You and I have been sharing our understanding of just how important these Astana games are.
At half time we have good reason for optimism.

I left immediately after the game tonight as I had a call telling me a good friend had a life threatening heart attack this afternoon.
Thanks to the skill of the medical staff and a couple,of procedures he is recovering.
He is a big Celtic man and was ecstatic when I showed him the goals.
Please offer a prayer or think positive thoughts for a full recovery.

Don’t post here much but read every day. Fantastic stuff at Celtic Park last night and way beyond what anyone could truly have expected. Brendan Rodgers is everything we could dream about for a manager and more. Happy, happy days!
Listen to sports roundup on bbc Scotland at 8am on my way home from nights. Presenter sounded like frazier from dad’s army reading an obituary while delivering a to line match report on last night’s game lol
I believe that the Astana coach is very happy with last night’s result. Seemingly, he has been talking to one of the top managers in Scotland who told him that if you lose you still win.

Morning Celts.
After a magical Celtic victory in the CL, the Huns will be sick.
“I believe that the Astana coach is very happy with last night’s result. Seemingly, he has been talking to one of the top managers in Scotland who told him that if you lose you still win.”
Pedro told him that, since two goals were scored by Astana players and only 3 by Celts, he will have a right good chance of an away goals victory next Tuesday in Astana.

What a great European performance and qualifying campaign, everyone is learning.
Next up for Brendan is getting griff and moussa in the same team. I’d make an example of Armstrong as well, if youre not sure about Staying, playing and improving under the best manager you’ll play for then move and let us bring in someone who’ll end up better than you.

The top quiff in Scotland, Stuart Armstrong. Will be signing a new deal:)
Good to see Matthew Lindsay of The Herald being so upbeat and positive about last night’s performance:
CELTIC came perilously close to squandering a three goal lead in the Champions League play-off last year before taking their place in the group stages.
And 12 months prior to that the two goal advantage which they took into the second leg at this stage of Europe’s premier club competition proved insufficient to see them through.
There is, then, no absolute guarantee they will once again secure a spot alongside continental superpowers like Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Real Madrid as a result of this remarkable and resounding 5-0 victory over Astana last night.
I think Matthew may be hurting a little.

Unfortunately you are right. There is even speculation that the transfer explosion in English football is due to the fact that if there is a hard brexit, the pound will plummet even more, hence the need to buy now and ‘save’ money in the future.
Let’s make no mistake Celtic will make a lot of money out of this and this is compounded by the fact that they are in a
small, irrelevant national league and thus makes it even more difficult for their competitors in the SPL. It also helps them that to qualify they play mickey mouse nations, in all honesty who on here could point to a map of the world and find Kazakstan?
My brother-in-law Arnold who is an accountant by profession says that Celtic are gaining disproportionately much more than say even Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool given their overheads. The only way to stop them annually sooking up millions is for the competition to be re-structured so that Celtic might meet ‘real’ teams in the qualifiers.
Poor wee Matthew Lindsay, come next Tuesday he’ll be exhausted from clenching his buttocks and grinding his teeth in the vain hope that somehow, somehow Astana can perform a miracle and knock the undisputed Champions of Scotland out of the Champions League…
Relax Matthew, accept you’ll feel better, your team are in the grubber and there they shall remain..
