Care to post the line-up/formation that you would start with against those pesky Finns?

What concerns me most about starting with Stokes and Hooper,is that they both lack pace.

Whats the opposite of opposite, is it the same?

Lenny did,and we destroyed the huns that fine January day in their own hovel.

Samaras led the line superbly and scored both goals.

  4. I was at the game and I didn’t see any banner.

I thought that Victor and Commons were head and shoulders above anything eles in the Celtic side today. Victor has to be played in midfield for maximum effect. As soon as Lenny pushed him forward he started to provide a solid platform to build on, he also had a couple of wee runs at their defense himself. he put in some good meaty challenges too.

I was disappointed in Izzy, I hope the support give him some time to try and find his confidence again. he was taking a few pelters but on the whole I thought his performance showed signs of improvement.

Its a bit worrying that we don’t seem to have a fired-up striker at this stage in the season with so many crucial games coming up. Hopefully Hooper will up his game a bit but I agree that he seemed that his heart wasn’t quite in it today but I suppose towards the end of the game he was doing a lot of running.

Rogne had a good, solid game I thought – he aint the fastest but he’s big and strong and seems to be keeping his concentration better.

I really hope that Neil doesnt play Victor in defense against Helsinki..

So, to summarise, according to his uni friends, Dougie Donnelly was a tim or a hun. Glad we sorted that one out!

Dougie Donnelly is a human Chameleon or is that Whytey ( with his stereoscopic eyes- that’s why he evades hun detection 360 degree oracular vision)…or maybe he is one of those weird slippery slimy squids you get caught up in fishing nets…changing colour to suit whatever environment they are in…a squid wae a dyed nicotine stained toupee and a saffron skin hue…at any one time he is a Clyde, Celtic and Rangers fan but he is simultaneously none of them…very strange.

A coupla years back,my ould maw decided she wanted to see The Boss at Hampden.

She had never expressed an interest in rock music before, btw.

My Dad refused to accompany her,as did her pals. And my two sisters.

So I got dragged 400 miles to watch a guy whose albums I gave up on in 81,in the company of a near setuagenarian.

It was a FANTASTIC day. (ok,different band)

And not a bottle of Peroni in sight…

That was 4-4-1-1, with McCourt behind Sammi. It was not a flat 4-5-1. FWIW, we started 4-4-1-1 against Helsinki last Wed.

I don’t fancy 4-4-2 either, but Lenny is more likely to go with that than 4-5-1. Will probably be 4-4-1-1.

Dick taught me to drive round about 1961 and I worked with him for the next 40 odd years. He is still alive and kicking – I got the usual Card from him last Christmas. Commonwealth Games boxing referee and brother of the great journalist, John Rafferty. When I was a callow youth John got me into Hampden for a Celtic v Rangers match as his “phone boy” in the old press box above the main stand. My memory of that day is Willie Woodburn, who was by then a hack, complaining bitterly (and you know how they can do bitter) that Christmas had come early for Celtic.

No matter what way you look at it,we had four at the back and five in midfield that day, with Samaras as the lone striker.

Anyway,i will agree with you,so going by what you have stated,my selection isn’t a 4-5-1 because Commons is being played in advance of the midfield.
