He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous. Also I didn’t read on here or anywhere else prior to this game that the fans had to be cautious because we were about to be ambushed. All I saw was an insatiable demand for tickets and be part of a big party, no mention of imminent trouble.
What I do recognise is Tayside Police’s stupidity in allowing 2 games in the one street in the same day knowing that the Celtic buses would be up early and their resources would be stretched.
They should have requested a fixture swap.

I find all of this latest violence and dens park and capitulating to the SFA very very interesting.
On the one hand its a good thing that Celtic are seen to react to unfolding events and bad incidents and seek to deal with it. On the other 5 arrests (4 Celtic supporters I believe) hardly constitutes a crisis and certainly doesnt warrant headlines. Its clear there was poor behaviour at Dens and that should be criticised.

John O Neil, just a small point that has very little relevance apart from fact that I am curious about surnames and variations of surnames even within the same families. I’m drawn to you because you said you were posting under your real name. The O’Neill name is very Irish but it is spelt with 2 Ls. i.e. O’Neill, also there is always an apostrophe between the O and the main name. I’m curious as to when did your family lose an L and your apostrophe.

I can only go by the folk I know I know. Huns wise; two of them watch the juniors and one doesn’t bother at all, but they openly admit the club they supported no longer exists.
As for the Zombies – none of them ever talk about football in my company. That tells a story in itself. I never mention anything to them either, which I think annoys them to be honest.

I will take up no more space after this post. I can understand some people just do not take to elements of our support being talked about in a negative manner. There used to be a letter writer to Not the view called Padraig O’Murnane. He was critical of some of the songs being sung by our support. I used to disagree with him so much as I am mostly irrational myself when it comes to saying something negative about Celtic. I don’t like it and don’t do it to the media or non Celtic supporters.
I have not written much on here before. One comment which I made about David Hay remains a source of regret to me. Other than that I feel I have conducted myself in a decent manner.
I won’t write anymore tonight. My name has featured far too much today. Others will decide about the nature of some of the abuse directed towards me. Thanks for writing.
I am looking forward to hearing more about football soon. However one should not deny bad behaviour. Goodnight.
