Not entirely sure what the jeering of Frimpong was all about. A bit lacking in class if you ask me.
I thought it looked like Turnbull’s toe/studs got stuck in the grass as he positioned for some kinda flick.
If in doubt – put it out, is the long held penalty box motto drilled for when I played RB or ‘sweeper’.
BTW, I live in a country where we don’t do defeat gracefully.

A kid who was ridiculed and scapegoated by our recent manager when he had totally lost the plot and was clearly not developing as a player.

1) the increase in occasional attendees at European nights
2) the increasing gracelessness of the support and most relevantly
3) Lennon badmouthing the boy in the media beforehand.

Over thew past 20 years I’ve seen better sides than Bayer Leverkusen visits CP, and lose. They are a good side but certainly no Bayern Munich.
The first 120 seconds of the game last night pretty much sums up Celtic under Ange. I’ve seen it described as Playstation football.
First goal was a personal calamity for Turnbull and the second found Ralston in the so-called inverted position. Penalty, and it’s game over after 57 minutes.
MON, WGS, and Lenny (Mk1) knew how to set up a team against superior opposition. Ange either doesn’t know how to or doesn’t want to. If the forward thrusts don’t result in goals, as happened last night, then the end result is 100% predictable. We lose the match.
I wonder if the same idiots who booed Frimpong .

I think the more astute of the support would acknowledge a world of difference between Tierney and Frimpong who were basically driven to the airport before the buying club changed their minds, and the likes of Edouard and Christie who stunk out the place the whole of last season.
Why will the next window be any different from the last one?
Allegedly Ange identified and signed one player of the 12.
What will be different in the next window?
Why are Shaw, Scales and Urhoghide (sp) on the bench yet never get game time?
Unless there is a massive wind of change, and soon, I don’t hold out much hope for the future.

St Tams – if memory serves me correctly, there was a fair bit of booing aimed at Larsson when he came back with Barcelona and scored. We have a hunnish element in our support. All clubs do.

We tend to think our shit don’t stink.

Philbhoy – IF Ange is still in charge come January, then I would hope/expect to see at least a couple of players come in from Japan who he has identified and prioritized. That is the market he knows and he does not need to listen to our scouts.
McCarthy is this years Shane Duffy. FIsh out of water. At least Duffy was only a loan.

I was at first bemused by the booing of Frimpong last night. (I thought it might have been the same as that meted out to Henrik i.e. half-jokingly.) That it persisted throughout the game, whenever he was on the ball, sickened me. Tbh, I was also saddened by some of the songbook.

The booing of the KoK was tongue in cheek and everyone in the stadium at the time knew it was tongue in cheek.
I would hazard a guess that the re-emergence of the republican songbook is directly linked to the massive increase in the visibility of staunch loyalism on the streets – the marches, the protests, the riots, the vandalism, the grafitti etc.
Our dafties think they have to respond to it.

My recollection from having been at the game was that the reaction to KoK scoring against Celtic was initially one of shock and that some clowns booed.
This was drowned out by applause, fuelled by KoK’s dignified and restrained response to his late goal which sealed his team’s 3-1 win.

The problem with the song book is that the support as a whole have abrogated the choice of songs to a small group.
It’s not like the GB have ever had to drown out other songs. Before they were around the place was like a morgue and it had been like that for a few seasons.
You maybe want to reflect on why it was like that.

Tierney and Frimpong moved to better teams, for much bigger money and more importantly, to much better leagues.
They are professionals who do this for a living and wanted to expand their careers.
Unlike some of the wantaways, they never agitated for a move, gave their best for the club and would’ve continued to do so had those bids not come in…..
I’ve no hard feelings and I thought the booing was out of order.
Henrik got booed at Celtic Park as tongue in cheek, he was the pantomime villain .
It was funny
We sang “Bobo’s going to get you”..
in the same vein,
we laughed ,
it was an ‘in joke’ , which we knew Henrik would understand,
he would know we were joking , after all we lovedl him.
Unfortunately the humour did not translate.
Henrik thought it was serious.
He said afterwards , he was surprised, and a little shocked.
Irish / Scottish humour is not always understood in England…

The point I was trying to make – evidently not very well – was the disappointment of him having scored against Celtic.
Your other reply at 10:28 is valid and I think we have always been on the same page in that regard.
I asked a few weeks ago idf the Green Brigade actually knew any celtic songs…..There is a time and a place for their song catalogue, it’s no longer Celtic Park….
