  1. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    WONKYRADAR 1913

I remember moving to Egland for the first time around then;we were as far ahead as you say.

When I came back for a week in May,we had lost the league by about the same amount.

    Blinkin’ shambolic.

  2. Bobby Murdoch:

    Your jist showing aff noo!

That makes sense then…so Davie Hay didnae sign McClair…sorry Davie! Still don’t think he should have got the bullet…but then maybe it was fate or destiny or kismat or whatever…would we have won the double without Caesar? Maybe he was the only one for the job…and how appropriate…a living legend.

    RE The Aberdeen supporters banner.

    ===============

Don’t think for a minute that they hate us any less than Rankers. All the other teams’ fans think the job is only half completed.

  5. Vp mentioned bar67 to wife as we passed but she declined. Far too sophisticated ( the bar not my wife :)))

  6. TBM @ 19.09

“but hey c’mon, don’t you think that we are (at times) so afraid to say what we really think for fear of being perceived as antagonistic bigots. Hence the silence is golden mantra………….”

Actually, No I don’t. This site and all other fan sites have been more influential than anything done by Aberdeen fans in keeping the “fakeover” firmly in the spotlight. We have not been silent for fear of being bigoted; we have been voluble and persistent when the Sheep fans were willing to see this as an Old Firm problem.

Your original post tried to pin the shame on our club representatives because neither the Board nor the management team have been free with their comment on Sevco’s issues. But neither were the Aberdeen Board and management nor the United Board or the St. Johnstone or Motherwell reps.

All of these insiders can afford to leave this to the fans as we were winning the battle for them. There will be a time for comment from our custodians and that is when the charges have been proved and decisions on sanctions have to be taken. Neither HMRC nor the Police nor the SFA investigation body on EBTs/duplicate contracts have done their work yet. so PL and NFL are right to be circumspect.

We, however, have a duty to be outspoken and wee have been. I am for taking no nonsense from the Sheep fans.

  7. Are the SFL the new SFA?

First they say the Orcs league cups during the EBT era are safe then they turn a blind eye to the sectarian rally at Brechin last week.

No wonder FPLG waxes lyrical over brother Longmuir’s fabled character.

  8. up_over_goal

if he is to go hopefully hell play well and drive his value up a bit

  9. Dougie the Clyde fan? Ho Ho Ho

I remember a radio broadcast many moons ago, where a woman called into

the show to speak with him, and stated she knew someone who attended the

same School as him, Saint something; his reply, in a smug tone was-

“I can assure you ma’am, I never went to any School with Saint in the name”

Just because he’s been telling folk he’s a Clyde fan for a number of years,

    doesn’t make it so.

I know plenty of “thistle” fans, that have never been to Firhill :-)

Whatever he is; he is no friend of ours.

include inaccuracies; we’re going to highlight them :-)

    My sentiments exactly.

Indeed Aberdeen fans have a ‘hatred’ if you like for Celtic. I have been in my youth at many Aberdeen v. Dundee Utd games, and believe me, they have a ‘hatred’ of them as well. Oh, and as regards the jam tarts, well ‘hatred’ might not do it justice.

My point being that, the ‘hatred’ is of a football origin and also the reason I use hatred inside ‘…..’.

It is not really hatred, not compared to the racist bigotry that will be in full pelt tomorrow.

  14. The Comfortable Collective on

Pine Barrens on 4 August, 2012 at 20:00

Indeed. And the best way to do that, in my opinion, is in a GIRFUY banner the next time Celtic play Aberdeen.

It fits into what I was saying earlier about winding up the opposition fans. We should all be doing it, all fans, of all SPL clubs, to all other SPL fans.

Let’s do this, whilst the bigots wither away.

  15. The Comfortable Collective re. the Aberdeen fans ‘winding up ‘ our fans.

Largely agree that that is part of the fun at the fitba’ and I think that generally they have a good attitude towards us. My mate and I were walking down Springfield Rd through/with hundreds of them after the game and the atmosphere was excellent, lots of banter between different groups. I remarked to my mate that such a situation could NEVER happen between their fans and the ‘supporters’ of The Scroungers. Even the polis in Springfield Rd looked as if they knew they were on to easy money this afternoon.

On another topic, the growing suspicion that Servco are starting to hurt financially. Does anyone KNOW what happened to the sponsorship deals The Scroungers had with for example Tennents and JJB Sports? I thought that they would have died with The Scroungers, but a CA I was talking to said they could have just transferred over, if only to avoid bad publicity. Anyone actually know?

  16. A good enough start to the season today

    but we must do better.

The first half was dire to watch.

  17. So, to summarise, according to his uni friends, Dougie Donnelly was a tim or a hun. Glad we sorted that one out!

  18. Relieved to get the win today in a dour struggle. Kris Commons was the only real goal threat and he’s looking more and more like the player who performed so well in his first season.

Had a close look at the forwards today, their movement was poor and this often led to midfielders getting caught on the ball as they waited on some movement around them.

Wanyama is a must in the midfield for me, he adds some much in that department and is a real class act.

  19. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

Dougie Donald was given many times in his life a free microphone to spout his views on BBC Scotland to the natiob. A retarded martian born two year a go would know exactly what Dougie Donnelys mind set is.

  20. Head the ball

I was certainly not Dougie Donnelly’s friend. He was the Entertainments Officer at Strathclyde Uni and I had some minor dealings with him. I never heard him say anything positive about Celtic. He presented himself as a Clyde fan but I suspected Rangers leanings and he has subsequently been seen a lot more at Ibrox than he ever has at CP.

My opinion is far from definitive but I have him down as a clyde fan with rangers leanings.

  21. Sixteen roads to Golgotha on

Wonder what the team selection/formation will be for Wednesday?

Noticed that James Forrest didn’t even make the bench, was he injured or suspended?

Also cannot understand why Lustig didn’t play today.

Scott Brown is very doubtful for the next game, but Charlie Mulgrew should return to the side.

  25. Great day yesterday, thanks to Taggsybhoy, blantyreKev &johnnybhoy. Great meeting so many CQNers at my first CQN Charity Golf Day.

Thanks to CRC today for keeping my first edition and special design CQN badges safe ;-)

On the game today, we struggled to get going. Very few chances created, happy with 3 points – we’ll need better performance during the week.
