  1. We need more players called Olivier in the team. That’s two now we have had and both world class.

    Olivier Ntcham

    Olivier Tebily

Hope the scouts are on it.

    Eh? Whit?

  2. traditionalist88 on

    Brilliant result last night.

They say the sign of a good team is not playing well and winning.

Well we played quite well but have a few gears to go up yet and players to come back in, and we won 5-0 in the Champions League playoff round, the biggest margin of victory by a long shot in this round.

This is down to the manager. He has raised the bar substansially and although there were those who wanted fringe players to be given another chance, he was ruthless enough to sell those who just weren’t up to it. Other players like Boyata and McGregor have shown progres few thought possible and now there is real scope to get the final 2/3 pieces of the jigsaw in. Great times!

  3. Martin Tyler tells the truth

    From his commentator’s booth.

He’s upset poor old Andy Gray

    Already having a bad day.

No worries, Mart, he won’t be missed

You’ll make friends on the ‘haters’ list!

  4. Tim Malone Will Tell on

Just managed to watch the highlights on youtube.

    Astana ??? – A Stauner !!!!

  5. Actually, talking about Olivier’s, and pigeon holing people who share certain things, reminds me of an HR director I once had.

Snobby fekker to say the least. I’d noticed a fella who lived a few doors away from me sitting at his living room window at all hours, including throughout the night. I saw him in the pub and commented that he kept unusual hours?

Transpired he’d lost his job as a coal miner, ( thanks to the milk snatcher) and had taken to working as a taxi driver, but was working ridiculous hours to make enough to pay the bills.

Told him to come and see me at my work and I’d give him a start in the clean room as I was looking for people.

He came along, I gave him a start and sent his details to HR. Got a call from the HR director shortly after. Tells me he’s concerned about the new guy.

    Why?

” he’s an ex miner, he won’t fit in here in the ultra clean environment ”

I assured him he’d be leaving his miners lamp and overalls at home and would be just fine. He very reluctantly accepted my decision and the fella started work.

About 2-3 months passed and I get another call from HR guy.

” I hear the new guy is brilliant. Quick learner, been here every day, lots of good ideas. Everyone says he’s a great employee, so I was just wondering if you knew any more of those ex miners”

    Huuuup…

  6. My brother-in-law Arnold who is an accountant by profession says that Celtic are gaining disproportionately much more than say even Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool given their overheads. The only way to stop them annually sooking up millions is for the competition to be re-structured so that Celtic might meet ‘real’ teams in the qualifiers.

    ——–

Yeah God forbid we have to get past the champions of Luxembourg…

    Consideration for others.

  8. Just watching Sky Deutschland’s highlights of the game on YouTube. Commentator: “The Champions League is vital for Celtic because in their domestic league they don’t have any competitors.”

    Ouch. :-)

  12. Happiness and enjoyment. Everyone talking about the game. No distractions.

And, there is more to come. I think its magical when the team, manager and support are as one.

This is what it feels to be Celtic.

HH to all, but especially to the fans who made the effort and had Parkhead rocking.

  13. Just put BT Sports on to record the Celtic highlights and there is a Leeds Southampton match from the early 70’s on and the fans were singing “Walk on”

  14. Still need to get Broony signed up for another 3 years. He said he’d sign on at the start of July. Why hasn’t it been sorted?

    http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/Sport/15387880.Scott_Brown__I_ll_sign_a_new_contract_with_Celtic___and_I_plan_to_play_on_for_Scotland_as_well/

SCOTT Brown has pledged his long-term future to both his club AND country – by revealing he will sign a contract extension with Celtic and is now available for selection by Scotland indefinitely.

  15. “Stuart Armstrong is ready to sign a new deal and commit his future to Celtic, BBC Scotland has learned.”

ie They heard Brendan speaking on Radio Shortbread last night !

    JJ

PS Is Brendan also reaching ` No Surname ` status?

  16. weebobbycollins on

Well, there you go! Your anti-Celtic, anti-Catholic, anti-Irish prayers fell on deaf ears…again.

Youz must be even mair ragin’ this mornin’…GIRUY lol

  17. Hot Smoked

    Brendan has a surname????

I thought rodgers was just a verb that followed Brendan’s name then was followed by the opposition’s name?

    How curious…

    ;)

  18. Timaloy29

During an item on the pre-match build-up last night on BT, Broony was asked if he could see himself ending his career at another club, and answered he wouldn’t be finishing up anywhere but Celtic. He didn’t seem to be harbouring any doubt.

  19. Well, that was some night! From the moment we stepped into BV till The Thumb getting his just desserts. Absolutely brilliant. CP can be such a joyful, happy, uplifting place – unlike the Dalveen Pass at 1 am in a thunderstorm with only a sphinx cat for company. ( youngest daughter sure puts me through the mill at times).

Big Ollie sure likes a spin and loves a pass. Only good times ahead.

DD – I’ll text later with my e-addy. Off to put out the rest of the donx

Sounds good to me NERO. He was mostly very assured last night…

  22. Davidopolous @ 9:51

    Nice one !

    From FF post earlier:

” in all honesty who on here could point to a map of the world and find Kazakstan?”

Could that possibly be the same Kazakstan as the one which is the NINTH largest country in the world?
