Celtic should accept Wilson ban offer

1201

Celtic should accept the offer of a two match ban for Kelvin Wilson following an incident at Dens Park on Boxing Day.  He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous.  These are the rules and they are there for good reason.

Of course there are a few daft guys who follow Celtic who misbehave with drink but they are a minuscule minority. I’ve had to change seats in Celtic Park because I couldn’t stand the drunken swearing of a guy sitting in front of me.

    ===========================================

Just do what I did ,don’t move, get even more drunk and sweary ,worked a treat.

    Where were you sitting btw?

Your Karl Gruen reference clearly makes your case as his intellectual superior.

A bit worried about the teutonic precision remark or does that just relate to your efficiency in destroying hun apologists?

I noticed through today here the growing campaign to have a national recognition of the birthday of the latest team to join the Scotish Football League.

Whilst I wholeheartedly would support that campaign, I also request that the rest of the already established Scottish football fraternity join in recognising nationaly every single milestone along the route of our latest member.

Please join me in the campaign.

Karl Gruen is German for Charles Green. My son is German. I dont intend sting anytime soon big man so its not a concern. The wee fella is being drawn more and more to Eintracht but was cheeky enough to inquire about Turin. He wont accept that its too dangerous for him and not me. 6ft 1 and filling out. Kids huh ?

  8. North Stand. Twas way at the back 3 rows from the absolute top. Section 451 sits in my memory but can’t be certain of that. Twas diagonally opposite the Huns and about 25 yards up from the endline.

  9. LennonMcM, I thought I was making it clear that any player had a right to expressions of faith, I wasn’t adding a caveat I was trying to emphasise my point by saying it doesn’t matter whether you agree with the faith or not (which covers 100% of the adult population) btw I would disagree that if you aren’t a member of a faith then you have no business agreeing or disagreeing. I doubt if we have many scientologists on here and I doubt if you would find many bloggers who didn’t disagree with their faith.

Regarding Sevco’s visit to Annan on the 2nd Jan the local paper is in full mode stating ‘The inaugural Galabank match between the two third division teams passed without incident, with only one arrest and a small number of other offences such as sectarian singing and letting off smoke flares’ so there you have it the Chairman of Annan thinks sectarian singing is a small offence

Lol at my slow witted monolingualism.

I have never been as frightened as a Celtic supporter since I went to see Juve v Celtic albeit 30 years ago.Turin was a lawless, dangerous place for opposition football fans back then although there was safety in numbers. Dont know if things have imporved in the intervening years.

Having 3 daughters, unfortunately, football discussions are infrequent and unilluminating in my household.

On my usual rummel through the redtops at Morrisons..why buy?…the sun does the dirty on the back page, the herald does it on the front. Which former so-called sports journalist who is currently ‘working in kind’ for a former company in the vain hope that Hector will accept any old kack as an explanation for previous untaxed ‘benefits’, is feeding his former employers biggest rivals?

From a fellow “German”, good to read your stuff tonight: Am glad that your”wee man” is an Eintracht fan. My son is a Daimler man in Stuttgart and apart from being a True Celt, is a VFB fan. Daughter finishing (I hope) doctorate at Edinburgh. To top it off, I’ll retire on the 1st of January.

  21. g64,case rested. Went to see Kevin Bridges live at the secc this year the night we played Benfica ( tickets were bought before I knew the Celtic date honest guv ) had the game set to record on sky +, what a funny guy. The sevconians in the audience didn’t take to kindly to the man slagging them off, KB cool as you like sidestepped the uncomfartable booing and made fun of scottish football in general, no quite as good as the Big Yin in his prime but getting there.

btw still looking for tickets for tomorrow if embdy’s got spares.

  23. Aw Naw,

yes, can appreciate that. Was at one of the warm up games at the Kickers, where we played like donkeys. The thing that amazed me though, was that the relatively large Celtic support was German. Great stuff – normal bad warm up result.

    BTW, taking early, remunatative “retirement”.

    Thanks for the good wishes.

  24. Corkcelt ,

think it goes up to 444 in the upper stand . Myself and mini were there for a few years (EE – furthest you could get from

the action and the hunnies and still claim to be at the game)

Paul67 , have to take issue with your article. To be or not to be ?

    Kelvin to appeal ?

Assumption : either way he is eligible for Hibbees on saturday.

    He appeals

    1. He wins – no foul , no loss

    2. He loses – he misses mothers and jam tarts at home and st mirren away

    He doesn’t appeal,

    1. he misses mothers and jam tarts at home

there is an underlying issue where cfc make it clear that we won’t be brow-beaten.

To me , it’s simple. APPEAL.

Danny bhoy, without doubt is the worse show I have ever been to.I was given tickets to a show in Edinburgh,2/3years ago ,the Festival Theatre I think,my wife and I walked out ,about 3/4quarters in,only because my wife said she would be embarrassed if we walked out earlier, he was garbage.

If PL doesn’t grow a pair, and soon,Celtic Park will soon become a ghost stadium,I said last season, they will be sitting in their leather seats, looking at an empty stadium. It gives me no pleasure to say,or think, that.Let The People Sing.

  26. Jeezo, how sad, I spent the past few hours betting on the darts, bet on each leg on the checkout colour, as near as dammit 1/2 for red, and 7/4 for green, I ended up E4.75 better off, and no it wasn’t worth it….Oh dear.
