Celtic need to learn resuscitation methods

980

Celtic have lost in the game immediately after three of their previous four European games, shipping nine points which could be crucial in determining the destination of the championship, so it was not surprising they were below par for much of the game yesterday.  Fortunately, the Aberdeen goal came early enough to allow Celtic time to raise their game and respond.

How Celtic respond after European games will become even more crucial in the weeks ahead as they have visits to Motherwell, Dundee United and St Johnstone due after our next three Europa League games.  Any slim championship aspirations will be extinguished in these games if Celtic are unable to improve performance for the league challenge.

Ally McCoist is defying early predictions and grinding out impressive results for Rangers, who will seldom have started the league with such an impressive defensive record.  Six away wins from six games without conceding a goal is the kind of form it takes to win leagues.

Our more immediate challengers, Motherwell, dropped two points on Saturday, meaning we can go two points clear of them if we win our game in hand, however, the teams meet at Fir Park a week on Sunday (three days after Celtic play Rennes), in what looks like being a key game in our season.

even if they lost a lot of their best players, do you have confidence in our mob to win most of our games? We’ve played 11 games in the SPL so far and only won 7!

Good Morning to the Celtic Family from a sunny Central Scotland. This talk of Rangers being bankrupt has been going on so long its becoming boreing.I have maintained all along it wont be allowed to happen the SFA and the Government will step in and althought there is much glee on CQN we must also remember there are other clubs in the SPLwho rely on the gates from both Celtic and Rangers to keep them in business and without the gates from Rangers would quickly find them selves going under.I would also ask the question how boreing would the SPL become if we didnt have our bitter rivals to play?. also if we think the Board are tight at the moment the down sizing would become even greater.I may be the only Celtic supporter who looks forward to our games against them the excitement the big crowds and the uncertainty of the result makes it imo the best games of the season and without them it the SPL would become even more boreing. Now that does not mean I think Rangers should not be punished for there cheating because I certainly do but allow them to continue in the SPL ban them for 5 years from buying any players sell there better players to payoff as much of there debt as possible and make them field there youth players in the first team. This would allow Celtic v Ragers matches to continue and it would have the least affect on the finances of the other SPL clubs. I am now putting on my crash helmet and retireing to my bunker.H.H.

The money advanced to Gretna kept them going for a few weeks, and was much less than Rangers would need to continue for one week. There is no way the SPL/SFA could afford to subsidise Rangers following insolvency.

I see your and others points and I like to see the huns suffer but it seems very much like accounts over football much like how our board think, for us to laugh at their accounts while theres nothing funny about the football is a bit two faced.

That and we’ve been reading for years that ‘administration is just round the corner’ when or if it comes I’ll enjoy it, just not excited about the prospect of it possibly happening.

They’d have to give the minimum amount out (ie last placed money) as there is no guarantee they would finish in any position for definate.

Unfortunately for them they could still potentially finish last, so any advance of prize or tv money would only be for that position ie not enough to make a significant difference.

…They could lose ten points and still win the league, the ultimate humiliation, still you got to laugh at the accounts of the team top of the league…

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Don’t think many people understand the gravity of the situation at Der Hun if the above statement, by EN, is anything to go by. And for a number of reasons…

1.The significance of the 28th of October.

This date is particularly special due to it not only being WAGES DAY for TFOD but also the day that HMRC’s 2.3million cash freeze expires and becomes due.

Do you not think that HMRC were clever with the timing of the arrestment and 14 week time limit?? They knew money would need to be deposited on the 28th to cover wages and other monthly liabilities. They are 1st in the queue now if any money is deposited into the bank.

Ard Macha made a point that the game against Liverpool would have raised enough cash to pay wages for this month; I don’t reckon so as they need around 2million to satisfy ALL wages each month, lets not forget they will now be paying Tax and ENICs too; with 20k at the gate they will have struggled to make this sum.

    2.The Administration Event

Of course after Admin they will automatically be deducted 10 points and at this time would draw level with us with Murderwell going top.

No guarantee we (or motherwell) would win all our remaining fixtures but do you think they will either? Lets not be deluded into thinking that they would be able to hold onto their players. They have to go to satisfy the responsibilities of the Administrator to the creditors. There will also be a TRANSFER EMBARGO! i.e. No players in! THEY WILL BE PLAYING WITH THEIR YOUTH SQUAD!

I have no doubts that Rankers FC will come out of an administration event but as strong or stronger than before??? No chance!

They’ll be lucky to finish top 6.

BTW would anyone agree with the board putting in a cheeky bid for Jellylegs or would be be seen as helping THEM???

Try and think of it another way, without cheating, spending money they didn’t have, fatally wounding themselves in the process, we would have won the league the last three years, and be nearly 40 million pounds richer.

Our football team would be 40 million pound richer than the team on the pitch today. Nothing funny on the football field is a direct consequence of the cheating and fatal risk taking that they have been partaking in. There is nothing two faced about the schadenfreude displayed when the chickens come home to roost

Hopefully the next few days events over Govan way brings about the dreams and hopes of not only our parents but grandparents – were playing football the Glasgow Celtic way prevails. Playing football the Glasgow Celtic way not only meant skilful attacking football but fairness and of course without prejudice. Where is our ex – derby neighbours contrition? There will of course be retribution – Murray and Whyte will need to spend the rest of their lives in self imposed exile!! The biggest sinners however were the old media – can Media House and the (Holy)Trinity Group survive this. Jack and Bruce have a lot of explaining to do. i just cant get enough

Ask my accountant, I can’t spell nor understand accounts, I’m not having a good chuckle at their poverty, I’m having an absolute ball in how they walked and pranced in pomp to the poor house, always believing they were above and better than common law and common decency. I don’t give flying monkeys about their financial plight; my enjoyment is all in their dignified mortification.

They may yet get what is their due and we too might get what is our due.

No I dont. If it were just 10 points penalty and Motherwell were leading the league for a few days, I still think think we have problems that need to be solved before we would be able to make a challenge for the league.
