    Exiting stage left now, heading for the shops and a sneaky look at the back pages…Oh woe is me…not!

  6. I sat up to 2:30am on a High after getting back from the game with my grandson (his first CL game) reading CQN and other blogs. I totally forgot to post my hearty congratulations to Brendan and the Bhoys. I’ve attended nearly every European home game since 1965, seen all our great nights at Parkhead but never did I expect us to administer such a thrashing again to a decent team at this level. We were totally professional and ran the legs off Astana.

    When we talk about players, wages and contracts etc, we must not take our manager for granted. Whatever bonus Brendan and his staff are on for qualifying, PL should call him into his off ice next week and double it. Brendan has probably earned us £60 million + last season and this.

    Well done to everyone involved. Thought the fans were magnificent and created a great atmosphere. My 12 year old grandson loved it.

    Congratulations to our team on a wonderful performance.

    I was asking the Daily Reptilian Sports Team this morning, how hard is it to put a brave face on, when the team at Ibrox is mince, and the Celts are winning 5-0 in the CL:)

    Thought the Griff was excellent last night………the slight shimmy followed by a perfectly timed and weighted pass to equally wee Jamesy was sublime.Ollies initial pass showed great vision but Leigh’s manoeuvre topped it.

    Hoarse and happy.

    The problem with last night – it has raised my expectations – I think we can win it (the CL)

    Seriously its been a while since we looked as convincing as we look now – I’m not sure if we will be IN pot 3 or 4 but teams in pot 1 and 2 will not fancy drawing us !!

    Griff did well there-but watch James’ run. From through the middle to out right, creating the space for the pass. When he’s good,he’s great.

  19. Incredible high this morning.Sat up until 4 AM watching the re run of the game on Celtic TV.The back 4 were magnificent.Broony and Ntcham were magnificent. The forwards were magnificent.Griff tore them apart.

    The GB .What can you say?.The Conor Mc Gregor themed Tifo was inspired. With the man himself tweeting about us,it lifts the profile of the club. What a difference they make to Celtic Park.

    Gary Lineker is brilliant. The whole BT package is great.

    Now for the extra good bits.Armstrongs new contract.Paddy hopefully joining, and it looks like a new Centre Half on the way.Dembele and Boyatta fit for the Groups.

    Does anyone still think this team is not as strong as last yrs team??????

    The difference in some of the players is immense added to that of course is the confidence you get from being in a winning team, imho we are on another level from the team that played in the qualifiers last season.

    If Brendan gets in the 2 or 3 he wants between now and the window closing, then ach well you all know.

    The ‘ WE’RE HERE TO TAKE OVER’ jars with me.

    It’s not what Celtic is about.

    It smacks of hunnish triumphalism.

    And, in CL terms, it’s hubristic to the point of being certifiable.

    Fine for the noble art and its testosterone fueled aficionados, but not at CP.

    Apart from anything else the likes of TD67 will be left wondering if it isn’t some kind of Freudian slip by the GB betraying their own agenda.

    is anyone actually going to killie on saturday?

    i know celtic have sold all their tickets but there have been so many getting punted on celtic spares obviously people have bought them with no intentions of going to the game just to keep their record up

    AULDHEID…

    Surely souness amongst others were not employed by thems whilst getting ebt’s?

    Souness was paid by ebt for some service rendered as a manager, most probably as result of his working experience with Tugay at Galatasary and transfer to/from Blackburn whilst Souness managed there. No registration issue involved.

    Did the 5WA not state that all football debts were to be paid by sevco ?

    If this is indeed the case I would bet my last cent that they didn’t pay all of them, that would make the 5WA null and void imo

    HH

    =======================

    Football debts were debts owed to other clubs not fines The only debts mentioned in the Judicial Panel report were

    90 That on 5 February 2012 Rangers FC played a Scottish Cup Competition match against Dundee United. It failed to make payment of sums due to Dundee United on the day of said match. It failed to make payment of sums due to the Scottish FA within three days of said match. That since the matter of the sums unpaid to Dunfermline had come to light, steps had been taken by Rangers supporters to pay the sums due to be paid by Rangers FC and the sums due to Dunfermline had been settled by that means.

    91 That the sums owed to Dundee United Football Club had been settled in part by the Scottish FA from monies contractually due to Rangers FC by the Scottish FA re participation in the ScottishCup but the sum of £31,000 was still due.

    From 5 Way

    Payment of that amount and times was a condition of the 5 Way 2.5.3 Sevco will make payment to the SFA of the aggregate of (i) the fine of £10,000 imposed on RFC for the breach of Rule 2 of the JP Protocol; (ii) the fine of £50,000 imposed on RFC for the breach of Rule 14 of the JP Protocol; (iii) the fine of £100,000 imposed on RFC for the breach of Rule 66 of the JP Protocol; and (iv) the fine of £5,000 imposed on RFC for breach of Rule 73 of the JP Protocol, and shall pay the costs incurred by the SFA in relation to the Judicial Review in the sum of £31,063.40; the total sum to be paid to the SFA pursuant to this Clause 2.5.3 will be £196,063.40;

    And according to an SFM contributor who is very reliable payment of amounts in this territory feature in subsequent accounts but I stopped digging at above.

    Yes,a glaring omission in my post…………i’m maybe in the minority but I like what jamesy brings to the team in what i consider the hardest position to play ………having to beat an opponent on a consistent basis……..dae sump’n.
