Celtic have an oddity to put right

780

It is early enough in the season that Celtic have ample scope to recover from the odd reversal but with October just around the corner Neil Lennon and his players will be wondering why they have not won two consecutive league games this season.  This particular oddity can be put right tomorrow if Celtic win and leapfrog Motherwell, who sit precariously at the top of the SPL, albeit having played a game more.

There is also probably some fine-tuning required on formation.  We kept a clean sheet in both Champions League qualifying away games but have not achieved one in three away SPL games against weaker opposition than Helsingborgs or HJK Helsinki.

Motherwell exited the League Cup on Wednesday but don’t expect this to sap momentum; Celtic on Saturday is their cup final.  We can expect a direct and physical challenge on what is likely to be a heavy pitch.

An early goal from the champions would settle the nerves.  If they get this, don’t be surprised if they go on to win comfortably.  Despite indifferent form this season the signs are there that Celtic are getting their game together.  Prediction: 0-4.

  1. Can’t be faffed with a team selection for tomorrow, but Paddy, if fit, should play – played exceptionally well on the three occasions he’s appeared at Fir Park, and gave us the breakthrough we needed last time out.

  2. Charles “Endell” Greens latest on share issue

Rangers chief executive Charles Green claims there are potential investors willing to buy more than £1million worth of shares in the club.

Green this week gave more details of the club’s impending share issue to fans in Northern Ireland with information to be sent to supporters next month.

Green told the club’s official website: “It’s still early days and a lot of the technical and financial information is not yet available but we were explaining to them the process and explained who would be invited to join.”

He added: “That group is existing season ticket holders, former shareholders, former bond holders, employees and members of the fans’ groups.

“They are the only people – other than institutional investors – who will be allowed to buy shares and that’s the reward we are giving fans for their continued loyalty, investment and support over the years.

“One correction I would like to make is that shares are not going to be £500 each, the minimum anyone can invest is £500.

“There will be people who will want to invest small amounts but there were people we were talking to who want to invest seven-figure amounts.”

Believe nothing you read or hear in the press, including the BBC.

If you believe it, then you are the person they want to sell to.

    http://www.greatsong.net/PAROLES-PUBLIC-ENEMY,A-LETTER-TO-THE-NEW-YORK-POST,107484.html

Sound not working for me, but the message is clear enough. The press will tell you you’re great, as long you being great sells copies; what happens when they decide you’re not so great after all? Fkem. The more of us that don’t buy, the more of us that don’t care. The more of us that don’t care, the less of us that buy.

And soon enough, the Record/Mail caters to its market, and late enough realises that its market is reduced to slavish huns and slavish Record/Mail readers, both of whom are limited markets and so theuy enter the spiral of slow deterioration into uselessness…

So what, traynors ootae job? No harm done?

Maybe, maybe not – Traynor’s pathetic existence is already reduced to court jester – but far more importantly, suddenly Scotland’s lost a media outlet in the run-up to an independence referendum.

Murdochauld&hay – you’re toying with the younger generation now – i.e. anyone under 50. Charles Endell = Ian Cuthbertson v Budgie (Adam Faith)

  14. Green also says setting up friendly with linfield and only problem would be getting 5000 linfield fans on ferry. Curious about linfields avg att, and tried to look it up. Lo and behold irish league doesnt give out attendance figures, something to do with the taxman. Think their made for each other.
