 8 votes of the IFAB, of which England , Scotland, Wales and Ireland get 1 vote each – and the rest of the world gets 4 votes !! Now that’s no’ fair !!

And the sour grapes about the Swedish referee not being up for it as he’s from Sweden shows they do not understand what it takes to get to referee a CL game at that level.

Eriksson, who is 39, has been an international referee since 2002 and has officiated in a total of 75 UEFA fixtures in his career. He also refereed the European Super Cup last season. He is a multi-millionaire so doesn’t exactly need the money.

Well top EPL ref Howard Webb hasn’t exactly set the heather on fire this season with a number of big wrong calls (he would probably have denied Barca and Bayern penalties on his form!).

Spot the ex ref eh! There are a few decent ones out there.

  29. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy

Not agreeing with a poster is no excuse for a collective ganging up and bullying session

  30. Hebcelt @ 09.32 hrs.

While I agree sometimes politics can be extremely tedious on this blog it is not entirely unexpected on the run up to September.

We are in uncharted waters and everything is surrounded with uncertainty. make no mistake, this will affect all in the UK and beyond for ever.

From a football perspective this will definitely impact. Players freedom of movement, transfer dealings, fees, window, advertising, broadcasting etc.

I want Celtic to compete regularly with the best in these islands and I do not think there can be any clarification on our status until the referendum is finalised one way or the other. IMO if the EPL is just another league in a foreign country then my dream will be crushed of us ever playing in a league more befitting of our status and fulfilling our undoubted potential.

What is more concerning IMO is the infantile personal abuse some are resorting to e.g. Professional and presumably intelligent people name-calling with words like fa@@y.

I have never hidden my opposition to Billy Bhoy 05’s views on many things but to the best of my knowledge he has never personally abused any fellow poster in such a demeaning manner.

    HH, always in Celtic.

You been in malone’s to watch a CL away match yet? Totally packed with Hoops fans and they put the tunes on. Went off Malone’s for a while but they appear to have cleaned their act up. I will be in there 15th march for my birthday. My wife hates it! She will just have to suffer it for my birthday.

  32. corkcelt – it makes the blog look bad, very bad, who would want to come on here and express an opinion knowing that if you upset a certain poster or posters they will all gang up against you? Not many.
