Celtic, the Bank of England of investment opportunities

595

Celtic are an astonishing 1/200 to win the Premiership this season; 11 games into a 38 game competition. 1/200 isn’t betting odds, it’s a borrowing strategy. The bookies are borrowing money at 0.5% for six months, an annual rate of 1%. Try borrowing at better rates than that.

Investors get a 1% tax free savings rate, which is also competitive, although they don’t get access to their money for six months without significant penalty. If borrowing rates were higher, returns offered on Celtic would improve to attract more investors. The Scottish Premiership has jumped from being a sporting event to being an investment opportunity less volatile than gold or property.

The 10 point gap between Celtic and second placed Aberdeen is the same 10 points as between Aberdeen and bottom club Ross County. We are metaphorically in a different league than even our closest challengers.

Question is, how did Celtic become the Bank of England of football? It’s not just because they are financially responsible with appropriate oversights, this helps. More importantly, they have used their financial strength to fortify the competitive product on the park. Others have been in similar situations in previous decades without the oversight, which led to enormously entertaining failure.

It might look like Brendan Rodgers has achieved alchemy over a sleeping dinosaur, but he’s only part of the story, albeit an important part. Much of the groundwork was in place when he arrived. Nine of those who started the League Cup semi-final were at the club last season, they were just not nearly as effective.

Brendan’s building on rock solid foundations. That’s what you need to build generations of domination.

Yep, if the turkeys hadn’t voted fro Christmas in the Primaries Bernie Sanders would be President Elect. Clinton is too corrupt to be electable and the FBI “whitewash” wasn’t enough to convince the American people she was electable.

I do find it strange though that whenever a result goes against the “expected” outcome that people are labelled as stupid for voting the wrong way! It definitely was an election to select the lesser of 2 evils. A very tough choice!

It was a tragedy for the Republicans that they couldn’t find a candidate credible enough to beat Donald Trump in the Primaries. It’s a tragedy for the Democrats that they couldn’t stand up a candidate to beat him in the election for President.

However, the biggest tragedy was that the American people only had these 2 to choose from!

Been saying something similar for a while now.

I have the feeling that Trump will be pushed to the side in six or so months and Pence will take over, could be wrong but I think the Republicans could see that they needed someone like Trump to beat HRC, she had the whole of the media on her side, including the western media, hence all the anti Trump stuff.

Trumps biggest problem is going to be fighting the bankers and the globalists, if he can I will be delighted, but I doubt he can, they control everything, including our minds, and the shock for me was the american people didn’t vote the way they wanted them to.

He says he wants to give them their pride back and that means jobs, a harder thing he couldn’t have tasked to do.

An economic war with China will be his problem imo.

He is sort of going against the conservative grain when it comes to jobs, if he is to be believed that is, we will see.

What he says he wants to do ie, stopping the TTIP, TIP deals etc can only be a good thing for the US and Europe. so hopefully he can, he is against the NWO and for me that is huge, but only if he can deliver, he will at least try, HRC would only have made it worse imo.

Maybes if people got their info from places like Info Wars and not the msm they wouldn’t be so easily swayed.

I doubt you will see Fraser Wishert anywhere near this car crash, Barton has a stone wall case, and my advice to Barton would be to steer well away from Wishert, he’s the enemy within, they made an arse of it here, and I don’t see Barton cutting any deal either, or keeping his big mouth shut.

  23. Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan on

    Good Morning Folks.

Well, now we have the Donald and the professional political classes only have themselves to blame although it will not be them who pay the largest price.

Professional politicians don’t listen, they are self interested, they do not “represent” the electorate and they concentrate on how to get themselves into positions of power and influence.

So it is no surprise that the wee man in the street eventually gets fed up and can be persuaded to vote for someone or something fuelled by extremist language and which thrives on division and fear.

Having said that, Trump is a scary prospect for the Republicans. He wasn’t backed by them, was openly derided by some but has to work with them in the senate and the house. That will not be a comfy ride.

No elected politician in any country is safe in their seat and none should rest on their laurels or ignore the man or woman in the street.

Who knows where it will leave us?

All I know is that on Saturday night I will be sleeping out in the cold, snow/rain or whatever in an attempt to raise a few quid for those who are isolated, downtrodden, homeless and forgotten by Government of any any hue. They couldn’t care less who won in America.

I shouldn’t have to do the sleepout to raise money but feel I have no choice.

The Celtic Charity Foundation seeks to help a whole load of needy people with its winter campaign and this is me doing my wee bit.

When it is over I will go home to a nice warm bed, a kitchen with food in the cupboards and can take a nice warm shower.

    Others aren’t so lucky.

If you can spare a few quid (and loads of you have already donated) please help by supporting myself of HT or Minx or anyone else who is participating.

    Thanks.
