Celtic have an oddity to put right

780

It is early enough in the season that Celtic have ample scope to recover from the odd reversal but with October just around the corner Neil Lennon and his players will be wondering why they have not won two consecutive league games this season.  This particular oddity can be put right tomorrow if Celtic win and leapfrog Motherwell, who sit precariously at the top of the SPL, albeit having played a game more.

There is also probably some fine-tuning required on formation.  We kept a clean sheet in both Champions League qualifying away games but have not achieved one in three away SPL games against weaker opposition than Helsingborgs or HJK Helsinki.

Motherwell exited the League Cup on Wednesday but don’t expect this to sap momentum; Celtic on Saturday is their cup final.  We can expect a direct and physical challenge on what is likely to be a heavy pitch.

An early goal from the champions would settle the nerves.  If they get this, don’t be surprised if they go on to win comfortably.  Despite indifferent form this season the signs are there that Celtic are getting their game together.  Prediction: 0-4.

Given that he 31 st of Aug 2013 falls on a Saturday I have a suspicion that the last day for registering new players may be put back until the 2 nd September ( Monday , first working day) ….thereby allowing them to rush signings in

Wouldn’t be like the SFA to accommodate them would it ??

  3. There should be restructuring in Scottish football but not for the reasons they are doing it.

A bigger SPL is a good thing but it is another attempt to help the Sevcovians.

I agree , but less than two years ago , prior to Sevco

It was stated to be a financial disaster

Too many lurking nasties here mate -in your interest to ask Paul67 to remove that post

also maybe amend your meeting plans/attire?

Exactly but that again was vested interests for entirely different reasons.

Most fans want a bigger league and the fans are the people who matter and they showed their strength this year.

The hierarchy are only interested in helping Sevco and yet their mentally impaired supporters think otherwise.

  7. PFAyr,

Integrity? This resides in the boardrooms of a few select clubs, but has not been spotted at the upper echelons of the Scottish game for a long time…

no idea…didnae make any difference …both trumpets in their own way

Brines is incompetent whereas Collum is an ref committee sycophant …

  10. I’m all for league reconstruction – a European League that is, with a place in it for CFC whose supporters will be welcomed with open arms all over the continent!

    The sooner the better imo!

  11. Much more significant is the reports of Green’s meetings with RFC’s lunatic fringe in Belfast, detailed on TSFM in the last 24 hours.

Apart from slagging off the SFA (again), dissing the SPL (again), and addressing the burning issue of when they are going to release an orange strip, Green gave details of his forthcoming “share issue”.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this will be an offering with a difference. Resisting the temptation to offer a detailed prospectus of income, outgoing, future plans etc etc, Green instead is looking to conduct, in effect, a “private sale”.

Offers of shares will be restricted to Sevco shareholders and registered travel club members. These will almost certainly be non-voting shares. The chances of significant investment from moneyed outsiders is therefore nil.

But Green gets some cash back for his investors, and these dummy shareholders will be left high and dry when Green sells all the property and gets outta dodge.

They would be as well just handing him a donation. However, he’s dressing it up as “only the Rangers Family” getting shares. None of those pesky outsiders will own our great club! And no awkward questions asked.

They are so stupid they deserve absolutely everything that is coming at them.

  12. PFayr-I agree mate, apart from being a cheat I think he is incompetent too.Remember his stance defending “his” corner after Sally’s whisper ?

  13. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

Been busy over the past few days, just catching up….

Can’t believe sally is actually complaining about the BBC ……. Zombie TV / Radio, and sally’s cheerleaders……….silly fat bun (pardon the pun)

There is no way I will ever attend another football match if they restructure for next season…… That would take corruption in football to a new level in this country ……. I smelt a rat (in more ways than one) when sally kept insisting they were quite happy to work their way through the current divisions………this must not be allowed to happen…….decent fans across the Country will ‘walk away’, and Scottish Football would be well and truly finished….how could the sport of football survive in that ‘atmosphere’…….what would be the point of going to a game in such a ‘stitch-up’ scenario …….it’s a non-starter

  14. So Collum is ill?!

Must still be hun(g)over after Wednesday night!

An able replacement in Brines ‘tho!

    Hunbelievable!

  18. From Terry Goodkind`s : “Wizard’s First Rule:

“.. people are stupid.” Richard and Kahlan frowned even more. “People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it’s true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

“Because of Wizards First Rule, the old wizards created Confessors, and Seekers, as a means of helping find the truth, when the truth is important enough. Darken Rahl knows the Wizard’s Rules. He is using the first one. People need an enemy to feel a sense of purpose. It’s easy to lead people when they have a sense of purpose. Sense of purpose is more important by far than the truth. In fact, truth has no bearing in this. Darken Rahl is providing them with an enemy, other than himself, a sense of purpose. People are stupid; they want to believe, so they do.”

A note of warning: Other human beings are not immune to this trait. JJ

  19. No chance of an upset at Forres today then – the players are, mostly, zombie lovers!

So this team of gamekeepers, poachers(?), fishermen and eh, mechanics wont be trying a leg – “After you Claude…, eh can a’ git yer jersey efter the gemme, ken?!”

    HH!!

  20. Gollum,Brines or Norris etc We know what we have to do, beat 12 men
