Yes, I agree with the view of various posters ” That last season we would have lost that game”
We are due a wee bit of luck and the fine lines that determine sucess or failure can be down to luck.
Ronny had no luck.
We will get better as a team, but if we have luck it is a bonus. Luck is something you have , or you do not. I don’t believe that you make your own luck.
Of course there is room for improvement, but lets savour the moment as we look forward with some optimism that was missing pre BR.
William “Billy” S. McPhail (2 February 1928 – 4 April 2003) was a Scottish football player who played for Celtic, Clyde and Queen’s Park. He scored three goals in Celtic’s record 7–1 victory over Rangers in the 1957 Scottish League Cup Final. After retiring, he developed a neurodegenerative disease, which he believed to be a result of brain damage acquired from heading footballs. He was the younger brother of John McPhail.

Morning Bhoys well im off to hospital this morning for a small operation. It was good to win last night I honestly thought over the two legs there was not much between the teams. H.H.
Morning everyone, very nervy night but a deserved victory over the two legs. Not the time for who did what and who did that in my opinion.
Lets just leave the manager to sort it out, he’s doing okay so far and is talking the right way. His press conference last night when he handed the home support a lovely shit sandwich, was necessary and timed perfectly.
We are a support who need to take a look at ourselves at times; several times last night I heard fans roaring ” put it up there” ” get it in the box” when we had the ball on the half way line and Astana had 10 men behind the ball. They were a very physical and well organised side and it will be the same in the next round, so we better get our jumpy pills ready.
Off to the mill towns of Lancashire today and a nice dinner planned with a good friend, then our usual 3rd spot in the pub quiz. its nice to be doing that with European football in the bag till Xmas at least.

Good morning friends from a damp but who cares about that East Kilbride!
Speaking immediately after the final whistle last night, The North Curve’s Jobo Baldie said “personally, I thought it was my best performance so far and to finally last the full 90 minutes without a seat bodes well for the rest of the season” ;-)

Delighted and relieved we’re through. Thought Toure looked the part but question BR bringing him on at that stage in the game. Our defence was doing fine. The midfield were poor, creating little as an attacking force. I’m not a Forrest fan and again, for me, he did nothing. McGregor is out of his depth. Now BR has to show us, with the help of the board, if he can build a team. Hope we don’t loose too many league points before it happens.

Nuts! That’s what it was. Jesus wept. We were coasting it til then. What was BR thinking? Someone better tell the blaggard as much as we cant control the assimilated Scottish tims in our ethnic Irish support if he pulls anymore stunts like that he’ll be back on media duty sooner than we want him to be.
A great performance last night, I thought Brown was superb, the rest of the midfield need to start pulling their weight also he can’t do it on his own every game, I’m waiting on Armstrong upping his game to the level I think he has, has he still got that Uni. Thing going or has he passed his exams yet,? that Uni. Mob can turn your head, make you lazy, tight, anti management and all that, to me he has no bite or dig and it is there he is solid built, but players just stroll past him and he hardly ever wins a 50/50 ball, he needs to up his game and I hope he does or he will be left behind along with GMS, McGregor to me is a similar type of player but gets more involved and try’s harder, changes will come and IMO only, if they two don’t start to show what’s in the bag? Then I’m afraid that’s where the changes will be made, who are our best midfielders? Hard to say, but these two seem to be the front runners for that position, so the rest need to also take a good look at themselfs, am I criticising players? Yes and no, I’m more or less saying when you leave the field of play as a sub, or after 90 mins. Make sure you’ve left everything on that park, most of our midfield are not apart from Brown, and when he has a bad game it shows because no one else grabs the ring, it all goes down to…awe Broonie had a howler today….that’s not the way it works IMO, the back four will sort it’s self, and the forwards will too, that’s a given, but the midfield department where we have more players in than any other has to step up, or be shipped out, the man at the helm of the CFC ship right knows that, the engine room may need an overhaul during this maiden voyage. IMO, but well done to all involved last night HH.

Tommy Carmichael RIP. My condolences to his family and friends. Prayers offered.
Still recovering from the drama of last night. Good to know that there will be some level or another of European nights at CP at least until Christmas.
Don’t understand the racial references to Craig Gordon’s headed “clearance” and consequence. Hope that there is no intent of racism.
Great atmosphere in the stadium but, as BR says, crowd edginess can permeate to the team, especially as we have a number of younger players in our line up. HH
I think he gets a raw deal both on here and from both RD previously and now BR.
He is no more a left sided MF than I am.
He was bought – presumably – on the back of his displays for DU involving what I recall as him acting as a central MF pushing on to support front men.
Get rid of Bitton and Johansen and play him more centrally and we will see a better player.
BR spot on re: crowd. Too many idiots on the team’s case last night, eg Tierney barracked for a back pass in 1st half. When will we ever learn that at that level possession is everything?
Delighted to be still in CL but using Malmo and Maribor as yardsticks over the past two years, is this team ready yet for a CL group stage?? Were we to make it, we would need a very kind draw IMO to even be competitive.
